The destruction of Australian Rules Football as a hub of masculinity has been happening for a while as this article on ROK pointed out: how social justic warriors have ruined australian football
But now the SJW's at the AFL have gone even further, forcing an all male club that has run a post Brownlow (MVP award) night function attended by the AFL CEO for over 50 years, to allow female members if it wants to keep the tradition alive. AFL boss Gillon McLachlan forces change on all-male Carbine Club
All because the AFL CEO is a white knight "Male Champion for Change".
Not surprising that it's written by the worst football journalist in this country, who writes for one of the most left leaning papers in the country.
And they wonder why there paper is going under with a phenomenal readership decline compared to its peers.

AFL boss Gillon McLachlan looks to have forced significant cultural change upon one of Victoria's last all-male bastions the Carbine Club.
McLachlan threatened to end a 52-year Grand Final week tradition when he initially refused to attend the Post Brownlow Medal Carbine Club function at Crown, saying the club was at cross-purposes with his role as a Male Champion of Change.

"I put very plainly to them that while their membership is up to them our involvement going forward is contingent upon them opening themselves up," said McLachlan. "What we should be doing at events like this is supporting the huge level of involvement women have across our game.
"To be fair to them they seem to have an appetite for change. The Carbine Club has been a very important part of the Grand Final week calendar for many decades but there were two aspects for me that made it difficult. One is the AFL and where we are heading and also as a male champion of change."
McLachlan met last week with Carbine Club president Graeme Johnson and committeemen Graham Halbish, the former Australian cricket boss, and influential sporting agent James Henderson where he told them the AFL would not support the event beyond this year unless women were allowed to join the club.

McLachlan is understood to have contacted Human Rights Commissioner Kate Jenkins on Monday to communicate his decision to attend and address the Carbine Club event. The Champions of Change make commitments regarding not attending functions which are not inclusive of women.
