London Underground vs Overground

London Underground vs Overground

What are the primary differences between these two transport options? I know the overground is more of a traditional rail service, but does it run as frequently as the underground?

I loathe commuter rail options because I like being able to show up at the station whenever I please (time tables be damned).

Does it ticket the same as the tube as well?

Get an oyster travel card, it used on both. Overground has more space and goes to different places. Get an online map for each.

Underground is more frequent (depends on time of day) but really depends on where you are travelling. Get an Oyster card its the cheapest way to travel in zones 1-6 (underground or overground). LU provides free maps online so navigating around should be pretty easy.
