Dont expect much from the place. Its an Australian outback themed bar which plays cheesy pop classics. But its full of drunk Aussies, Kiwis, South Africans and Canadians all looking for a good time. Its a backpacker hangout really. The Canadian bar, think it was called The Maple Leaf, was a great bar and probably one of the best there IMO. Good for a few beers.

There is so much to do in London though that you could spend 5 years there and only scratch the surface. Without a doubt, some of the best night life in the world.

Is walkabout/maple leaf good places for easy lays?or it is more centered on social circle, chillout place?
It would be great if you put a brief description of the game there.
Tks for the info Hooligan

I want to know if this is the kind of place that I should go to get started and pick my first London flag when I'm there rolling dolo.

Maple is a little more chilled. The Walkabout is a meat market consisting of backpackers. So most of the people there are on working holidays, and chicks on working holidays are there to to have fun.

So yes, I would expect with some effort, a drunk backpacker is going to be up for a dicking.

Chances of picking up English there is slim. If its English you want, best advice is to look outside the main city. London may be in England, but it might as well be on Mars.

The chicks are going to be mostly western in outlook. So the approach you would use in the US would be much the same as you would use with Aussies, New Zealanders, South Africans and Canadians. Its always going to be hit and miss, but you have some major advantages here

1. They are all hammered or going to be quite soon
2. They are on a working holiday. Chicks on holiday think they have the whore pass
3. Aussies have no problems with SNL's. New Zealand is a slut factory, although they be dragons mostly!

Hahaha thanks,
in that case I'm not looking for English pussy exclusively, I'm looking for any pussy lol.I just want to pick the 1st flag asap when I hit town and them I can have peace of mind to work towards quality/more challenging venues.
Anyone has more inputs on places/ways to get easy lays in London?

I've only been to Maple for the burgers, which I recommend.

I hate Walkabout. Full of flip-flop wearing slags drinking snakebites. The benefit is that picking up there can feel like shooting fish in a barrel. Low risk / low reward. But if you want to hit the ground running Mr GM it's a good place to start.

If you're into that kind of vibe the Sport's Cafe on Haymarket is also a good bet, though more Americans than antipodeans. Tuesday night is American night and therefore the best.

A few years ago friend of mine who lives in London and is quite well off told me that he regularly left his plushy flat in West London and checked in at a hostel like the Generator near Russell Square to meet girls. He'd hang out at the bar there or in the communal rooms and chat up girls who were staying there.

He got a bang out of it almost every time.

If you're determined to get your English flag go to Public or Maggie's in West London. High end spots, but lots of English hotties.

Start off at the the White Horse (AKA The Sloaney Pony) in Parsons Green. It has a more laid-back vibe - it's a big pub with lots of outdoor seating in summer. Well-off English girls with fluffy hair and fake tan will be out in force on most nights of the week. Keep in mind that it closes early.

Nobody has info on the Seven sisters area?

Hey,

Thought I'd better stop lurking as I'm finally able to give something back to this forum!

Seven Sisters

Pros: cheap, has decent travel links – underground, night buses and easy to get to Stansted Airport – and so it's easy and quick to get to west end (25min), Camden (15min), and Shoreditch (15min). If you want to go out in in West London (South Ken/Fulham etc) then it's not so convenient. Shops around the area are pretty basic: fast food chicken outlets, few Turkish supermarkets and Latin (Colombian and Brazilian) shops but it does have a few decent West Indian take aways and Turkish restaurants.

Cons: ugly area, depressing architecture and buildings. No real night life or quality bars in the area. Some people are put off by it's seedy reputation – parts of Seven Sisters road have (or had) a problem with prostitutes etc.

In summary, during the day time, it's a lively multicultural area and you might spot a few nice EE women around but it's not really a place for relaxing and picking up girls during the day. At night it's dead and there's nothing there to do. But its saving grace is its travel links!

Jump on a train/bus and you could be in Angel in 15min. Angel's a much nicer area with plenty of shops, bars and decent night life – during the day you'll always find a few 'ladies who lunch' in one of the trendy cafes and restaurants and so it's quite good for a bit of day game.

Or jump on a train and go to the west end (Oxford St, Piccadilly Circus etc) and there's plenty of places shop/drink/watch girls go by and just enjoy yourself.

If you want something a bit 'alternative' then Camden or Shoreditch/Brick lane – some see it as alternative- might be a good option. Only thing, don't go Shoreditch/Brick lane during the day as it's more of a late night area (apart from Sundays!).

However, saying all this I would probably take Earl's Court over Seven Sisters as it has the same good travel links but is a nicer area to stay in.

Southall: forget about it!

Caligula's link to the post with the club/bar suggestions should provide you with plenty of ideas and I would agree that his breakdown is pretty accurate. I would also note the problem with logistics that he mentioned ie if you go out in the West End it's really not easy to then just go Shoreditch, unless you're driving.

As many have touched on, London can be very expensive and the weather is usually a let down. The people tend to be less friendly than up North but, in my opinion, the quality and variety in London can – on a good day - be amazing.

Happy hunting!

Re: easy lays – I would give Tiger Tiger a go. It's opposite the sports bar in Haymarket and usually attracts a fair amount of foreign talent. [Image: smile.gif]

Welcome aboard.

How could I forget Tiger Tiger! I'm not into the West End scene at all, but there are always fresh arrivals there. I saw a Danish au par for a while who was really into that place, and so were her cute au pair friends. There's a Scandinavian night there once in a while which I highly recommend hitting up (http://www.scandinavianparty.com). It's Scandi au pair central.

Angel is a good area. Upper Street near Angel tube station is a good place to go bar hopping. I've never day gamed there but there's a small market with vintage clothes and bric a brac near the station which I imagine would be a good spot for that. Would love to crack the ladies who lunch scene there but haven't figured out how to approach it.

Another place around there I've done well in is Slimelight, which is a goth club on Torrens Street by Angel tube station. I'd go there suited up with a friend looking nothing like all the pale depressed guys at the club. We got a few nasty looks, and some of the girls refused to talk to us for not being dressed up. But there were also girls there who saw it as a big DHV that we were confident/open minded enough to roll into a place like that without having to dress the part. Goth dudes are generally very beta so our game went far there.

A friend of mine goes regularly on weekends and pulls something almost every time he goes.

From when I was there, Chelsea was a very posh area and conclusively nice area. If you have the wonga (cheese) to hack it, then go ahead. Either way, you'll be zooming to Central London to swoop on the endless hordes of lizards, so you can't lose.

It's fairly close to Earls Court tube station as well. You can't go wrong in that area, providing your pockets can sustain the hits..

Tiger-Tiger is a great spot for newbies, you will meet alot of fresh to London girls there.
Walkabout sucks period. A man fest consisting mostly Aussie's/Kiwi dudes drinking lots of beer. They all wear t-shirts/flip flops and scruffy jeans as mentioned before.

Convert Garden is a no-brainer,impossible not going there.
Following G's imput,Earls court smells like good logistics.I'll look for budget accomodation in the area, but I don't know if I can take the hit,I'm on the
opposite of G's $ituation right now (Unfortunately)...I'm looking for the best cost/benefit ratio.I'll dig deep to stay out of Southhall even on the first days.Too far from the hotspots.

I'll definitely hit London after Sweden this year.Gotta buy my plane ticket, set my shit asap, and start delivering some datasheets here.

There really are tonnes of options, I was living pretty close to the Sloaney Pony which was mentioned a page or so ago. From here you can easily get to Chelsea, Sloane Square, South Ken, then a little further out close to the Westend in Mayfair where there are lots of exclusive clubs, all of these areas are quite expensive so be prepared to spend some cash.

Alternatively head North to Earls court or Notting Hill, just this little lot could keep you occupied for a few months and you've barely scratched the surface.

There is another huge club in the westend similar to tiger tiger called Onanon, pretty cheesy and full of tourists.

Moma,
that was a brillant post on the pros and cons of London. If one were to visit or spend a month or so in London, which area of the city would you recommend in terms of both affordability and not being far from the action while still be safe? I wouldn't want to end up in the ghetto areas if you know what I mean.

Cheers man.

Okay, I got confirmation from my spar (he is born and bred and lives there as we speak). He said that if you want to be around blacks (Africans and Caribbeans all westernised of course), Arabs and whites i.e the Aussies then a place like Shepherd Bush would be a good bet costwise. You can still get to Central London in a decent time frame and you can hit some of the clubs in the West i.e. I can't remember but there was a nice club in Ealing Broadway that I went to with the wing but I can't recall.

If you want mainly whites (posh) then Ealing would be your best bet.

Places like Chelsea and Earl's Court are gonna run your pockets although they are very nice and you'll see a lot of elegant and rich people there.

London can eat your money like nowhere else for a very low return.

Hope that was of help.

Although, I'm not looking for a classy place for the 1st bang.I want the easiest m*f*ing place to get some ass [Image: eatpuss.gif] .I just need to get it out of my system and them move on to quality venues/better girls. It works for me.

Yea, I banged an au-pair from the Scandinavian countries. They usually do it to get to know Europe (or should I say England in particular). Usually once their stint is up, they return back to their superior standard of living.

The United Kingdom really sucks?

Quote: (06-06-2011 12:31 PM)Moma Wrote:

I grew up in the UK, South London to be exact. I wouldn't go to any other part of UK personally as London was the most multicultural. Whenever I went to other parts of UK, I realised what it is like if one grows up as a minority. Never felt like a minority in London.

Now personally, I've had the fortune to have travelled widely. I have fam dispersed all over the U.S, some family friends situated in Canada (which I leveraged to position myself here) and I have fam in the Caribbean and Afrique.

Contrasting ALL of these environments, I find London to be severely inferior. Standard of living does not MATCH up to Canada or the U.S. I have friends and fam that were born and bred in the U.K, they leveraged me as the first opportunity to fly into North America and all were wow'ed by the standard of living I have.

Bear in mind, I am not balling. I don't have a whip, I am renting but just the basic necessities that I have totally overwhelm theirs in the UK (they all drive and are mortgaging a tiny house).

CONS TO THE UK
I can only give you my account of London as I did not grow up outside of London, never lived outside of London and to be honest, I had no interest in living outside of London.
As my mum aptly stated, the thing about the UK is that the only place that is really jumping in DIFFERENT avenues is London. There are no other major cities (unless things have changed) that even compare.

As a quick comparison, you have multiple cities in the U.S where you can get things 'popping' i.e. Miami, NYC, LA. Chicago, Houston etc)
I used to go to Liverpool often for summers to visit fam. Every time people heard I was from London, they would swarm me like I were John from the Beatles.

For Canada, you have Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver that can hold their own.

Now...
For you guys (and gal) that grew up in warm sunny countries, you will find the British weather oppressive and depressing. As rudebwoy stated in the other thread, winter months can result in days without seeing sunshine. People used to sunny weather especially those with darker complexions i.e Latin people, Afro people will suffer from SADS (Seasonal Affect Disorder Syndrome).
They become moany, complain and gripe with huge chips on their shoulder. Sense of humour lies in seeing someone else suffer and get hurt.
Yes, they are obsessed with sex. Most of the jokes involve wanking, spunking, wanking, shagging, arse etc. For those of you from countries where sex is no sweat but part of the culture you will find that people will target you only to fcuk you and then after that, they move on.
My Danish friend found that out quickly when she dated seven or more guys. She fcuked them all (casually) and after that found out the guys wanted no more to do with her. The relationships with women (in London) didn't seem to expand much further than just wanting to fcuk (very small minded).

All people wanted to do was get drunk (lean), or smoke 'sum ting' and fcuk a gyal.
That was a LunnPoly for the guys.
So many people would smoke and spit, spit. So much spitting in London. Nasty.
Dirty streets. No enforced anti-litter campaign. The amount of time I stepped in dog shyt was unbelievable.

EXPENSIVE

You pay for everything. Transport is expensive, petrol is expensive, car etc. With this in mind, you will find that people will be constantly aware of how much it costs. Let's say you want someone to drop you off somewhere. They might drop you off at a bus stop because they are very cognizant of petrol prices.

Take some friends out for a dinner. 60 bucks (quid if you are in the UK) will NOT get you the same quality that you would get if you were to pay for that in a restauraunt in Toronto or some city in the U.S.
For Pete's sake, last time I was there, there was a restauraunt charging 15 pounds for a plate of roaches and other associated vermin!!

If you rent, you have to pay housing tax, you have to pay for a tv license, you pay for every unit of electricity and gas that you use.
This means what one might be used to in North America, coming home and running all sorts of electrical appliances will be disproved of in the UK because these will all eat your bill.

Many days I came home forgetting how much I had put on the gas meter, to light the stove to warm up some baked beans and find out the stove wouldn't light.
Why? Because I'd run out of gas and I had to go to the petrol station to top up my card.
There was no free outgoing phone calls (all incoming are free whether you have a mobile or a house phone). So pillow talk will run ya pockets (if you initiate the call).

I heard of a lot of robberies when I grew up, mainly behind the Stanley knife but they have now graduating to guns.

Good things about U.K.

You meet a large variety of intelligent people there. The general level of intelligence is higher there compared to... With scarcity in materials, you have to be really sharp in order to get a job. Just going for a temp job, they want to know what you got in your GCSE's (a UK equivalent of the North American GED except it is completed by 15 or 16 years old at latest).

If you don't have those qualifications, forget it, hit the construction site or something.

Even game, I was FORCED to step it up to get some pussy. I was on redpoint and wasn't going to get NO pussy being beta so I came to a point and said fcuk it. I saw all sorts of guys banging lizards around and I said..fcuk dat, I have nothing else to look forward to and I copied what I saw which was road game (a big part of South London).

I got less flakes in the U.K. If a woman didn't want you, she might just say so or be kinder and say she doesn't have a phone right now.
I remember one woman that was just cussing out my best wingman after we just finished at the Ministry of Sound.
Here in Toronto, she would have smiled at him and given him her real number (and never picked up when he calls).
I think due to the fact that there it is expensive in London, if a woman links you, she will most likely test out the sex. If she doesn't like you and doesn't give you the pum, she will NOT go out with you again. It's not worth wasting her time and yours.
Torontonians will encourage beta-ism and happily 'date' a guy for months with no intimacy.
In London, I'd never gone to a woman's place or have her come to mine in private and not been able to hide the sausage. And I'm not saying because my game was super tight, that's just how the UK mentality is.

They are less anal than North America are about things such as minor criminal offences. I often knew of assaults between grown adults with no charges. My wingman went through a series of weeks where he was assaulted by the bouncer one week, a woman the next week and no charges were brought up.

There, the Feds generally used their common sense. They know that peoplewill have a disagreement at times and will let certain things slide to a certain level.
Here in North America, you breathe on someone the wrong way, they report it, you are charged and you have a record and then you are fcuked.

You can drink alcohol on the streets. They will only card you if you blatantly look under 18 (in London). Smaller cities you can get a drink if you are 14 if you so wish.
Here in Canada, they don't card me but they give me this silly brown bag to keep my alcohol in???!! When I first moved here, I was holding my rum and drinking it in my hand (fcuk a brown bag!!) the way I always do in London and I was getting funny looks. Then I remembered from the movies, that peeps always used to keep that bullshit covered up.

As previously said, you can travel to other European cities for the price of piss (which is nothing) compared to Canada which is the North American rape central of travelling.
I went return to Paris via ferry and coach for 20 quid. I did Amsterdam return (coach) on 60 quid.
My friend flies from Denmark to London return for about 8 quid or sometimes 4 quid.
One of my friends will do a return to Bulgaria for about 40 quid if he is tired of the London B.S.
So, with the right mindset, you can really experience and enjoy Europe by living in London.

The sterling is still powerful on a global scene so you can actually send that money back home and get your people to open up a stall, or build a house because as long as you keep that money in the UK, you will NEVER get the same return you would on a global scene.

I know one cat who did the smart thing and built a house in Jamrock using the pounds so he can retire without all that landtax shyt etc that Lizzie likes to do to fund her handwaving campaign.

Also, if you stay in the UK for a decade, you get citizenship. I know two guys that hung around for that frame and finally got their maroon books.
I know you can live in the US for a million centuries and they will tell you to fcuk off unless you get the papers the right way.
Canada is fairly similar although Canada is more lenient on how many peeps they let in (after all, there are taxis to be driven and who better than a qualified heart surgeon?).

So those are the pros and cons from an insider (now outside).

I disagreed with your first post hating on the UK. But this post is pretty balanced and I would agree with most things you say. I've just come back from Colombia and man that makes me more appreciative of living here in the UK.

Yes the weather is shit although in the south of the country the weather is generally better. But hey, I've spent my whole life here...24 years so I'm used to it. London has some awesome night spots and you can find any night scene you want in London, the sky is the limit. Nonetheless, it's ridiculously expensive agreed, however the main thing I like about London is all the foreign women, like Lumiere said you can live in London and get 50 different flags.

People are reserved, but they are generally pretty honest and I would say the police are very good and fair. The general norm on the weekend is to go out and get trashed..and when I say trashed I mean it. I'll be honest the selection of women is not that great, while there are cute ones, they are in shorter supply than many countries so their market value goes up. For me the best thing about the UK is the sense of humour..I lived abroad in Spain for a year and nothing else compares.
