The Pressure Project

Hi guys,

Through Jack Donovan facebook page I came across something called The Pressure Project.

These guys describe themselves as a movement inspiring men to re-embrace their masculinity through honor, brotherhood, and the pressure to succeed.

They have an interview with Jack here:

I'm completely new to their podcast. And I haven't listened to anything from them apart from above interview.

Any idea?

I'm familiar with Master Chim and his pressure project. For me there are many positive aspects, and many aspects that simply wouldn't be congruent with my own personality and interests. I think the emphasis on tribe, brotherhood etc is healthy, and something that is incredibly important for all men. It is good to have friends who are deeply loyal to you, and to whom you are yourself deeply loyal. It is good to encourage them to be fit, healthy, strong, capable, and educated men. If this group forms around common interests then it may be that it is particularly valuable for exploring these interests more rigorously.

As far as Master Chim, Jack Donovan et al. specifically are concerned, I think it is excellent that they are all in their way pro-actively engaged in something they clearly love and are doing well at.

Personally though, I don't agree with their philosophy and find it extremely negative. Their total rejection of the world as it is, and their apparent loathing for human progress, is not something I find terribly compelling. Again, they attack all the worst excesses of human avarice, and that is fine, but I think in rejecting the fruits of our progress as a species, rather than just the extremes of our use of it, they are advocating an entirely regressive philosophy.

Essentially, I think they are half right for all the wrong reasons.

I love it and listened to it alot in the past. One thing that I don't like is he talks about training as a man and all this stuff and yet now he is incredibly fat. He makes all these rationalizations like 'im fat because I want to be' and stuff but really it makes me lose respect for him. Especially if you see how he used to look like.
