Believe it or not, marketing yourself for social relationships is related to marketing your business for success. In fact, from Tucker’s point of view, they’re almost one in the same. “Dating and sex is [seen as] a battle between men and women, and that’s totally wrong.”

How's that working out for you Tucker? Sold any books lately?

But even with a modern point of view that speaks distinctively with that fratire tone of voice, Tucker Max still experienced the same problem. “I assumed when I wrote the stories that everyone got the subtext,” Tucker says. “[But] the guys didn’t even have a basic foundational set of knowledge about life or about women or about social relationships that they could put my stories into context.”

Tucker implying his entire fanbase are a bunch of basement dwelling aspies while he is a god of game because he banged some skanks.

There's plenty more gems in the article, I didn't even bother to listen to the podcast. I was already pretty hesitant to read James Altucher, because he comes off as a weak man based on his stories involving relationships; I prefer someone with more neomasculine views. This endorsement was pretty much the nail in the coffin for me- RIP James Altucher.

Yeah man, I don't think you're going to find much support here. I've been listening to his podcast lately and it's a goldmine, especially since he gets the guests no other podcast host could dream of interviewing. I also enjoy his writing style and find it funny, unpretentious and sincere. I can see why he would have some haters (I thought he was crazy or lying when I first heard of him), but he's a tough guy to hate. Not to mention the fact that he gets shit done at a ridiculous level.

Edit: I'm talking about James Altucher here. Can't believe I forgot to mention that.

So? Tucker max is a flaming douchebag. Doesn't mean there isn't something to glean from his interesting..ahem.."career". In his case I think there's very little value to 90% of him.

The exception is that Tucker is a master of personal branding and personal marketing.

Doesn't mean he's wrong. Quite frankly, if I hadn't learned game I'd be completely dead in the water in regards to my career right now. Because I did it's relatively easy to transfer the ideas and apply them to the networking process that has me in a position where I've got a good shop at getting a job that even a lot of Harvard/Princeton types can't get.

From a "self employed" perspective I'd reference what Player Supreme has to say on the matter. The guy is very emphatic that the key "game" skill is knowing how to sell yourself and that it does transfer.

I like a lot of what James Altucher has to say. I've read 'Choose Yourself' and the 'Choose YOurself Guide to Wealth', as well as other articles of his. He always presents a unique, contrarian viewpoint on many issues that I think are often on point.

I'm also on his email list and subscribe to his podcast which is how I learned about Tucker's new book. Altucher and Tucker have had a long relationship, as they all run in the same circles. No surprise to see him pushing his book. That said, it shows a lot about Altucher.

Like you said, Altucher comes across as a weak man. Growing up as a Jew on the east coast, I know plenty of these types. Altucher's advice on relatioships is the definition of beta, and he has no clue abut game, so him blindly supporting Tucker shouldn't come as much of a surprise, though James should have done his due diligence.

I also find Tucker Max's whole rebranding humorous. His fan base for 'I hope they serve beer in hell' and related books consisted of the average joe, blue-pill type who wanted to live vicariously through Tucker's stories. But when it comes to actual self-improvement and getting laid these guys are nowhere to be found. THat is why I suspect his book won't sell very well, especially if his website the 'Mating Grounds' is any indication. Tucker is trying to sell self-improvement, dating etc. but he's built himself up on hedonistic shenanigans--the two don't mesh well, especially if you want to come across as an expert on both topics.

Altucher also wrote an email (which will likely be posted as an article soon) about the Pope and his recent visit. It reeked of SJW nonsense. But again, it's always a good idea to listen and read contrarian ideas from intelligent, successful people like Altucher to at least start an internal dialogue on the issue. However, if Altucher keeps going down this path, I won't be following him much longer.

I was in the bookstore this weekend and I saw a copy of his book "How To Be The Man Every Woman Wants."

It's a watered-down red pill mishmash of platitudes pilfered from various manosphere and dating sources, made acceptable for women, of course.

A book of nothing, written by a nothing, for nothings.

I've always thought that James Altucher is a clown.

Here's a response of mine to one of his blog posts: thread-27764...#pid527830
