Depends on the ones. My experience there seems to be a parity between the ones that just want kids and the ones that are chasing a diamond along with the kid.

That said the ones who wanna get married can make some great wives. Almost all of my classmates who are still married happily found one of these early and snapped them up within a few weeks of that girl setting foot on campus.

I did grad school in the US and I did my undergrad in UK so I never went anywhere near the frat life and I never interacted with anybody who was involved with it.

Question - How did it get to the stage where you have fraternities/sororities based on race? Is it considered acceptable to give people shit because of their ethnicity?

It's because of when the fraternities and sororities were founded. Many of them (especially the larger, national ones), were founded in the 1800's, when slavery still existed for many decades. I'm using that as a societal context, but race isn't the one factor that led to the creation of these fellowships. There are also other factors that come into play (family name, economic standing, etc.).
