016: What it has meant for you & thanks to those deserving
At this time of year it behooves the erudite & rational male to reflect upon the year that has been. To understand the events as they unfolded, the forces at play & what that means for our present & tomorrow.

Without doubt 2016 has been the most incredible year I have experienced to date. The education I have received being a member of this forum over the past 4 years has allowed me for the first time to see clearly the machinations of western society.

To have had a red pill front seat to the dramas that have played out all over the world for the past 18 months has been the greatest gift & I thank all of the men on this board who have invested in this place, themselves & others around them.

The way the events of the past 18 months starting with Roosh's World Tour (& the subsequent fallout), The Meetup Day Outrage ™, & Brexit culminating in the election of one Donald J Trump have shaped my understanding of the world around me right now is truly the greatest gift I could ask for. I feel extremely fortunate to have found this place & you men with your generosity of spirit, intellectual camaraderie & philosophical honesty.

I would love to hear from anyone around here about their 2016 & what it has meant for you. Share your thoughts or stories.

Thank you RVF

As the social pendulum swung away from forced political correctness throughout 2016.
Watching the levels of cognitive dissonance on the part of the left has been immensely entertaining.

Since the rise of Trump, I have actually felt optimistic for the future in my entire life. 2016 was an incredible gift from God.

The American voter saved this fucked up country from certain destruction. This will go down in history as an epic watershed moment. I thank God we got one last chance to get it right. May Trump be Reagan 2.0 and lead the world to new heights of achievement.

It was landmark year in both the events of the (human) world narrative and my own personal story.

On the world's narrative as others have pointed out,it seemed to me as it was the "year one" of cyberpunk -echoing SamuelBRoberts here!- what with all the trends becoming visible Internet addiction and security, megacorps ruling every detail of your life,VR goggles (I remember the first sets from the early 90's and how everyone thought it was silly and should be buried but now they came back),governments reduced to decaying puppetry, multi media portable devices, techified sport suits (as in texture, design and even gizmos incorporated).etc
On the political apsect,as apocaliptic as it sounds,it wa snice to see that History had not ended and we poor current adults of this times werent condemned to alifelong status quo as I used to think (in your face, fukuyama!)

My own personal story was no less involving.
It started -literally- with my brother offing himself and through the shit test that it was recovering contact with my family, revisiting many locations and people I met in my time as a vagabond and deciding I would get my sorry ass off the streets ,soldifying my will to sire descendancy (great help from the forum here in both direct and indirect ways,I even had a minor silly meltdown in one time where I believe the feedback here was vital) ,giving up booze and caffeine in one go and... ah well,I'm ranting.

I think 2016 was the year in which I finally learned to not only accept the turning of the wheel of life, but enjoy it as well.

We move between light and shadow, mutually influencing and being influenced through shades of gray...

2016 is the year I took the red pill and finally took action to get my shit together.

It started by stumbling around this forum accidentally. My curiosity about Colombian girls led me to read tremendously valuable stuff about game, life, lifestyle, travel and politics.

Everything seems so clear to me now.

I haven't had a negative thought in weeks, and if I do, I can dodge it in a matter of seconds.

I've come to accept everything that I can't change and embrace failure.

It's ok if you fuck up, learn your lesson and move on. High energy!

2016 started bad for me but ended up amazing. 2017 is gonna be yuge.

This forum saves life.

Looking back, 2016 feels like an eternity. In a good way.

It started with the meet-up outrage in early February. First time I met up with men from the forum, and I would like to give a shout out to SvenTuga, KC4, the Thing and svamp_; meeting you guys was awesome. Speaking your mind without a filter was liberating.

Then Brexit and the election of Trump. At the beginning of this year, who would have even thought it possible? When significant things happen, they happen fast. The meet-up chaos, where we were branded rapists and scum of the earth, and the Trump mania finally led me to disconnect from mainstream media. Good riddance.

Beginning around July I started shitlording friends and family about my real views on politics; ultimately, I think they begrudgingly respect me speaking my mind.

Game-wise, it's been a slow year. A couple of largely forgettable Tinder bangs. Right now having a fling with a foreign girl, she's flying to me for NYE on her dime and I want to check out some of the cool cities in her area.

Also started and failed my first business. Learned a few valuable lessons, two above all: 1. Just because you love doing something, doesn't mean it will be profitable. 2. The return you get are a direct result of the work you put in.
So back to the drawing board. It's fun creating something, but ultimately it has to turn a profit.

Broke new PR's in the gym: 100 kg bench, 130 kg deadlift and 100 kg squat. Been consistent since August and if I miss one workout I feel like a slob.

Life-wise, I had an nasty falling out with a close family member which ultimately taught me a few valuable lessons and made me more resilient. The kind of experience that makes you more empathetic, while also having the strength to act despite feeling intense distress. Hopefully it aids in gaining more self-awareness.

***

All in all, it's been a great year, and the forum has been a direct influence in pretty much all aspects.

Thank you RVF, and here's to an even better 2017. Always forward.

I lost three of my heroes (Prince, Bowie and Ali), but in contrast I landed a regular gig (over 60 gigs this summer, steady income) and I moved out of my hometown to find more gigs and decent music lessons.

So up until April/May, 2016 sucked donkey balls.
Then things started happening like a hurricane, and I know it's only going to get even bigger and better after January.

I guess Norman Peale was right; "change your thoughts, change your world".
Thank God, and this forum, for helping me out with that process.

When many of you have kids and grandkids you will tell them about the great meme wars and how the larger-than-life President Trump won despite the entire world being against him and how it wouldn't have been fair otherwise. I will always remember 2016 being about the righteous prospering and the wicked suffering.

The whole meetup controversy really set the tone for what was to come - I think a lot of people (myself included) got to see the fake news (fka the mainstream media) create a fully false narrative and mobilize leftists, SJWs, and white knights to silence and suppress a group they simply "didn't like". If there were people here that didn't believe that the media was simply inventing narratives and outright lying to protect their favored narrative, there were likely none left after that.

And what a primer for the rest of the year and the similar style of misinformation used against Trump and his supporters. I'd call it divine providence if it weren't for the fact it appeared to be more of a "critical mass" - it's like the echo chamber became so saturated that the entire thing just blew apart on its own and people started to see the lies for what they were.

I see a lot of people on social media sharing memes that casually reference 2016 as the "worst year ever", but it seems to me that for most people I choose to associate with as well as most here have an overwhelming sense that this is all the beginning of something very, very good. Personally through this year I won so much that I had zero doubt on November 8th as I sipped my scotch and smoked my cigar in a bar filled with around 20 Trump supporters watching the biggest win of all.

2016 has been a fantastic year overall and the feeling that we might be entering a new era of prosperity (read: winning) is palpable. I didn't post much here despite reading the Politics and War section on a daily basis, but being a part of this forum for this past year has been a wonderfully rewarding experience. Now it's just time to get to work Making America Great Again. Merry Christmas fellas.

2016 overall was a great year.

-I have knocked a huge chip off my shoulder. It resulted in some nasty behavior that I had at the beginning of the year and it's been improving gradually since then.
-The above has revolved around realizing latent gamma tendencies even though I no longer had a reason for them. It affected my work life more than anything else...
-Mindset has been a regular practice of mine since mid year after reading multiple books and articles on the subject.
-Gratitude for what I have has become one of the most important aspects of my life for well being. There are so many great things about my life and I've had an overwhelming negative focus since my youth. Only gratitude, practiced regularly, has broken this.
-I reached a new level in my day job that has earned me respect and a lot of money compared to when i last moved, to the tune of roughly doubling my salary. My savings are now reaching a decent level. I just need to leverage all of this for things on the side.
-I've continued to make strong gym progress by varying my routine, and have been re incorporating leg work after screwing up my back with multiple doctor visits.
-My game has reached a respectable intermediate level where I'm just having more fun.
-I should have travel opportunities upcoming without having to pay for them myself.
-I've spent time with some great people who by merely existing have shown a better way to approach parts of life. If I didn't have the gratitude practice, such a subtle thing would've slipped me by.

Overall, I'm very happy. Could I have done better? Sure, by spending less time on YouTube and non productive internet usage. But, I've got plans to remedy that based on what is in New World Ronin.

It seems like yesterday, when I was sitting during duty and evaluating 2015 - it was shitty year. Tomorrow I am going to duty, but I will make the evaluation evening before.

+ Good things I can influence
+I got bachelor degree and succesfully finished studium
+I reached my physical peak
+I sucesfully finished selection and was selected for unit I wanted to join
+I moved to my first own flat
+I gathered a lot of wisdom
+I had some good bangs
+I found quality girlfriend

+ Good things I cannot influence
+Trump won president election
+GB left EU

- Bad things I can influence
-I didn´t travel
-Because of my job, I moved to different city (which is much shittier), away from everyone

- Bad things I cannot influence
-Granfather died
-Mom got cancer

Conclusion
Even though bad things happened, these I cannot influence. Everything I wanted to achieve was achieved, so I see this like positive year, much better then 2015.
But I still didn´t find my happiness, I hope next year will happen something what could help me. Beside that, few difficult challenges await me (mostly related to my job), so there´s gonna be a lot of struggle.

Well I found the RVF and set up my account at the beginning of the year. That whole year has been internet heavy to the point of being mildly self destructive, but I had a lot of stuff to get off my chest and a very steep manosphere learning curve to navigate.

2016 was the year that I realised that I was not some lonely kook shouting into the storm, initially when arriving here and later when Trump won the election.

I suppose I will remember it as the year I stopped feeling alone and felt the political wind shift for the first time in my life.

For all its trials and tribulations it will be remembered a grand year to have been alive.

Thanks to everyone that contributes to the forum. Although there are disagreements from time to time, this is as close to a brotherhood as the internet can possibly provide.

It was the year I stopped being a tool that tried to play nice with people that didn't care about and when I actually stepped and did something.

Then Trump won the 2016 election. Bloody good show mate!

This is as good a thread as any to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Roosh, in regard to your year in review.

I can hear how the philosophy of stoicism has helped you this year & strengthened you for the future. Your narrative above really stands as an example to the subject of your podcast on the matter.

My thanks to you & Quintus for pushing this our way.

I do not know how much of the political wins of Donald Trump and Brexit will have but I don't think there will be much difference. I appreciate all your podcasts Roosh, they are great. Keen them coming. One last note, if America ever sees a gun control measure then a global police state is what we will see.
