Saw this commercial on CNBC this morning. Maybe I read too much into things but with all the rhetoric flying around left and right, it is a bit unsettling.

Has anybody heard anything from President Obama regarding his stance on the proper leadership in Syria? I find it confusing that his cabinet is against Assad, but have yet to state whom they want in control. Removing him seems like it would create a negative vacuum for power. An ISIS controlled Syria could be devastating on a global scale.

Wait, are you expecting some sort of non-schizophrenic approach to foreign relations from Obama?

Last I heard we were dropping tons of ammo for some "rebels", and then debating how many special forces to send to meet up with said rebels and find out exactly who they are. Or something like that...

If only you knew how bad things really are.

Not to forget Libya, with regards to the bloodlust the West has at the moment.

Tony Blair, former British Prime Minister says if it wasn't for the NATO campaign in Libya, it would be a certainty Islamic State would have their hands on chemical weapons and have the capacity to use them.

This man, a former Middle East peace envoy, can say with a straight face how Libya is more stable now that Qaddafi is dead and gone, his iron grip removed and thousands of rebels and terrorists roaming freely around a country, allowing those in Egypt free reign across the border.

What a piece of shit. There is no fighting this national level of ignorance. You basically need a massive war to bring people to their sense.

A conclusive approach would be nice. There hasn't even been an "end goal" described.

It will be a cold day in hell before any major western news source plays this speech. He demolished their narrative in less than 5 minutes.

The Middle East was much more stable with despots like Ghadaffi and Hussein in power. To not understand this is to be either truly ignorant or blind.

Whether you admire or hate Putin you have to respect his ability to confront western main stream media and consistently reply with logical, witty statements. He is very cool under pressure and you can detect this guy is light years ahead of western politicians in terms of intelligence. I always make it a point to watch his interviews.

I've always thought his judo training has something to do with this. Keeping it cool under pressure and adequately responding to every opponent's move is something that comes almost naturally to Putin.

Like most talented judokas, V. Putin likes strategy and counter-attacks, and takes his time to win. But, I think that in Syria, he'll try to quickly crush his enemies... I mean, Putin does like intelligent long-term strategy, and usually doesn't use quick and brute force, but with ISIS, gloves are off and he'll fight like in MMA: no more subtle judo strategies here...

Texas Plumber Sues Dealer After Traded In Truck, With His Advertising, Ends Up With Syrian Jihadis
Quote:Quote:

Many car buyers don’t like it when car dealers put hard to remove dealer decals on their new cars. Now a Texas plumber is suing a dealer for not removing decals advertising his plumbing business from a traded-in truck. When Mark Oberholtzer, who owns Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City, Texas, traded in his Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup on a new truck at AutoNation Ford Gulf Freeway in October 2013, he says he started to remove the decals — but a dealer employee stopped him.

Oberholtzer now claims, in a $1 million lawsuit recently filed against the dealer, that a salesman said removing the decals would blemish the paint and the dealer had “something better for removal”. A little more than a year later, Oberholtzer’s secretary alerted him to a photograph of his truck that had gone viral. Ansar al-Din, one of the Islamic jihadist groups fighting in Syria’s civil war, had tweeted out a photo of the truck complete with Mark-1’s name and phone numbers — but the truck was now equipped with an anti-aircraft gun mounted in the bed manned by masked jihadis. The tweet was accompanied by the message “‘using plumbing truck against regime in #Aleppo”.

Saudi Arabia announces 34-state Islamic military alliance 'against terrorism'

Quote:Quote:

Saudi Arabia on Tuesday announced the formation of a 34-state Islamic military coalition to combat terrorism, according to a joint statement published on state news agency SPA.

"The countries here mentioned have decided on the formation of a military alliance led by Saudi Arabia to fight terrorism, with a joint operations center based in Riyadh to coordinate and support military operations," the statement said.

A long list of Arab countries such as Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, together with Islamic countries Turkey, Malaysia, Pakistan and Gulf Arab and African states were mentioned.

The announcement cited "a duty to protect the Islamic nation from the evils of all terrorist groups and organizations whatever their sect and name which wreak death and corruption on earth and aim to terrorize the innocent."

Shi'ite Muslim Iran, Sunni Saudi Arabia's arch rival for influence in the Arab world, was absent from the states named as participants, as proxy conflicts between the two regional powers rage from Syria to Yemen.

RT:
Countries involved in the coalition aside from Saudi Arabia, include Jordan, the UAE, Pakistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Turkey, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, Djibouti, Senegal, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Gabon, Guinea, the partially-recognized state of Palestine, the Islamic Federal Republic of the Comoros, Qatar, Cote d’Ivoire, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Maldives, Mali, Malaysia, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Yemen.

“The countries here mentioned have decided on the formation of a military alliance led by Saudi Arabia to fight terrorism, with a joint operations centre based in Riyadh to coordinate and support military operations,” state news agency SPA quoted an official statement as saying.

Ladies and gentlemen, you have just seen the creation of the first large scale Muslim empire since the days of Caliphate. Unless someone out here actually thinks this JOC is actually going to be used to combat terror and rather to undermine the operations of Western nations in every single one of these mentioned countries?

How convenient.

A military coalition led by Saudi Arabia who is actually a sponsor of terrorism worldwide. First steps in spreading islamism and forming the concept of a "world caliphate" through military force.

True, and a brilliantly presented argument because Putin doesn't have 500B USD to spend annually on his military, so the world can never know what would happen if he did.

Central African Republic doesn't have 10,000 nukes, so the world can never know what would happen if it did. That doesn't make the statement that the CAR presents no nuclear threat to the world in any way disingenuous. So no, Putin's argument was not "brilliantly presented," it was a simple statement of fact.

(A) We had 50B USD to spend
and
(B) We spent 50B USD
are not equivalent but also are not mutually exclusive.

That is the trick to Putin's argument. Do you really think they stopped strategic air operations because they wanted to be good world citizens? They couldn't afford to maintain the aircraft!

The video is brilliant propaganda, for which I give Putin credit, but Russia doesn't really hold moral high ground as presented.
