New campaign in Israel "empowers" women to practice sport

Yes, I know. We never get tired of that.

The video is a project of Maayan Rimmer. She is 26 and a basketball player in Israel (not a good one, judging by her stats).
She made this project as part of her Visual Communications degree.

The hashtag in free translate is called #Keep_practicing

It is intended to encourage young female athletes to continue with sports.
Some of the writings are:
"Muscles are not feminine"
"You will look like a man"
"It builds shoulders"
"Do you play ball with a skirt" (Girl #4 is orthodocs)
"That's no way to find a husband"
"It is a man's game"
"They are all dykes"

The end slogan is "You keep talking, I'll keep practicing"

Girl #2 (Daniel Kramer) and maybe #1 (Aline Elkin) - WB

Some thoughts:
1. The creator claims that the campaign is for both man and women. [Image: confused.gif]
2. She says in an interview that up untill a year ago she had a different opinion.
So, it is a case of a regular women meeting a feminist, becoming one and maybe throwing her life away.
3. From the same article:
Quote:Quote:

"Why can't a women not live up to her potential? It is all about society"
So, it is society's fault that women can't live up to their potential?
Wait. Men control society, so it is probably their fault.
4. This is Maayan
[Image: 65232.jpg]

WNB.

Also you understand why she is not a good player. She wants muscular women to get the same attention and be encouraged, but would not make the effort to muscle up herself as she plays ball.
5. "It will hurt your Uterus" is out there.
Maayan claims that it is nonsense.
Here is a newsflash: It might. Not for sure, but it is a possibility.
I'm quoting the enemy here:
Quote:Quote:

This information wasn’t readily available, though, and in fact, I had to dig around on sites like PubMed for this information. Only one popular medical site listed the “heavy lifting” risk factor with the qualifier “may contribute to uterine prolapse if pelvic muscles are already weakened.”
Basically a feminist, who lifts weights, did some research and found out there there need to be guidelines for women who want to lift.
So - it might hurt the uterus. But we are not sure.

I wonder how this campaign would go:

Quote:Quote:

#Keep_making_babies

It is intended to encourage young married females to continue with having children.
Some of the writings are:
"Family life is not feminist"
"You will look like a Duggar"
"It causes postpartum depression"
"Do you cook meals with an apron"
"That's no way to find a career"
"It is the Man's game"
"They are all internalizing patriarchy"

The end slogan is "You keep talking, I'll keep getting knocked up by my husband"

"Why can't a woman not live up to her potential? It is all about society"

I'd rather see this campaign encouraging women to be physically active and fit than the American campaign encouraging women to be stagnant and fat.

I wanna see a campaign where they encourage women to be mothers

they say
"you'll never be a 10k per day CEO"
"You've internalized your oppression"
"Kids don't look good on the resumé"
"Getting pregnant will ruin your body"
"You can still have get test tube babies when you're 40"

They can complain all they want, but I'll just keep raising my family

But we won't see a campaign like this in my lifetime

Well, one thing about Israel is that at least they have some sort of gender equality. (Jewish)Women there are conscripted just as their men are. Two years for women, three years for men, but it's close enough. Though they do seem to spend a lot of their time posing for photographs:

Not sure how that is going to help them defeat Hamas and Hezbollah. Maybe by distraction.

I really don't get the fascination with Jewish women. They are probably the most coddled and ego pumped female group on the planet. Even higher than white female feminists in the U.S. a lot of WF feminists are jewish to begin with. The whole JAP phenomenon is a nightmare in urban centers. The Israeli set look mostly look like slightly skinnier arabs to me.

I don't think there's anything wrong with encouraging women to play sports. I would as well. There's nothing sexier to me than a woman who I can work out, run, and do other physical activities with. Now I don't want some bodylifting chick but I absolutely love a woman who is active. In fact I'll take an active chick with a hot body and an average face over a lazy chick with a an okay body and a hot face any day.

You guys are crazy, glad you're not being part of my competition. [Image: lol.gif]

In my opinion a lot of these women only label themselves "feminists" until they meet a real man who sets the tone for the rest of their life.

Well a lot of Jewish (American) women are very slutty, I’ve banged a few of them by meeting them first at their apartments (I always screened by phone first). Not many women want a first meeting at their place normally.

Jewish-Americans and Israelis are VERY different. Most Jewish Americans are of Ashkenazi descent (more European cultured), whereas Israeli has a lot more diversity – Ashkenazi, Sephardic (More middle eastern/north African culture), Mizrahi, Ethiopian, Indian Jews etc.

Also, in my opinion Israeli food shits all over Jewish-American food (except bagels and pastrami).

Israeli women are supposed to be ball breakers too though…

You are way off.
There is "token" gender equality.
They are not conscripted as men are, they serve less time and not in combat positions. The posing thing is part of the "selfie" thing.
Most of the girls just do clerical work. A recent study found that they make less than 5% of IDF's definition of "Combat soldiers".

To defeat Hamas and Hezbollah - it is not about girls. It is about fighting a rival that wants you dead and destroyed. There can be no peace with such an enemy.
That's what the air force, navy, land forces and intelligence branches are for.

BTW
Those two 19 years old are serving in the northern command HQ signal corps battalion (according to their unit sign). Not sure about the left one but WB the right one.

Based on the pick you posted of Maayan, I WB furiously.

*edit*

And frankly, I wish more women played sports. At least maybe that would cut down on the obesity rate. I'll take a fit women any day over a woman who stays thin simply by eating less. The asses and legs of women who run and play sports such as soccer or volleyball are simply incomparable to thin women who don't excercise much.

There is a difference between a "fit" chick and a "competitive" chick.

This video is teaching people its okay to be more "butch" through competitiveness. Even if a women has a competitive edge and won an Olympic metal, she should speak of the achievement with a sense of modesty.

Also, WB first two.

Meanwhile as they are encouraging women to be more butch and more likely to be infertile as a result. The Haredi is overtaking Israel.
