Actually sometimes articles come up in the media which prove that married couples pay more taxes than if they would be just living together and having children.

The joke was that if you're married to someone, money and products/assets from them aren't 'income' or 'sales', they're just internal movements of assets within the marriage. Unfortunately though, you'd lose the ability to resolve disputes in the courts.
