Old Atlantic article relates to cuckoldry

Old Atlantic article relates to cuckoldry

I just stumbled upon a very long article from The Atlantic that was published back in 2000, about people who are attracted to limb amputation. I doubt it could/would be published today because of the things the author says about transsexuals (he definitely goes against the Narrative). But I found a lot of it relevant to the sudden popular rise not only of the "trans" movement, but the almost instant popularity of the cuckold fetish.

This is part of what Hacking is getting at, I think, when he talks about semantic contagion. The idea of having one's legs amputated might never even enter the minds of some people until it is suggested to them. Yet once it is suggested, and not just suggested but paired with imagery that a person's past may have primed him or her to appreciate, that act becomes possible...An act has been redescribed to make it thinkable in a way it was not thinkable before. Elective amputation was once self-mutilation; now it is a treatment for a mental disorder. Toss this mixture into the vast fan of the Internet and it will be dispersed at speeds unimagined even a decade ago.

"Semantic contagion" is a very interesting concept that could potentially explain a lot.

I always thought of this idea as "to prime" or "priming" someone.

It works with religion. Get someone while they are young and they might always have the idea of God in their head.

In newspaper/brain washing articles these days it works. For example the clock kid, every article begins --- genius boy invents clock, but Mohammad is arrested instead. That predisposes the reader to like the boy and see racism. In reality the boy is not a genius, did not invent anything and his race was if no concern. But ask nytimes readers and I would wager 100 dollars at least 50 percent are sure he invented a new form of clock and the officer is a racist ( I think the arresting officer was black).

Scary shit.

It's interesting how the article touches on the way a person can be mentally diseased to the point where one's "inner-identity" is inconsistent with his actual identity, and mutilation is required to achieve what he considers congruence with what he wants and what he is. And how these people are vulnerable to exploitation—as every tranny is.

Quote:Quote:

Many people seeking amputations are desperate and vulnerable to exploitation. "I am in a constant state of inner rage," one wannabe wrote to me. "I am willing to take that risk of death to achieve the needed amputation. My life inside is just too hard to continue as is."

Doesn't that describe the trans trend? Talk about a disorder, frame it in an acceptable way, then stylize the mutilation it requires. The "inner rage" will follow, in at least some very at-risk minds.

Only society actively embraces this kind of mutilation and ignores the uncertainty about its origins ("let's say it's a gender identification and not a mental disease!") and the effectiveness of the actual procedure for "curing" the discontent within the afflicted's mind. From the same paragraph as the quote above:

Quote:Quote:

The fact is that nobody really understands apotemnophilia. Nobody understands the pathophysiology; nobody knows whether there is an alternative to surgery; and nobody has any reliable data on how well surgery might work.

What this article deals with is the same exact thing we're dealing with now.

Only a fringe group of radicals grabbed this exportable madness, wrapped it in a protective coating of PC ideology, gave it legal momentum under the guise of it being part of a "new civil rights movement," lauded its victims as heroes, and further stylized it in the media. If apotemnophilia was sponsored like the trans trend is, we'd be seeing a girl with no leg instead of a giant guy with more make up than dick on "Orange is the New Black."
