So is the OC worse than the Bay Area or other 1st-tier cities in the US other than NY? It sounds like its really bad because of the logistics (lack of public transportation), stuck-up women, guys who are douchey, etc. But isn't that a problem in other 1st-tier cities in the US also?

Define "worse".

I'm of the opinion OC is vastly superior to the surrounding areas (exception maybe being SD). It certainly beats LA, as LA is even more expensive and has far more ghetto areas. Yeah there's limited public transport. and having a car is a must. But that's really everywhere in CA. If you use public transport in OC people will look down their nose at you. Not necessarily the case in LA where they have the rapid and the red/blue lines which are used by everyone.

by worse, I meant not just living standards like cost/ghettoness/public transportation, but also in terms of the easiness of girls. Its probably not as bad as the bay area since the ratios are much better. But I've heard its not much easier since the girls are so stuck-upm cliquey and picky

Dating-Apps changed all that, I've banged all sorts of girls from the OC and surrounding area.

Girls being stuck up and picky is BS, I've had girls tell me they've never dated my race, or hate facial hair, yet I'm balls deep in them later that night.

I love OC, I love So-Cal, the girls are hot here. Gio kills it up north in the bay area.

So obviously it's a self defeating attitude. If you can visit here for awhile, do so, start checking out the party areas and do some approaches at malls and the beach. See for yourself.

Would love to hear any insights about dating Vietnamese girls here. I've dropped into Westminster a few times but feel out of place when I'm the only white guy being stared at by a bunch of middle aged Vietnamese ladies. I feel like I need an in with them but maybe I'm making it too complicated.

Any good spots to game during the week? Especially weekdays. I hate nightlife and drunk people.

What about the cost of living down here? I'm paying roughly $1600 a month in living expenses elsewhere now. I know rent is much higher, but what else makes Orange County so costly?

Orange County is fine if you don't mind sharing a house or condo with people. I have friends that pay ~700 a month for their room by the beach.

If you go Inland you can probably get a 2 bedroom apartment for that rent, though not in the nicest neighborhoods

Yes. It's not as if cars or Costco is more expensive, though gas is likely a tad more

I lived in Fullerton. Went to DTF often and heard from older guys that it use to be a little bit classier or at least not as crime ridden. It depends on the nights but if you are looking for a Latina chick, it's not hard to find them here. There are a lot of bars/clubs to go hopping around in and if you're trying to hook up with chicks it's a solid place. You will also see a lot of the local fraternities and sororities out and about - it's not impossible to grab the sorority girls but usually helps to have an in (Just tell them you're in a fraternity.)

There are pockets of minorities, like in Santa Ana - filled with Mexicans, Westminster is filled with Vietnamese, Irvine is filled with Persians and Asians. Costa Mesa is a little mix but mostly white, Huntington Beach has a lot of college age/young adults but their parents usually have a lot of money and are from OC as well, Newport/Laguna and all the higher tier coastal areas have rich white people for the most part but the quality is generally higher here, you will see a lot of basic white chicks but there are quite a few 7+. The city of Orange has an interesting dynamic in that the surrounding areas are Hispanic but has some high quality girls who attend Chapman university.

I do recommend living here if you can afford it, but it really depends on the area. I would personally stay away from some inland areas like Santa Ana, Westminster and parts of Anaheim (Anaheim hills is nice.)
