A concern with one of Rosh's presented routine in his book "Bang"

Hi!

In his book Rosh is presenting in the chapter "Routines" one of his favorite routine where he is asking a woman if she prefers dogs or cats and if the woman would answer that she likes dogs more, then Rosh would start his routine:

Basically he would tell her then playfully that he has a good and a bad news -> the bad news would be that in this case it will not work out between them, and Rosh needs to break up because he prefers cats"
The good news would be something totally meaningless and something which has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of him breaking up.
For Instance Rosh would tell her that yesterday he saved a lot of money by saving an insurance.

I personally love this routine and use it all the time (it makes really fun^^).
Though I often use it already during the "qualification-stage" where I would often ask her if she regularly goes to the gym exercising cause I feel with this topic more congruent as I am myself lifting (like 7 of 10 women say in my experience "No" - kinda surprisingly actually when you think about it because they could just lie and qualify themselves, but from the way they response to this question it almost seems to me that many women are almost proud of being too chilled in order to hazzle in the gym, as crazy as it sounds^^ - lol, but ok, this would be another topic).

And then I start the routine.
The thing is now, though I love to deliver the first part of this routine (the bad news) and I really enjoy it, as well as love to see how the women enjoy it as well,
I kinda do not enjoy to deliver the second part (the god news) as much and also from my experience (and I have ran this routine on countless of women) many women actually do not respond anymore so well to this second part.

I have been always using the same kind of humor as Rosh does in his routine, by providing as the good news something what is totally irrelevant to the bad news and kinda "who the fuck would care about this- like", but I have used some variations of it.

But still it seems so far to me that most women just do not respond to this kind of humor (at least not in this situation as a second part of this type of routine) so well, in general.

So I wonder if maybe here some people have used this routine with another kind of humor regards to the second part (good news) and have made better experiences than me?

I would be thankful for any insights and ideas!^^
Overall the routine still is just working amazingly great - that's why I love it[Image: smile.gif]

If they're not responding to it, then adjust it slightly so it fits in with your local culture's expectation of what is funny.

"routines" have a way of getting around, and she may have heard it before -- more than once.
Even if she hasn't you're not an actorreading a script. A routine is more of an example. Adjust and improvisetofit you.

Oh my god I have missed one "O" in his name , so of course the first 4 responses have to be offtopic spam.
I think 1 is ok and fun, but 4? come one gentlemen^^

It is too late to edit it by the way.

Anyways,
@The Beast:
A slight adjustment would be to still use the same type of humor but to use some variations.
For instance you could provide as the good news something like "Yesterday I had trouble with my car, but today it already got fixed" or "today I had a really tasty lunch"

It just seems that the whole kind of humor does not hit on women to well, on average.
At least from my experience so far.

His name is literally the domain of the website you are on. It's in huge letters on the homepage.

Attention to detail - which after reading your post is most likely part of your problem. You sound might be a bit too obsessed with and relying on other people's routines and different "stages" of game. Really needs to become more fluid for you to get the results you're looking for. What works for you outside of routines? What makes you interesting aside from a few phrases or one liners? Focus on and enhance that aspect of your game.

That is a good spot on your side.
In my certain business niche I have created over the years a lot of success.
Due to the fact that this certain niche is psychological very demanding, it is very common that performers in this area at some point will hire one of the top mindset coaches/psychologists in order to work with them and improve aspects like motivation, emotional stability, discipline, etc.

So I have also ended up hiring one of the top big names in 2013 and one of the first two "mindset-leaks" he has spotted have been that I strive too much for perfectionism and am looking for the "detail in the devil" and that I compare my own situation too much with the situation of other people.

So I understand and I know that creating my own style of game is the crux and I am doing it and love it actually.
But still, when I observe some material from others which I like but I find one tinny point not optimal, then I wanna look for ways to optimize it.

Hence the thread here.
Of course it it not a big deal, but in my opinion still a little bit interesting to exchange experiences and ideas on this one.
I mean, in general in PU-forums you can find a lot of threads in the newbie section where users are posting their struggling attempts to hook up with a target and those threads are of course important because then more experienced users can help directly in the situation.
Still there are hardly threads where people actually discuss and go over some concrete material and "game-strategies" (more in an analytical way) in order to try to improve and optimize them.

Maybe in the end there is just not a lot demand for it, even though personally I would find it interesting.

The questions you have provided should everyone ask himself and are good questions to reflect on your own and build up your mindset.
But again, they do not have a lot to do with "outergame".
Of course they are still important.

I know that in the long run innergame is way more important than outergame, but also the latter one is just interesting to me and in my view deserves more attention withing the sphere.

Very interesting analysis, Hextn.

I think what Gmac is saying is that by building your inner game , you're really giving yourself more to bait women with in conversation. "Inner game" and "outer game" aren't mutually exclusive. (And he never mentions inner game--I think he's saying improve yourself and be a more dynamic person/conversationalist rather than rest on routines. Outer game is more than memorized lines.)

Good game in general has a lot to do with being able to draw on a repertoire of information to strike up a conversation and keep it going, whether day or night. "Outer game" is mostly conversation skills, which are better applied with genuine, organic experiences rather than someone else's experiences and talking points. The part of Gmac's reply I put in bold really sums up what you should work on for "outer game."

Inner game/self-improvement/being interesting=game. Routines only=superficial song and dance that will prop you up for a few seconds until your routine runs dry.
