Just before I dive in to the case
The case involves criminal behavior, which includes Incest. I do not approve of such behavior.

The Story of Goel Ratzon (in free translation "The one who saves you by your own will")

Goel Ratzon was born in 1950 in Tel Aviv. According to the verdict (In Hebrew), he married in 1972 his "first official" wife. In 1980 he started his harem with an additional women, which gave birth to 5 children.
Since 1991 till 2010 Goel would actively increase his harem. Number of women involved ranges from 21 (verdict) to 32 (claims of the women involved). He had 49 children (according to the verdict) and the number maybe as high as 89 (claims of the women involved).

Actually I was considering one of his principles of having children with more women. I do have a girlfriend, but may decide to get a younger one in the future. And Mr Chana, whose religious sect has 4,00 members, says he has not stopped looking for new wives.

'To expand my sect, I am willing to go even to the U.S. to marry,' he said.

Still - I would ban polygamy due to a simple reason:

Any wealthy man could have hundreds of wives and this would create a serious imbalance as seen among the Aztecs where more than 50% of men had no women at all (and probably no sex either).

It's not that women wouldn't go for it willingly, it's that for the sake of civilization we have to stop this. Women would prefer to be the wife Nr. 4789 of Leo DiCaprio and see him once a year with some sex in the beginning, than to be married to Mr. Boring but intelligent CFO of a Tech company. We know that women have firmware that is absolutely nuts and would bring us back to the stone age.

We as men have the responsibility to stop most destructive instincts and create a worthwhile civilization. And by stopping it also means to stop guys like that above. Only in extreme male shortages is such a behavior wise.

I agree with you, and I believe this is exactly why marriage and monogamy were invented, to prevent a handful of men to take all the women while the rest of the masses had none, and so avoid constant social unrest, war and chaos.
