"You didn't get my text" faking

So it's weird, this has happened a couple times over the past several weeks. A girl goes silent on me in texting, so I wait a few days or a week or something and send a "restart text" that sort of humorously refers to the fact they disappeared. Sometimes they'll answer back and go "Oh! What's up? What? You never got my text?" and then within a few minutes they'll send me a screenshot of a conversation where a response from them is shown that doesn't appear on my phone.

The thing is, I also text friends and family much, much more than I text these random girls, and it's literally never happened in all the thousands of messages I've sent to those folks over the years that I can recall. It just seems to be happening with these girls. It's certainly possible that there's some technical issue lately and my phone is dropping random text messages, but the pattern really seems sort of suspicious.

Call me paranoid, but after some of the shit I've experienced with online dating girls I'd believe almost anything. Isn't there an iPhone app that makes it trivially easy to generate fake conversations?

Maybe your phone or provider is the issue. Sounds like you're being paranoid.

Probably. It's just interesting that it appears to only happen with women whose numbers I've gotten, and not with friends and family who I probably text ten times more. And every time it happened they wanted to send me a screenshot right away. Most "regular" people I've talked with have no idea what cryptic key combination to use to take a screenshot of their phone, and the thought of using that as some kind of "proof" wouldn't even occur to them.

I think this is likely an issue with your phone/provider. Taking a screenshot is trivial to any girl that uses her phone/social media a lot, which is most of them below 30 nowadays. They simply wouldn't reply if they weren't interested in talking to you. Game them and this is definitely a situation where CALLING could be a good alternative. The goal is not to message with them, it's to meet them and close them.

The possibility that it was a tactic to use to make it seem like there was some technological problem, or that it was somehow my fault when in reality they are falling back to me as a backup option when something else didn't pan out definitely occurred to me. It seems there's at least one person who is as cynical as I am.

SMS is not guaranteed and is "best effort", but in general the SS7 protocol:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signalling_System_No._7

is extremely reliable these days. When the only people telling me that messages are getting lost or dumped are prospects I'm chatting with, and it's fine for everyone else (friends, family, business contacts), I get immediately suspicious. As you say, I think it's definitely naive to think they aren't sophisticated enough or just don't care enough to run games on YOU - like the women who you make contact with who want to keep talking with you via text but say "they're going away on vacation with the family this weekend" or "I'm going to be really busy with extra shifts at work until the beginning of next week" and so on. It's all bullshit because they've got a bunch of dudes lined up and they're waiting to see how things pan out, and if something does they'll fade out on you no problem.

Of course, but it's not always logistically possible to meet immediately. And sometimes women change their minds - they get interested, they lose interest, something else they really wanted doesn't pan out, and they get interested again but don't have a good excuse for why they stopped responding.

I do the same shit to girls that I forget about, obviously girls can do it back.

Trust no hoe, but it can be a shitty service/provider. Especially if they Metro PCS or Cricket on an iPhone.

She deletes the text then screenshots it.

I do it all the time.

^^^^

How can you make a screenshot of a text that is already deleted?

Some say a girls slow response / silence is a bad sign.

I say, it's a sign the girl isn't that interested & therefore isn't really worth much or any effort.

C'est la vie. Next.

IMO girls would never waste that much time on a guy they are not interested in. They would simply ignore you;

That and girls are too retarded to do even simple things like that.

It can be a tactics, sure, but I've also had some SMS texts drop and not get delivered, either when I texted someone and then reconfirmed or when people texted me. And I'm not talking about random girls, I'm talking friends or parents having unreceived SMS either from them or from me, so, shit happens. Also seem to be missing this little thing:

It's easy to delete someone's message that you got and say "oh I didn't get your SMS, see?" but it's a bit harder to show a message that you sent out that the other party didn't receive. Not impossible, just prohibitively more annoying to fake to actually bother

Like with most (maybe) excuses, don't think about them much, shit happens and you can't verify it

If it's on whatsapp, it's possible. I've had the same with my mom, who has no idea how phones/apps work and saw the proof on her phone (no screenshot) when i was visiting.

I've also had it reversed where a message I send never got delivered, though later messages were delivered, or opened. Though I think that might happen when people delete the entire conversation before reading it.

Do you have a pretty old phone with low storage capacity? I think that might be the problem with my phone.

You should use this to your advantage OP.
Flip the script and make it seem like you've been busy all week or whatever and haven't had a chance to reply.
Or even better, make up a story and say you text her to hang out for a drink but she missed out. Gauge her interest and then set up a date if she seems into you.
There's a lot of ways to play this, don't get stuck on technicalities.

Girls are players too..much better at phone game than guys.
Dudes hit them up everyday all day.
Women are oh their phones all day.

Women love to screenshot and show their friends lame messages that guys send. There are entire websites for it.

To say that women are too retarded to delete a text and screenshot is a ridiculous statement.

My phone fails to send all the time; all of our family friends have complained of missing texts going both ways. Some deliver a week late & cause all kinds of confusion. The tech could use work; the girls are making effort to save face. Gives you a damn good reason to call.

Are you guys reading the OP? He said that the girl sent him a screenshot from her phone of a text that she sent but that the OP never received.

Reading comprehension is not very good in this thread.

It's not impossible to have a text show as sent that didn't actually get sent, but it's highly unlikely that within a few minutes the girl was able to create the screenshot, unless there's some app that allows this that is new to the scene that I'm not aware of.

Its possible that you are also missing texts from friends and family but you just never notice it because you text them so much that one missing text isn't going to make the conversation stop. If she can show you a text on her phone with an old timestamp that you didn't receive, must be something up with your phone. It just seems very unlikely that multiple girls who don't want to respond to you would go through an elaborate process to prove that she responded when she actually didn't. I guess you could look at one of the phones from your family and see if the messages match up 100%.
