In the new James Bond novel "Trigger Mortis", Bond has a live-in girlfriend who is strong and independent and a sassy gay friend.
Here's a choice quote from the article"

On the challenges of making Bond work for modern readers, Horowitz said he had realised there was an issue with the original plot, in which Pussy Galore is a lesbian who is overcome with lust for Bond.
"One of the challenges of writing the book was that attitude that a heterosexual man can change a woman's life and make her go weak at the knees,” he told radio station RTE.
"That's something that would be challenged, I think, in the 21st century.

I will skip the book and the movie. Bond is a fantasy, it does not need SJW style preaching in it. Smoking and womanizing is bad, mmmmmmkay!?

The irony of Horowitz being praised for "dragging Bond kicking and screaming into the era of political correctness" when he was just in the crosshairs for calling Idris Elba "too street to play Bond" is amusing.

Bond? A girlfriend? That lives with him?

What a joke. Do they even know the character?

I've never read a Bond novel, but if I ever do get around to it, I will only read the stuff written by his creator Ian Fleming.

He had a housemaid, but IIRC she was old enough to be his mother or grandmother.

Not give a damn about who you offend. And if you're going to square a circle you're going to get a square and not a circle. Pick which one you want: A Circle or a Square.

Judging from the rest it sounds like the author is going to go Goldeneye (the film, not the video games) and criticize James Bond's lifestyle on an almost meta level.

Fleming pulled it off!

And this is from someone who hasn't paid much attention to the series in almost 10 years.

In the book 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', Bond was married.

And almost immediately killed. In the movie anyway.

They knew Bond had to remain a cocksman.

Plus in that movie he was dressed in a kilt and was the prototype for Austin Powers. Too bad Lazenby wasn't in more Bond films.

Like Superman, they know the character very well, they just hate everything he stands for.

Bond is a confident, womanizing man-of-action? We'll make him neutered by a "strong" woman and preached to by a flamboyant fag.

It was going to happen sooner or later.

First Craig's bond started showing his 'feeeeeelings', and I knew it was heading in this direction.

The fact is, these lefties create nothing, they only destroy. They're worthless people and they know it, that's why they want to bring everyone else down to their level.

Bond is a character men admire and like to identify with, so of course the SJW crowd feels the need to give him a makeover.

But it's telling no one feels the need to do this sort of "progressive preaching" when it comes to the same sort of men that women admire: The ones in romance novels. Why hasn't there been an effort to make the muscular, macho leads in those books more sensitive and/or realistic? Where is the book where Christian Grey has been re-written to be more like Dr. Oz?

Why is it always the men they feel the need to preach to? After all, if all the women's literature showcased men who were sensitive, new-agey types, men would fall into line knowing that's what women wanted. Then no one would have to re-envision James Bond, because it would be a given that he'd be different.

Of course, this will never happen. It's only the men who society feels the need to "enlighten."

As a musical diversion, here's the Specials doing a song inspired by James Bond films. I don't think the new model James Bond will get such a tribute.

The only way to win against SJWs is to not buy the shit they ruin. That's it. The powers that be want to promote the degeneracy they push and we don't have a megaphone big enough to rival theirs.

I was happy that the new Fantastic Four movie was a gigantic flop. I hope the New Star Wars crap flops and I hope all pozzed Bond stuff flops.

The Fleming novels are absolutely brilliant. I own all of them, and I've read most of them. The writing is great, but it doesn't drone on. The character is very interesting, and Daniel Craig's version in Casino Royale is the closest (in personality) that I've seen. Highly recommended reads.

As I said in the thread about Star Wars, 1.6% of the US population is gay therefore according to SJW math that means there has to be a gay character in everything.

I'll also say, again, instead of fucking up yet another established franchise, why can't they just create something on their own? Can't men just enjoy something created by a man for hetero men, especially something like James Bond?

If they want to create a gay spy with Lindy West as their sassy friend, go for it. Just like with a manly James Bond who is a single womanizer that they can choose not to see, I can choose not to see that (thankfully).

I don't understand this need to constantly encroach on our space.

Suggested titles for upcoming 007 books:

On Her Majesty's Secret Servicing
Dr. No Without Affirmative Consent
Thunderthighs
Octopenis (too obvious, sorry)
The Spy Who Loved Me and My Cabana Boy

Seriously though, Fleming's original novels were a gold standard of pacing and character building with the written word. It's a shame to see a pop culture icon being destroyed like this.

Bond's been hit with "diversity" for a while now, so this isn't really a surprise.

As far as I'm concerned, though Casino Royale was good, the (film) franchise could have ended with The World is Not Enough.

The pic of this herb's wife explain everything, shocker.[Image: dodgy.gif]

"New James Bond author Anthony Horowitz admitted his wife was behind the editing out of sexism in the latest novel Trigger Mortis. The writer said that remaining attractive to a modern audience, given the main character's attitude to women, was one of the hardest things to do. Horowitz said his wife went over the first draft and was 'angry' about some of the things he written.

He told the Radio Times: 'My wife Jill Green, who is the producer of Foyle's War, read the first draft and was quite angry about some of the language and some of the words I used and the descriptions.

'And she was right as she always is and I had to cut back and cut back. I had to really bring it back over the line again. Bond's whole attitude to women, although it's part of his character it doesn't really play very well these days.'
