Extending Your Colombian Tourist Visa at DAS: A Walkthrough

Fuck I got tired of getting visas in Colombia so I'm going ilegal and paying the fine after I get out of the Country. It works for me because I don't plan on leaving anytime soon and would rather save my time and money than to try to stay legal again..I'm also thinking that I can go across Ipiales and into Ecuador without even paying the fine...

@jarocho

Could you please post how much your fines/penalties turns out to be?

It would be incredibly helpful.

@mixx
Fines: Between one and ten minimum salaries (roughly $300 to $2000). You pay max if (1) You spend a long time in the country without a visa (years!) and (2) If the officer is an asshole in a bad mood that day (hint: be nice to the douchebag).

The steps are:

1) Stay in Colombia illegally for as long as you want...
2) When you're ready to leave go to DAS and fill out a salvaconducto form
3) Be nice to the cunt officer so he/she gives you a low fine.
4) PAY the fine
5) Leave the country in peace

If you try to skip those steps and just head over to the airport without having a salvaconducto they can tell you to fuck off their country and never come back again (although I suspect they might not let you in for a year or so since you're no criminal).

I was just talking to a friend yesterday he got a 5 yr business visa, NO you don't actually have to invest, just show that you have SOME company and say you are LOOKING to open a branch, etc... From Colombia he said it took only a few weeks and that he's done it in 3 countries already and it's easy peasy. He does IT. Hes Canadian. Also done in USA and Mexico.
