Fuck this. Fuck this forever. Take a look at the video description from the link in the OP:

In a chic black-and-white commercial, models Elly Mayday, Ashley Graham, Victoria Lee, Justine Legault, Candice Huffine and other women of all shapes and sizes show off their curves in Lane Bryant lingerie. They discuss how it's time that real, fashion-forward women deserve to be celebrated as they strut their stuff.

Models. MODELS.

I don't want to slam the ad too hard. We are making progress against so-called International Leaders in Fat Shaming (ie, 'Doosh V'). But using models sets an unrealistic standard for beauty that makes young fat girls lose their confidence. These women in the commercial are the upper echelon in Western society when it comes to attractiveness. How can you compare these models with unattainable genetic gifts to the regular modern American woman? Let's do a thought experiment. Imagine you are a young girl with curves living in North Carolina. As you are unwinding after a long day of work in your cubicle by enjoying some sweet, sticky all-you-can-eat gluten free Baby Back Ribs at the local Golden Corral Buffet, you look up to the TV and see this advertisement. Sure, the #PlusIsEqual hashtag inspires some confidence, but that would be quickly quashed when you see the beautiful Cover-Girls promoting the message. A tragic story that is all too common in today's society that only cares about a woman's appearance, not what's on the inside.

That's why I personally believe that the most powerful hashtag movement of the last 100 years was when Dr Oz proclaimed to the world that you can be healthy at ANY weight. And the most important thing is that Dr Oz didn't feel the need to bring on the future wave of Sports Illustrated Models on to promote it - he got the message across with beautiful everyday women. That's why I'm #OzBodyPositive and not #PlusIsEqual!

In the clip the narrator says "no one is ignoring us anymore".

These women are so lucky they are living in the Anglosphere, where even overweight women receive attention from men who are several points higher than them on the attractiveness scale. If these women were living anywhere else, especially East Asia or South East Asia, no man would waste even 5 seconds speaking to them.

Plus is equal? Maybe the reason they're fat is that they think that 1 donut plus 1 donut equals 1 donut. [Image: lol.gif]

I'm pretty sure this is a typo or the graphic design people accidentally chopped out half the logo. I think it should read:

It's like everything they do is a repetition of something they've already done, brainwashing as much as possible and you'd think the population would not fall for this but most people are illiterate

There's curvy, there's chubby, and then there's fat.

Some people can pull off curvy, some can do chubby (but they're not in a category of people I would look at in anything other than friends), and fat? Don't make me laugh.

I also notice these people have to draw attention to themselves. Apparently it doesn't come naturally.

Can we find a decent medium? Anorexia has its problems, but so does obesity.

More powerful than #LondonSolidarity that Churchill started tweeting during the great Blitz?

More powerful than the #NoVietnameseCalledMeNigger flying around in the Civil Rights era?

It's like these fatties have no appreciation for history whatsoever.

She's also forgetting #SupportAmendment19 from 1920. That Twitter campaign, along with millions of people superimposing a female symbol over their Facebook profile picture, was what eventually persuaded congress to pass the bill granting universal women's suffrage.

Man the advertisers are some smart mofos man! Every time they make an ad to promote plus size, they take women that just started becoming too fat from where they were originally, so they somewhat look ok when they make the ad. But if you'd make a fallowing ad with the same women 5 years down the line... well Good luck with that

Is this satire?

Any doctor who says the phrase "You can be healthy at any weight" should have his license revoked. That's like saying "You can be healthy on any drug" or "It's safe to drive at any speed."

As a society, we have gotten so far removed from reality that we now have doctors saying it's OK to be obese. Heroin users are more honest with themselves.

(I need to qualify that last sentence. I had an ex who became a junkie and hung around some of these people. Me: "Why do you use heroin?" Them: "It's the best feeling in the world!" Gotta give them points for honesty.)

WTF is going on!! And the guys who liked the comment!!!???? Posters who are repped and with substantial posting history! I wish I could say he was hacked but with all the likes from the comment? komatiite is an obvious troll, but I'm actually going to take some time to respond, kinda sorta...

I remember many years ago I was riding my bike. A group of teenagers pulled up next to me, and one of the kids goes "damn you fat." They rode off and laughed.

I felt shitty about getting punked by a teenager with no real rebuke. Instead of drowning my sorrows in McDonalds, the next day I got my ass back into the gym, started managing my calories, and stopped eating like shit. I had zero money, but managed to use the crappy gym at my school. I bought cheap frozen fish and vegetables for almost every meal. A few months later I had lost around 30lbs and felt great.

I could have been pissed off at the kid for "fat shaming", but he actually did me a solid and motivated my ass to get into the gym. God bless him.

As for models...

Models set the the standard of physical excellence. When I think of how I want to look, I think of Gerard Butler from 300 or Russell Crowe in Gladiator. Will I ever look like that? Probably not. But it's motivation to get in the gym, work hard, and eat right. Just like if I were a football quarterback, I would look up to Joe Montana, Steve Young, John Elway, and Peyton Manning. They set the standard for excellence in football.

"Fat acceptance" is a pathetic movement to lower the standard to which we strive, simply to make everyone feel better about themselves. It's a movement to shame excellence and celebrate mediocrity.

Do you want to be excellent, or mediocre?

I figured the "Doosh V" and "most important hashtag activism in the last 100 years" lines would have tipped off the fact I was trying to make light of the situation!

Sometimes when faced with things as ridiculous as these "body positive" internet campaigns, all you can do is poke fun at the state of our modern culture.

^ If fat women are so beautiful how they are, then why is everything about this commercial designed to hide their weight?

- Why are they all wearing black? Black is the absence of colour, allowing no visible light to reach the eye. It's considered 'slimming' to wear because it doesn't reflect light, therefore there are no visible highlights on the body to ruin the illusion of it being a two-dimensional plane.

- Why are they shot in high contrast black and white? This evens out skin tones, which hides cellulite.

- Why are they wearing control-top pantyhose? This hides sagging Fupas / Gunts.

Therefore, fat women are only beautiful, if they lie about their presentation. [Image: tard.gif]

I was just looking at the post I made last night on this thread and started thinking...

Yeah, it was an attempt at some callous humor. I wasn't being serious, but I was initially shocked to see the angry comments about it this morning. I never wrote a disclaimer that the post was to be in jest, so I can see why guys like Atlanta Man (whose honesty in the Delicious Taco comment section and here on the forum was greatly appreciated to me) went on the offensive. Honestly, my first thought was "man, these guys are fucking retards because they don't get my hilarious joke."

Then I took a step back. I looked at my comment history in the last few months here at RVF and all I'm doing is posting shit on the Donald Trump thread, politics, decline of western culture, SJWs, etc. Just becoming the embodiment of some right-wing internet warrior, and getting increasingly stressed out about the state of our society. I quit drinking a few months ago after failing to do so a bunch of times, and I often find myself isolating from others, fucking around on the internet, and getting all riled up about many of the topics posted on the 'Everything Else' page here at the forum. I guess I am doing it because I am bored without boozing, but in many ways, getting all agitated and fired up about political and cultural shit that I cannot control won't do me any good either.

i joined this forum because I liked Roosh's blog, and I noticed Scotian's oil thread and figured I could contribute since I have tons of education and experience in that field. But things have slowed down there due to the low oil prices, and instead of posting other helpful shit in the Lifestyle, Travel and Game forums, I'm just sitting here posting about goddamned fat girls.

I'm in the middle of the Rocky Mountains right now and it's a beautiful fucking day out. A buddy told me that he was catching tons of rainbow trout in a nearby river on Thursday evening, so I'm going to slip my hip waders on and try my luck out on the stream. I got a cute girl who I've been getting close to, but I've pussied out in sealing the deal. We are supposed to hang out later, and I need to step up. I fucked my leg up this summer when I slipped climbing a big storage tank at work, and it's pretty much cured now, but I still haven't gotten back into my workout routine. And I have a stack of historical books I've been meaning to crack open, but instead I find myself fucking around reading the forum before going to sleep each night and putting it off.

I've gotten a lot out of the forum, but now it's time to start living it. This was the wakeup call I've needed - there's no need to immerse myself any further in bullshit like the decline of society because at the end of the day, all I can do is manage my own life to the best of my ability. As much as it hurts to actually admit this, I just haven't been living my life to the fullest, and as a consequence, I just don't have much else to contribute to the forum because I've been all talk and no action lately.

Best of luck to you all, wherever you're at right now. And thanks to all of the posters here who have given me a different perspective on how to live my life to the fullest.
