The X-Files Is Making A Comeback On TV

Very nihilistic. Molder doesn't believe, but Scully does in a way. And this week episode they had a tranny thrown in it, and made a comment linking it to the weeks monster too. Last week it was a fag with bloody eyes. I wonder what degenerate character they will throw in next week? Lesbian dragon? Pedophile vampire? I do like the Australian character though, his story was nuts.

Holy shit...until I fell over of having been drained of all of my humors.

My only celebrity crush is on Gillian Anderson.

In my mind, she's a true beauty. Though, some of the posted pictures of her, on this thread, I hold to be pretty bad. I think that she generally looks better in pictures and on television. She definitely looks best with her natural hair color as well. Neither Scully Red nor the science-y bob cut do her any favors.

In her middle age, she's only gotten stunningly MILF-y having kept a young woman's slim figure. She's had a little work done, it seems, but I can live with it.

If you didn't know. You can watch the episodes on fox.com if you are American or sign in with your cable service.

You can also easily use a proxy.

Or do what those of us who live in countries where we'd miss out on - or be several seasons behind - do with TV shows, torrent them.
They actually have a local Fox channel here in Bulgaria and they are only a few days behind with the new X-Files episode. Even if I understood more than basic Bulgarian I really don't want to hear Mulder and Scully dubbed in Bulgarian (thankfully they subtitle in cinemas here, and on some TV channels).

I've always dug the levity of the "monster of the week" episodes. It breaks up the often all too serious tone of the mythology stuff.

This episode was a return to form, and definitely felt like the X-Files of yesteryear. Lizard man is not Australian by the way, Rhys Darby from Kiwi land. Very funny dude.

I always enjoyed the X-Files. But it's full of low level feminist propaganda. Look at the reversal of gender roles... How Mulder is an emotional believer while Scully is an objective skeptic. I guess it's not a big deal but I never bought into it.

I wouldn't really call that a reversal of gender roles. Males are usually the ones with imagination and grand ideas - and the ones who stubbornly and sometimes emotionally follow their beliefs, grounded or supernatural.
Women tend to be anchored in the physical (religion excepted) and what relates directly to their own, narrow existences. And through Scully's medical and scientific background it takes the form of usually more level headed skepticism than the emotional narrow-mindedness of the average woman.

Back on the topic of the new episodes, the third one was awesome. Funny, and lots of excellent light-hearted banter with indirect references to the old seasons. I imagine it's probably going to be the only monster-of-the-week episodes in this short six episodes batch but it was definitely worth including one of those.

Really enjoyed episode 5. Written and directed by Chris Carter, which probably explains why.

Hoping for an equally strong finale.
