Influential Men Vol. 2: Michael Ault's life as a luxury club owner and developer

So a while back I did a thread on Rick Rubin, and the response was positive so here's the 2nd entry in a series on influential men. The idea here is not to do a "lifestyles of the rich and famous" but rather the "interesting and innovative" through interviews and choice links.

While some members may not be fans of higher end clubs, or the man that popularized bottle service, there's still a lot of unique history and perspective here. You can also get a glimpse of some the methods used to rise through the ranks of the promoting/nightlife industry.

"Serious jets, too. There was an A380 which was converted to include a pool and basketball court—it was ridiculous."

"What I see here is what I imagined must have happened in the U.S. in the 1880s, in the Gilded Age, when it first took over England in terms of wealth," he says. "It is truly shocking how much wealth there is—and how willing people are to spend it."


There's also been discussions on the forum about increasing access to models and social circles with the most beautiful women, I found a quote from an old 1996 interview that shows Ault's awareness of how important this can be:

So, what was he using the models for? I haven't watched or read all the links, but it sounds like he was basically running a high level escort service with the bar/club used as cover.

If that is basically, semantics aside, what these top tier girls amount to then that lowers them in my mind. Maybe not to the same degree as the porta potty thread but still.

Women these days think they can shop for a man like they shop for a purse or a pair of shoes. Sorry ladies. It doesn't work that way.

Women are like sandwiches. All men love sandwiches. That's a given. But sandwiches are only good when they're fresh. Nobody wants a day old sandwich. The bread is all soggy and the meat is spoiled.

No, that's not what it amounts to. The currency of nightlife is attractive women. Are there attractive women that are prostitutes that work for the nightlife industry? Sure. That goes with the territory of having a bunch of really attractive women around. Providing free stuff to the top tier of attractive women in order to get and keep them coming back to your venues is not the same as running an escort service at all. That's a huge jump to that conclusion.

Next let's call college bars that advertise discounts for girls (or places that don't charge cover for women) escort services and prosecute them.

There is a reason that young pretty girls can post on social media and ask for help fixing their computer, finding a place to live for way under market value, or getting a ride to the airport and get a WAY higher response rate and results. It's called thirst.
