What are currently the best automated internet businesses?

I've been reading about selling on Ebay and using automated drop shipping, but it seems risky.

The automated order fulfillment /shipping facilities are expensive, and I'd be worried about sending out an expensive product only to have it come back as a charge back.

I don't think you could have asked a question any more vague than this. What do you mean by best? Least stress? Most profitable? Even these would depend person to person based on your skillset.Different types of businesses have pros and cons that each person would value differently

I've been a digital nomad for a very long time (software development), but it's hard work.

Would be nice to find something that is truly hands off, but that sounds more like a dream...

Business always has some element of risk. The trick is to take well-calculated risks and never bet more than you can afford to lose.

eCommerce can be one of the most automated internet businesses if you know how to delegate and your niche has high margins.

I'd advise completing a Udemy course on whatever particular medium you want to work on e.g. Amazon FBA, dropshipping, eBay etc. They each have their pros and cons which suit different people.

I'll expand on this one a little. I've seen several people with blogs and sites that making a killing promoting "getting rich online." They get rich by either selling books and/or directing the traffic to affiliate programs. The guys write the book one time and then sell it for years with minor updates.

The sexy part is the affiliate programs. They say, okay here is your free advice to get start. "Click here to go to XYZWidget hosting company and sign up for their year plan." The site owner than makes a huge ass commission on those sign ups. Sometimes as much as $100 per person. I've come across a few people making $100k a year in just hosting referrals.
