Aromatase inhibitors

Aromatase inhibitors

I have pretty low testosterone; might need medical intervention, although if there's an alternative to testosterone gel/shots I'd take that first, as I'm already on insulin shots and starting another permanent cause of medication is not that appetising a prospect.
Aromatase inhibitors might be one-I was somewhat overweight for a while, which I know doesn't help test and does increase aromatase: has anyone been prescribed these?
What's the effect like? It does raise test by lowering oestrogen, right?

Are there any other options for raising testosterone besides TRT? I know lifestyle is a big factor and I am losing weight, working out, popping supps and doing what else I ought to.

Have you tested your estradiol (the most active subtype of estrogen)?

Don't start on an aromatase inhibitor without knowing where your estradiol is. Don't even guess based on whether you are overweight or not. Do a hormone panel first, and report back to us and we'll help you out.

This reminds me how long it's been since I've had fried mushrooms.
Anyway, white buttoncaps are a mild natural inhibitor. Try adding them to your diet and see what happens.

Stick to natural supplements at first, try the natural route for about 2 months and see how it affects your testosterone.

- Tongkat Ali - one of the most potent supplements to increase testosterone. If you were to only take 1 supplement, I'd definitely recommend this.

- DIM (diindolmethane) - This is essentially a compound found in broccoli which metabolizes estrogen.

So if you combine Tongkat with DIM, you'll metabolize your estrogen at the same time increasing testosterone.

- Zinc: Cannot recommend ZMA (Zinc, Magnesium and B6) enough, take it before bedtime, not only does it increase your testosterone (via Zinc) it also helps you enter deep sleep, which also helps with testosterone production. Also take mega doses of Zinc if you're a smoker and regular drinker as cigarettes are loaded with Cadmium and deplete your Zinc, and alcohol in general depletes Zinc as well. Also try avoiding beer when you drink, as they are loaded with phytoestrogens which mimic your body's estrogen.

---
Heavy compound exersizes in the gym, such as squats and deadlifts will boost your testosterone

Sleep is one of the key factors, as you produce testosterone as with many other hormones during sleep. Try to get at least 6 hours of sleep a night.

Sedentary lifetyle also contributes to low testosterone, so if you work in an office, get up and start moving, bike to work, jog etc..

---

If you go to the TRT route, think about this, you're essentially pumping artificial testosterone into your body, and your body has a negative feedback mechanism which will detect this testosterone and further limit your natural production. So it's not a permanent fix and may have long term consequences.

A lot of anti-aging clinics are running a very successful regimen for people with semi-low range testosterone.

50mg DHEA in Transdermal Carrier
For a TD Carrier you can try DMSO mixed with 30% sterile water stored in a glass bottle from Amazon.com

Countless studies have proven that DHEA in Low Doses is not Suppressive to Natural Testosterone Production and will actually raise it but only if you have low testostereone.

For males with Average to High Testosterone, DHEA will do nothing for you except increase estrogen via Estradiol or E2 for short.

Most importantly, if you don't actually know your numbers then get blood work done dude or an @ home saliva test kit.

Lastly, if you are going to try to lower your estrogen while not on Steroids then use a Suicide Inhibitor like Exemestane.

ONLY USE LOW DOSES like 6mg Exemestane per day.

Exemestane causes NO estrogen rebound upon cessation of use, also it lowers SHBG which will free up more of your bound sex hormones.

When you lower SHBG you will increase Testosterone and Estrogen both, but since Exemestane is a Suicide Inhibitor you won't get any negative side effects of increased Estrogen, only the benefits of increase Testosterone.

Do not play around with Letrozole, Arimidex or any other super strong Aromatase Inhibitors if you are not using Aromatizable Steroids, you will crush your Estrogen too low and fuck up your endocrine system.

Alternatively you can try low-doses of Clomid, 25mg a day, this is also commonly prescribed by anti-aging clinics to people with semi-low testosterone.

Not yet; I'll see my doctor about a full panel. Did a fingerprick test just for testosterone which confirmed a low level, but you're right; I wouldn't touch a hormone replacement based on a self-diagnosis

Yeah, I take zinc and a couple other things, tongkat ali is hard to find. Definitely not taking up TRT unless there's no other option. Lifestyle is the focus until I can find an accomodating doctor.

I'll get a hormone panel done soon, either as part of regular monitoring or pay for it myself. I'll def take a look at DHEA to start with. Everything else...yeah, medical supervision is a necessity.

If you decide to try DHEA only Transdermal and only on areas that have high androgen concentrations (shoulders, traps, biceps and forearms).
If rub onto your gut or legs, basically anywhere that men carry fat, your risking high estrogen conversion.

Also oral DHEA is 100% worthless, your body will convert most of it into estrogen if you go that route.
