Not to intentionally start another race debate, but this was an article posted ten years ago, and I was confused about it's depiction of social landscape. Was this article accurate about its assertions and are Asian guys in America really the new trophy boyfriends, now that 10 years have passed?
Two words--Hell No! Have you ever walked the streets of an American city. You'll clearly see that this isn't so. It's interesting to see an article like this from ten years ago pop up. However, I presume "Asian" generally refers to East Asian such as Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, Korean, etc.

This guy is not your typical Asian man. Notice how he spits good game about her hair. (He teases.) He randomly stops her on the street (daygame). The alpha is strong in this one. For every Asian guy with game, there are about 10,000 Asian guys with no game.
Also, the woman, Lisa Rosevear, was married at 21. This tells us that she (presumably) did not whore herself off during most of her twenties. This is not your average woman. But, then again, this article was written in 2000, so Lisa Rosevear married somewhere around 1990 where society was much more conservative about open sexuality than it is today.
This is not your typical Asian man, and this is not your typical American woman.

Both Asian men and women were expected to marry one's own race. In fact, there is just as much, if not more, pressure on Asian women to marry within one's race.
Furthermore, by describing Asian men as "dutiful" sons, this is sort of implying that they are limp-dicked mama's boys. Most of them are, but they are playing by what I call "old school" rules. The Chinese come from a culture where Confucian ideas still linger where the parents would raise the children, and the children, in turn, would take care of the parents and the daughters would be obedient and sons the giver of resources.
Let's break down the typical stereotype of an typical Asian man. He is geeky, nerdy, sexless, a social retard, has no social skills, and is bad with women. Let's look at the geek stereotype. To have a professional white-collar job requires large amounts of time, dedication, and resources. This means you won't have much time to interact with people (e.g., develop good social and conversational skills) which translates into not being able to talk with women at all.
It is no wonder that the nerd stereotype has a bit of truth in it. Nerds, for the most part, are not seen as assholes, but when they are viewed in a badass way (evil mad scientist) they are still seen as celibate and sexless. That is because the evil mad scientist spends all his time in the laboratory, unable to socialize with people and getting able to talk with women. Being able to socialize is a skill. It can be learned, but only with practice.

Lol. This is too funny. The article assumes (and implies) that having a good, steady job and being honest and smart will actually attract women. Here's the news: there's millions of guys out there with steady jobs. Sure, they may work as a corporate slave, but it
is secure. Unless you reach the upper echelons of your field of work (business CEO, well-known doctor or lawyer, etc.) your job will not help you get women unless you want to be used and played by golddiggers.

Conclusion Being an Asian guy is not going to stop you. It might initially be a bit of a handicap since people have these stereotypes in their heads but they can be overcome. It's like being a little short. It can be overcome with good game.
