Bigger by the day 30 pounds of muscle in 4 months

Not sure if any of you guys have checked this out, there is a YouTube channel of a bodybuilder, Rich Piana, showing his program to put on a lot of size in a short amount of time.

Episode One

While his first impression may not be the greatest - a huge tattooed steroid freak I've found his videos very motivational. He works extremely hard, getting up early every day and following his program to a T, he's very positive and enjoys what he's doing and he has some real alpha qualities - doing it his own way and not giving a fuck.

The other thing I've picked up on is how he dominates the relationship with his wife, you can hear it in all their conversations; cutting off threads, the day revolves around what he wants to do, talking about what he wants in a woman and how she should look etc, he holds the frame in all their interactions.

The last thing is that some of the comments are pure comedy gold.

There is no way for 99.99% (at least) of the population of this planet to put ~14 kg of muscle in 4 months (even when newbies) without roids. Even with roids, it would be very difficult and the majority of people will still fail. It's too short a period.

Rich Piana has simply left humanity behind. His videos are hilarious as well as inspiring. He's the poster boy of not giving a fuck. He's an honest guy in a sea of snake oil salesman (see Mike Chang) and although he's selling bullshit supplements at least he admits he's juiced to the gills, so I respect his hustle. In saying that, his dieting advice is completely worthless unless you're taking HGH, Test, Tren and most likely Dianabol and shouldn't be followed.

Supremely cool story OP, but listening to any kind of advice from a steroid user is completely pointless because they live by other rules and normal people can't follow their training advice

OP there are no shortcuts.

There is no such thing as gaining 30 pounds of muscle in 4 months. 95% of people can't even put on that much in 2 years of consistent lifting along with a perfect diet.

I did Rich Piana's non-stop 8 hour arm workout couple years ago. He promised that you'll add an inch to your arm within 24 hours.

Huge breakfast, followed by 16 protein shakes ... one every half hour throughout the workout. I couldn't drive myself back home and took 2 days off from work because i couldn't do basic shit like opening a door along with puking my guts out for a whole day after. My arms stayed the same size.

These workouts are meant for guys on a huge cocktail of juice.

One of my New Year's resolutions was to put on 15 lbs of muscle this year...

Respect to him though, he certainly works very hard.

Well at least he openly admits to taking large amount of steroids, unlike many people who flat out lie about their usage.

There's also these terribly edited highlight videos. He's done one for each day.

I think steroid use has gone way up from what it used to be; there are quite a few popular posters on this board who openly post about using it.

I've never done it myself but if I knew I could safely take it for a short period of time and turbo-charge my results I'd consider it.

I do like Rich Pianta.. BUT if you follow his program expecting to put on that amount of muscle then you're retarded. Because of the huge amount of roids I wouldn't follow his training advice, but I don't mind some of his videos.

Ricardo Pinto Bean Pineapple has one of the best youtube channels on the net. He openly talks about juicing in a way like Trump provides politically incorrect soundbites to the media to draw attention to himself. I find it hard to believe you can add 30 lbs of muscle in that time, but I look forward to watching his progress as he goes through it all. He gets a lot of haters naturally, but he has a shitload of experience in the bodybuilding world. It's hard to discount it totally.

Hey Anabasis, if you want an inch on your arms in 24 hours then just go to Mexico and get PMMA injections like Rich.

I respect Rich for his openness about his gear use. The buck stops there. His knowledge of training, steroids, and nutrition are woefully bad and I hope people watch his channel purely for entertainment, nothing more.

I also find it interesting that people will still go to a guy who has more oil/shit in his arms than the average porn star has in her ass for advice.

Man I was laughing so hard I nearly fell off my chair. That's some hilarious shit. Props for actually trying it out though.

Isn't 10lbs of lean muscle mass in a year considered to be extremely good?

It's funny, there are two ways to look at the Piano Man:

1. An idiot with bigorexia. With his tattoos, proportions, lack of legs, and admitted synthol use, there is no way he could step on stage. There is no rational reason for his desire to be 300 lbs.

2. A self-made man who does whatever the FUCK he wants, whether that means doing an 8 hour arm workout or eating cookies (which are not a meal just a delicious fucking snack). His supplement line must sell well, I see it 5% jugs being used often. Looking at his website they also sell in retail outlets nationwide. How many "YouTube Fitness Celebrities" can say that?

Rich Piana used to be heaver than he is now. He'll gain some weight from muscle memory alone.

Also, he's been bodybuilding for over 30 years – if he claims he can gain 30lbs in 4 months then I wouldnt't bet against him.

Have you seen his cycle? It is fucking insane. Over 2g test/wk, 5iu HGH daily, insane amounts of deca, tren, mast, primo and even more. His diet/training could be aboslute shit but he'd still be adding mass with that.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

Exactly.

He's not gaining 30 lbs of new muscle. Any lifter who's quit working out for a while for some reason or another knows how easy it is to gain back muscle you've lost. Muscle memory is a beautiful thing.

I've gone from 200 lbs at 6'1 to 160. Took me about 3 months to get back to 200 most of it being muscle. So technically you could say i gained 25 pounds of muscle and 15 pounds of fat in 3 months. But it's not "new" muscle. It's muscle that took me over 2 years to build.

So yeah, i don't doubt he can gain that 30 pounds. Given the fact he has sold his buttcheeks to the devil i wouldn't be surprised if he even gained more.

My issue is that newbie naturals like the OP follow his programs expecting the same results and set themselves up for injury.

I've never heard of this guy, but his videos are oddly entertaining, especially when he picks his shoes or picks up food and bitches in the car.

I wouldn't exactly call working out seven days a week, eating huge amounts of food and taking a cocktail of drugs for four months a shortcut.

If you watch the videos you'll see that they're fairly standard workouts with a lot of variety and because he has previous injuries he doesn't go that heavy so the chances of injury are low from just following the workouts.

As to your point of muscle memory I actually wonder if this is true or just bro science? I've googled it and haven't found any studies backing this up, maybe you have seen something more about this?

What was his training called where at the end of the video he said he does 100 reps of one muscle group later in the day for a pump for 2 months straight? I couldn't understand him.

The guy seems pretty dedicated and pretty entertaining but he lost me when he picked up packets of "protein oatmeal" which have 12g of sugar more than original oats and also going to get fast food.

He calls it a feeder workout. I've been doing these and they are fucking tough. It's three sets of 100 reps with a light weight of two exercises making a total of 600 reps - side raises and the second one leaning forward so it hits the lats more (not sure of the name of this exercise).

Just to do these every day takes a lot of dedication because they are not fun to do at all.

Rich is a great guy and one of the few honest guys out there in an industry full of scammers.

That being said, don't even bother with this if you're not on roids. Natural lifters just have to operate by different training philosophies.

Run Starting Strength/Stronglifts/Greyskull's LP and/or Texas Method/Candito's 6 Week Program if you want to put on size and strength as a natural.
