Tried doing a search on this and didn't see a thread...

If I wanted to set up a camera in my bedroom to make sure that I had video & audio evidence that all sexual encounters had full enthusiastic affirmative consent - with my partners knowledge they were being filmed, of course...

What sort of camera would you suggest setting up to record things in the bedroom?

I've tried looking around a bit and it's hard to find one that has...

- high quality video
- simultaneous audio recording (important to hear the "yes, yes, YESSSS!!" being screamed)
- motion recording or the ability to be turned on covertly or from a distance... so as not to break the mood

Most cameras seem to only have 2 of those qualities. Finding ones that do audio at the same time seem especially hard, but I figure at least one guy on the forum has something that works.

In this age of false accusations, better safe then sorry.

Any camera at best buy will record video and sound. Most will do it in low light situations.

You need a system/integrated solution more so than a specific make and model of camera.

Tape her at the door, on the couch, in the bathroom, in the bed. Then keep the tape running until the encounter is over. Then you want to save and store the footage safely for I'm guessing the statute of limitations.

You also want it to run all the time so you never forget. At the same time, you need a legit way to delete footage of uneventful nights.

I'd be looking for a security system solution that captures sound, low light, and decent resolution. I'd also want it to be unobtrusive and not obvious.

Sure there are some tech guys in the forum who could spec that out.

If you are are filming with partner consent why would the cameras need to be hidden?
I just use my laptop webcam, that way the girl and I can both look over and see our image on the screen while we bone; adds to the fun.

Is the plan here to record these for your personal use without the consent of your partner? Not sure why you'd want to have it hidden. There are some gadgets like wall clocks that have those cameras in them. You'd have to google it though. I once saw one online.

If they know they're being filmed...make it fun, don't hide it. Chics love being on camera, especially if it's her doing things to a guy she's attracted to. It's their way of confirming they have power over us with their sexuality. Hell you could just go POV with the smart phone.

What exactly is the law on this? If your not uploading the video online etc is it illegal to record what happens in your private bedroom?

Second what Heavy said, but you don't need her consent. And even if I did, the times we live in dictate that it's do or die time. Women cannot be trusted to tell the truth post 2015 (actually more like 2000). Cameras like the one linked are hot sellers for good reason: Men are tired of their damned lies.

The only real challenge to overcome isn't technical. It's mindset. That is, getting into the habit of storing, deleting, and/or throwing bad copies out, or keeping moisture away if you're going the tape route. Years ago I worked a security gig. The residents hated that there was a cam right at the entrance to the subdivision. Too Orwellian, they said. They didn't like being watched.

Only they raised hell when high school kids would roll houses on graduation night, demanding we hunt them down (on minimum wage, no less). Another guy threatened to kill me if I didn't stop his wife's secret lover from entering the subdivision. I kid you not, the guy wanted me to throw myself in front of the car or shoot him. Called him the biggest idiot in the place and hung up.

I've been looking into this also. I'll be going back to school to get the classes necessary to sit for my CPA exam, and you bet I'll be gaming my ass off at the university. Unfortunately politicians are whipping up a moral panic about campus rape, and things will probably only get worse as the presidential election gets closer.

Security cameras save lives. Not only can they save you from false rape accusations, they can also save you from false DV charges, and help keep an eye on your place. The best one I found so far is the Foscam wireless camera. It hooks to your computer over wifi and costs $60 if you want the low end version, or $80 if you want the high end version. That's a steal compared to having to pay a lawyer $300 an hour to defend you from false accusations.
Here's a review of the Foscam FI9821P that includes video taken from it, and night vision testing.

You can use the software that comes with it. But if you want 3rd party software you can always use Blue Iris. With a foscam + blue iris you can do anything that a video system set up by a security company can do. Eg: Motion activated recording, automatic cloud uploads, live view from cellphone/tablet, automatic alerts, etc.

As far as legalities you can go to http://www.avvo.com to ask a licensed attorney who practices law in your state any questions you want for free. Apparently in my state the only place security camera's aren't legal are places where someone has: "a reasonable expectation of privacy". The lawyer said what that means in practical terms is that I can film anywhere in my home except for my bathroom, and I don't have to notify anyone who comes inside that they're being filmed.

For students on a budget apparently there are some apps out there that turn your old smartphones into wireless security cameras. I don't know how good they work. But if you don't have any extra money to spend it's worth looking into, and something is certainly better then nothing at all.

Don't you think if you go too high quality it will backfire on you should you have to use it as evidence? They will construe you as a perv you likes to record himself having sex with random one-night stands. And if you have ever shown ANYBODY any of the recordings they will find out about that and use that against you.

On the other hand, if its just enough to do the trick to prove consent I think it's the way to go. And never show anyone any of the recordings. Ever.

The camera you linked doesn't record audio. It says it does in product description, but reviews and people who've used it say no.

Who cares if the feminazi's think you're a perv? There's nothing they can do about it. Setting up a home security system and filming anyone who comes into your home is legal [at least in my state]; even if you end up having sex with them. Falsely accusing someone of rape is not. The more high quality the video and audio are the easier it will be to show that the encounter was consensual. If you keep the footage around as a personal memento [which is also legal] then that's just an extra bonus. If the feminazi's don't like that new reality then they should work to change laws and cultural norms back to where they were before false rape allegations became such a problem that men started to videotape their encounters to prove they were consensual.

Yeah I see where your coming from. I'm more worried about the video quality not being good enough to prove consent. I guess at the end of the day you have to weigh the pro's and con's and take your chances either way.

I would probably use the Mobius actioncam. It's small, cheap, discreet and versatile. Good 1080p/30 video quality. You can hide it pretty much anywhere and it's highly unlikely that the "guests" will notice it or know what it is. And even if by some remote chance they do know, they won't know whether it's ON or OFF because you can disable the LEDs.

I would connect it to external power source via USB and make it automatically start recording when I switch the power source ON. (You can adjust this and many other settings in GUI software on PC or smartphone.) The power source could be linked to some kind of remote system of course. Perhaps just a simple switch in a convenient place. The possibilities are countless. There is also a motion detection feature. I don't know how well that works and whether that would be feasible in this scenario.

The Mobius definitely has some things going for it. Ease of use, concealability, and easy mobility. My concern would be about how well it performs under low light conditions. I usually try to seal the deal after dark, and I've found that a dimly lit room gives me the best results. If it can take decent quality video under low light conditions then it could be a very useful camera though.

I guess it depends on how/where you place the cameras. They're pretty small and I already have a few spots in my place where I know I can place them discreetly. I really only need two cameras. The worse case scenario would be if a camera got spotted. In which case I'd tell the chick that I have a video surveillance system because I suspect my house cleaner/landscaper/whatever may have stolen a few things. But I only turn it on when I leave my house. I looked into hidden cameras. The problem with all of the hidden cams in my price range is that they don't have night vision. Which is a problem for me since I get my best results when trying to close after dark in a dimly lit room.
