Hard to beat the Mediterranean climate.

Cool nights are key. It's impossible to sleep if it's hot and worse if it's humid. Sleeping with a/c on is not fun. Being at altitude like in Medellin or coffee zone Colombia, even Cali gets that nice evening breeze and cools off quite a bit at night.

Mendoza in Argentina is nice as well, hardly any rain since it's a desert on the eastern side of the Andes which block all the clouds over in Chile. Unlike most deserts it still gets plenty of water thanks to the runoff from those mountains.

Mexico City climate is great unfortunately the city is highly polluted and crowded.

As a mountaineer:

Natural, rocky landscapes covered in snow. Minimal wind, not so cold that it's freezing, but definitely not warm enough for the snow to melt. Getdownonit mentions sleeping conditions; I love nothing more than to squeeze into a sleeping bag and bivouac at around 0-10 celsius in the middle of nowhere. So I can rise at 5/6am and walk while the sun rises.

Oh yeah and I hate tourists-so unless I have a practical reason I avoid capitals all together, using smaller cities as breaks away from mountain hiking and eating below maintenance for up to a week.

What this guy said. Alpine Switzerland is one of my favorite places.

My ghost skin makes me figuratively allergic to intense sun, even though I like it in theory. The Mediterranean climate is what most would agree on to be the ideal, including me, but in sum it's probably too much sun for me in the long term.

I need to head north until I hit the sweet spot of a comfortable climate while getting less sun. In terms of cities, San Francisco wouldn't be bad for me. Though, I'm probably best biologically adapted to frigid ass places like Oslo.

The east coast USA is tough because its either shitty and cold or I quickly get into too much sun in places like Virginia Beach and south of that.

I prefer cool temps of 50-70 F and blue skies. So, yeah, perhaps the Bay area.

I prefer temperate climates with 4 seasons, although I lean more to the continental variant, with forests and mountains. Mediterranean climate is my second choice. Fortunately I live in a country that has both, so I can't complain about that.

The only thing I can't stand is high humidity, so I guess I could never live anywhere near the tropics.

Ideally I would live in a 4 seasons climate, though I have yet to see this mythical place. I currently live in an area of New England which supposedly has these 4 seasons, but here it's either balls-to-the-wall freezing or humid. Not to mention inconsistent as fuck (just went from 60 F to 35 F in a matter of days).

Yea, fuck this 4 seasons shit. Mediterranean is the way to go.

^Summer / Autumn in the Adirondacks is great but doesn't quite qualify unless you're prepared to endure that same spot in the dead of winter!

I prefer the tropics myself (love the weather in Vietnam as long as you're not in a city like Saigon.)

That said, the southern Mediterranean where I am now is a great compromise. First world and pretty great weather.

I love the winter. I am born and raised in Minnesota, and there is no place on earth like the lakes up in the North woods.

I love the variety and distinct seasons we get here in the eastern US, except the 2-3 months out of the year when it's an icy wasteland where spending more than a few minutes outside is a non-starter and simply walking to your car (which you'll have to scrape before going anywhere) is an adventure in trying not to slip and bust your ass. Though that part makes me appreciate spring like crazy.
