Secular Sins - Thou shalt not rules of society

Thou shalt not live abroad or talk about foreign girls in a positive way.

Thou shalt not be unplugged from pop culture or mainstream media.

Thou shalt not have any other cause that's more important than the current SWPL political/social cause.

Thou shalt not be a happy single man beyond the age of 30.

Thou shalt not talk about racism that doesn't involve white or asian people.

Not Having a Facebook account (linked to your real name)

Certain jobs expect you to have Facebook, LinkedIn is not enough. Soon Instagram will be required. I had a woman from Roomster refuse to rent to me because I had no Facebook, she said it was weird. For the record I have a fake Facebook, Instagram, and even LinkedIn for lying to women. But once a company I worked for in the past started asking people to log into social media sites and allow HR to see what is on them I closed all my real shit except LinkedIn.

The new rule it seems is there is no line between private life/public life/career, that works if you are a chick but not if you are a man, especially if you are heterosexual man.

Yup, I stopped using facebook like 5 years ago when I was getting questioned and cross-referenced by different chicks I was talking to. Now it's even worse that jobs want to do that kind of shit to you too. I remember reading an article from several years ago where a person got subpoenaed through facebook when they weren't able to contact them any other way, and I quickly realized your facebook profile was going to be used as an official online ID in their attempt to end online anonymity, and then I deleted everything I could off of it. I have a fake facebook with 0 friends for tinder purposes only, and I still get friend requests that i'm turning down all the time from these wanna-be Sherlock Holmes bitches.

This thread's title is misleading, change the word "Secular" as secular just means non religious and separation of powers, which is something we, as a society, should should all aspire to have, and as a secular guy myself I sure as hell don't want a world where the things mentioned in this thread are real as they have nothing to do with secularism anyway. Stop equating secularism with all the crap that permeates our society.

I've noticed that "not recycling" is another secular sin. Have you ever seen the terror on someone's face when you throw a metal can into the garbage? Its priceless.

My entire life is privileged, socially-concerned women organising crusades to demonise and undo policies and social mores that were created and crusaded into practice by privileged, socially-concerned women thirty-to-forty years before them.

Thirty years from now, I guarantee that privileged, socially-concerned women will be viciously-shaming the previous generation for believing in tolerance, single motherhood, homosexuality and gender fluidity.

Thread title is referring to the fact that there's certain things that when done in our secular society will result in a treatment that is similar to the way religious sins would be treated in a theorcratic society ie. shaming along demands for a public confession and admission of guilt.

No, the thread title is implying that the things being discussed in this thread are considered sins in a secular society which is incorrect, they are in fact considered sins to cultural marxism dogma, which is a very different beast from secularism.

Appearance of racism as a white person is the secular sin. You can act racist on your own time so long as you don't make anyone uncomfortable by saying the wrong thing, or become a target of politicians or media.

Would you prefer to live in a less secular or even totally nonsecular society?

I'm a christian that lives in the southern bible belt...the mayor says a prayer before community bbqs, the public school teachers are southern baptists and most community events are run or hosted by churches. So I'm totally ok with nonsecular society.

Even a secular society has to have a moral foundation to base its laws on. If the foundation doesn't come from religion, it would come from another kind of philosophy or dogma. Declaring a society as secular just excludes religion from the options of the dogmatic and/or moral foundations, which I disagree with. I think christianity should have equal 'validity' for its morals on par with the church of the flying spaghetti monster, marxism, humanism, nihilism or the writings of Thomas Hobbes.

Animal cruelty laws are a great example of this. They are secular, ie. not based in religion, but are just based on someone's beliefs or feelings that animals have rights. However, if we got a hindu up there that said "no killing cows, they are our relatives" his law would be blocked because its nonsecular. Again, secular thought means that any crazy ideas are valid, as long as they aren't based in religion. So I'm not for it. If you've got the votes, bring on the crazy, whether its your own ideas, a system of beliefs, or the will of your god.
