Boy Arrested For STEM Skills

They didn't evacuate the school - like you do when there's a bomb. They didn't call a bomb squad - like you do when there's a bomb. They didn't get as far away from him as possible - like you do when there's a bomb. Then they put him and the clock in an office - not like you do when there's a bomb. Then they waited with him for the police to arrive, and then they put the clock in the same car as the police. Then they took pictures of it. Then uploaded it to social media. Then every media outlet and public figure sympathized with the kid and inviting him to prestigious offices (Facebook, Microsoft et cetera) and places (as far as the White House).

Just because he got arrested for a "crime" he didn't commit?

Also, Microsoft giving them all that stuff is just a smart move from their side. It cost them maybe 3000$ in "lost" equipment whilst the returned marketing value is much, much greater than they would get with traditional advertising. They were on pretty much on every tech outlet, Reddit frontpage, Twitter trending et cetera for 3000$ and a very well aligned picture.

Looks like the hoax angle of this story is gaining traction in alternate news circles. Real engineers have looked at the clock and called it dubious.

I bet if little Ahmed was at down and told to re-do his "experiment" he would be clueless. Kid isn't engineer or stem worthy.

I was fooled.

Ahmed's father is a politician who has run for president of Sudan and has also done publicity stunts before. This was all staged by him. For what purpose, we'll probably find out soon enough. I'd pay attention to him and see where this goes in the near future.

Everything about it is suspicious. Ahmed didn't have a school project and just randomly decided to bring his "homemade" clock in. And it wasn't even homemade; he just unscrewed the housing and taped the clock guts to the inside of a pencil case. Almost certainly with the help of his father, who made sure it looked *just* enough like a bomb to arouse suspicion but still give themselves plausible deniability.

So then he brings it into school, even though it wasn't a school project, and shows it to his science teacher, who has nothing to do with this. He says "nice clock" or whatever and Ahmed goes on to his next period where he shows his next teacher. Etc etc etc. It's not until the 6th teacher, an English teacher soccer mom who knows nothing about electronics, that anything happens. First he has the clock set up to start beeping during class, but the beeping is ignored and nothing happens. Then, after that doesn't work, he brings it to the teacher to show her. Ahmed doesn't say anything, he just silently shows it to her without explaining what it is, and refuses to say anything else to the teacher. So she gets worried and gets the principle. Ahmed also refuses to explain what it is to the principle. So they're pretty much forced to call in a bomb threat because of how purposefully obtuse Ahmed is being. And the rest is history.

Oh, and during interviews you can see/hear other people mouthing/whispering to Ahmed and instructing him what to tell reporters. And when the reporter asks a question that threatens to reveal the ruse, he just stammers like an autist and then one of his family/people step in and tell them to back off.

I'd keep an eye on Ahmed's father to see where this goes. Only then will we know what the plan was from the start.

Or, you know, they just hate him for his "STEM skills".

What is most important is the speed of which falsehoods like this travel. I saw it in several European newspapers and on Facebook in different countries.

Truth doesn't matter anymore to news media, they print everything and comment on everything and they just want shares and pageviews like everyone else. It's the Gawker model turned way worse. Everyone now have accepted this reality.

What we see then is how incredibly easy it is for a couple of well connected Twitter people to spread lies like wildfire into the world's newsmedia.

Social media is a massive cancer now, I can fully understand why China keeps it under control.

Pretty frightening when you consider the power Jorge holds as the lead anchor of the number #1 Spanish network Univision.

White boys have been arrested at school for chewing pop tarts in the shape of a gun in the name of zero tolerance policies that leftists dreamt up.

Even if this story were true - the blame for such an overreaction goes back on the leftists who proposed such outrageous zero-tolerance policies in the first place.

Yeah I came across this today ( http://www.wnd.com/2015/09/muslim-boys-c...ys-expert/ ).

I think the left has made a mistake on this one. They've gone just a bit too far. It's just too much suspension of disbelief for people to say this is all legit. I think this is just going to make the general public more aware they are being tricked, rather than raise more Muslim sympathy.

This is the information I've read:
The kids father is a Muslim activist. Then the kid just decides one day to:
- Pull apart a commercial alarm clock
- Stuff it into a metal pencil box, calling it an 'invention'
- Bring it to school and show it to as many teachers as he can.
- He had it beeping during the class and wouldn't explain to the teacher what it was
- He then gets arrested, and is seen in photos with his family saying 'going to meet with his lawyer', all smiling
- It then immediately goes viral, and the President invites him to the whitehouse, and gets other invitations from Zuckerberg and NASA.
- This all just happens to occur during the European muslim invasion

I don't think most people are going to fall for this one. They've made a real mistake thinking they could fool the public so easily - at the very least they could have used realistic looking home electronics. It's just going to bring attention to the nature of the left, raise attention to the devices they use to control minds, and increase the ranks of those who will be part of the eventual backlash.

Something is definitely in the air. I watched Roosh's video and my feelings are the same as his - there is definitely a faint smell of the tide turning in the air. I hope this isn't wishful thinking. May the Right return.

I've built many home tech type projects like the above, and have had printed circuit boards professionally made in small quantities for my bigger projects.

I agree with the previous engineer's comments. This whole thing is total bullshit.

Also, "Dawkins eventually retreated. He devoted tweets to questioning police motives and tweeted a reference to the new leader of Britain’s opposition Labour party: “Sorry if I go a bit over the top in my passion for truth. Not just over a boy’s alleged ‘invention’ but also media lies about J[eremy] Corbyn.”

Dawkins is a gigantic panzy. If you have a passion for truth you don't back down over some online heat. If you have a passion for truth you look like Mike C and Roosh who won't back down for anything.

taking stuff apart and putting it together is how young boys get started down the stem path.

The teachers , police didnt think it was a bomb for more than 10 seconds at most, otherwise, they would have evacuated the school, called the bomb squad, gotten as far away from the "bomb" as possible. they did none of these things.

Agreed, Dawkins is a spineless wimp. Though it's charming that the whole thing is cracking at the seems with calling calling BS.

I wonder if we'll see the Don come out and call it a hoax. Someone with balls and enough media attention will say it eventually.

How many boys have gotten suspended/expelled/arrested for bringing toy guns to school? For having spent brass in their backpacks? The only reason we're hearing about this is the kid is one of the protected class.
Man this takes me back. When I was about ten, my mates and I were playing some war game at school using hockey sticks or whatever we could find as guns. One morning this kid turned up with a gun he had made over the weekend out of a vaguely stock shaped bit of plank with a length of broom handle nailed to it.
Needless to say, the rest of us were mighty impressed.
I immediately set to work on my own "proper" gun.
I traced around my friend's daisy air rifle and got my grandfather to rough out the shape from a slab with a chainsaw, then I spent hours and hours shaping it up with a farriers rasp and some offcuts of emery paper until it was ready for a few coats of leftover clear lacquer from the garage. The barrel was made from a piece of water pipe that I also polished up with emery and lacquered. I was so fucking proud. I took it to school and made it until recess before it was confiscated.
The principal sat me down in the office and told me that it was "too realistic" and if somebody was driving past and saw me with it they might freak out and call the police. He gave it back to me at the end of the day to take home on the school bus. This was 25 years ago. About 5 years later I made a rifle stock from the same paper template as a major high school project. My woodwork teacher was well aware it was for a real firearm, he was interested and encouraging. Imagine that nowdays.

I had a "discussion" with a friend who is an electrical engineer about this and he was so overwhelmed with social justice warrior anger he wouldn't admit that the boy didn't make anything. He kept saying the boy made a clock even after showing him the video.

His arguments kept getting more an more convoluted so that he could keep being on the side that the people at the school are racist, bigots, but he's not, he understands.

My main argument was, schools have a zero tolerance law. If they suspect anything, the student has to be suspended. Kids point their fingers and say bang and get suspended. If you brought a hoax bomb to school, it's the same as a hoax pistol.

After he lost this argument he kept saying it was wrong to get the police involved.

I think that even really intelligent people become primed by the first news story, " genius kid creates clock, evil teachers are racist" and after that the idea is set. No matter what people show them, the nytimes got to them first. I'm really depressed my good buddy has stopped thinking for himself.

After reading up on the links provided and the videos:

-As a man we have to accept where we're wrong, I've got to apologize to you all on here.
-Roosh is right and so are the others on here.
-The racism I experienced in the past, clouded my judgement.
-It's pretty clear that you can just whip this out of an old alarm clock after seeing the videos.
-I think I have one of these old clocks and I'll take it apart tonight, I'll post a photo of it taken apart.
-After seeing the video, clearly this isn't STEM style - especially after Talbot showing a protoboard of his own clock.
-There obviously is some narrative, maybe the kid wanted to be validated and feel smart at school, maybe his dad put him up to this.
-I'm not sure if his father is some Islamic Militant (he is vocal about his religion, which is fine), reading his interview doesn't lead me to believe so.

Other than that, who knows what's going on why that kid brought it to school.

The amount of outrage in such a short amount of time is interesting - this is the fastest spreading story I've seen this year.

I must look like an idiot on the last few pages.

Stupid Jorge doesnt get the fact he is being trolled by this kids family just like everybody else.
Ahmeds dad was hoping for a much worse reaction from the school than he got. The school was much more chill than the swat response he was banking on. The dad is bad news.

If anything, this is a testament to the power of SJW propaganda. I'll admit that when I first heard this story I would have sided with Ahmed too, before I knew all the details.

Most people will believe what authority figures say by default. This is why it's dangerous when our enemies control the media and conspire to keep differing views out of the limelight. Thankfully they're pushing way too hard as of late and in the age of the internet it's easier to debunk their bullshit.
