What is that? A metaphor for a chick dealing with her period?

I guess I will watch it in the cinema anyway. But Star Wars and all those rebels are truly the multicultural ones that fight against law and order. Every time they show such rebel places, they are a mess. When I see the Imperium, I see ambition, reason, order. The new order in a world of chaos.

We will stand tall in the sunshine

And if we have to go alone
We'll go alone with pride

For us, these conflicts can be resolved by appeal to the deeply ingrained higher principle embodied in the law, that individuals have the right (within defined limits) to choose how to live. But this Western notion of individualism and tolerance is by no means a conception in all cultures. - Theodore Dalrymple

Surely no one would watch this after the utter fiasco that was Star Wars VII.

I already don't like the lead character, and it's not because it's a woman. It's because she seems like a cunt.

I'm stunned that the trailer has a 95% like ratio. It's obviously not as shitty or massacred as that Ghostbusters movie was, but it's still bad. It's sad that people will still fork over money for it.

Our new 5'3" Mary Sue beat 5 - FIVE - storm troopers by herself in hand to hand combat without Force powers. And she has a resting bitch face throughout the entire trailer. No joy, no sweetness, no heart - just the modern feminist's 1000 cock stare.

Rogue One is Wedge Antilles. Not sure what this garbage is.

This guy gets it. No amount of Disney buggery is going to change what older fans know of the franchise. Spitting on those expectations the way Disney has will only piss off older fans more. Those are the customers who made the demand for Star Wars profitable, not these SJW Johnny come lately's who will abandon episode 8 for anther hunger games

There's probably going to be two "Star Wars" movies a year, it's Disney, they gotta make that money fast.

Here's how I know it's gonna suck:

Forest Whitaker is in it. Can't act for shit and half the time you're wondering what the fuck is up with his eyes.

I think I've only seen a few movies with him in them, not a whole lot of acting was really required, Ghost Dog and Repo, can't remember anything else that I've seen with him in it.

I was excited about this and hoped it might be a return to actual Star Wars, but it only took about five seconds of grrrrl powerrr trailer to completely smother my enthusiasm.

You're better off reading the Rogue Squadron books written in the nineties - very well written, good characterization and action, and no SJW preaching to be found (even though there are several important female characters in the series.) Or playing Dark Forces, which involves the (evil heterosexual white) male who *actually* steals the Death Star plans.

I wasn't happy about Disney throwing out the (often excellent) Expanded Universe material when they purchased Star Wars but their rampant forced diversity agenda has basically reduced Star Wars to used toilet paper. I still enjoy the old books and games but I'm not giving them another cent for anything new.

You're talking about the kind of male that dresses up as Jedi despite being fully grown adults...they remind me a lot of Cartman in South Park shouting "Mom!!! We're wizards and warriors right now kay?", demanding that his fantasies be treated seriously.

They won't learn. The millenials are a generation which is perpetually chasing childhood, forever hunting that nostalgia....and is doomed to be forever dissappointed because they have passed up on the fruits of adulthood, while the shadows of the past will forever be just shadows.

At this point I don't even give a fuck about the whole girl power thing.

I just wish they'd fucking adapt some of the books already out there regarding this. For example Star Wars: Dark Forces

Kyle Katarn stole the death star plans and stopped the Dark Trooper plans and also was a Jedi.

Same here, I really don't care it's a chick. Just make a good Star Wars. I can't really rip on a lead woman, one of my favorite all time science fiction movies is Alien. Just make it fucking good, all I'm asking. If this is another nail in the coffin of what was once a great series then I'm done, but I'm still going to hold out some form of hope, probably naively. I get hyped over this because Star Wars meant alot to me growing up, it was really amazing to me. Force Awakens shoved the shiv deep in my gut but I'll give it one last try.

People are already posting shit on social media like:

"she gets to see these kick ass females instead of damsels in distress."

They're already talking about how people are complaining and shaming them for it.

Just make a GOOD Star Wars movie.

All this is, is pandering to get more women into paying into Star Wars.

Here's the thing. Even the "silent majority" of women think it's retarded. They know that even the baddest dudes out there don't take on 5 trained soldiers and win. It's not something you can "relate to". It's something so ludicrous that eyes roll. What does a much better job is characters like Ripley (who another poster mentioned) who know their in over their heads and use every bit of cunning they have to outmaneuver their opponents.

Kyle Katarn was a great character. Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy make my top 10 list.

I remember playing Rebel Alliance on the N64 as a kid and immediately aligned it with this.

After watching the trailer I wondered to myself how stupid I am sometimes.

I've had so much fun with Jedi Outcast. Such an amazing plot, just right difficulty scaling and expansive but not labyrinthine levels. The multiplayer was also great despite being quite unbalanced.

Ahhhhhh, great times...

I am ready . . .

for the unlimited misspellings when it's referred to as "Star Wars : Rouge One".

After watching the trailer, I can accurately conclude that she will either achieve God-like powers within twenty minutes of learning about the Force, or accomplish jack shit and be hailed a hero anyways.

Unfortunately, Star Wars nerds have always been the white knight-y types. They're always Luke, looking out to rescue their own Leia.
