You may be right DVY, as I said I don't know him personally. What I find odd is that his father Paul lives St Kitts in the West Indies and is required to pay back $62 million that he defrauded from people. He has only paid back $3.7M so the question remains, where is the rest of that money. Also, it would seem that if Dan is the wealthiest poker player in the world (more than Sam Farha, Phil Ivey, etc), you would think he would win more tournaments. He said he made $50M during 2014, well more than anyone else. He claims to have done this in private poker games. For me there are two possibilities: 1) his dad needs to launder almost $60M that he is unable to spend himself and is using "private poker games" to do it or 2) Dan is the best poker player in history (by winnings at least) without being ranked.
He's never won the world series of poker.

As a professional poker player he placed 180th in 2009 to win $36k.

You could be right and he regularly plays private poker games with the elite wealthiest people (without taking pictures with them) and avoids playing in tournaments (or placing badly on purpose). But you have to admit that if his dad was sitting on $60M that he couldn't use himself a poker playing son would be a great way to move the money.
