What I find most striking about this whole Gay Marriage debacle is how quickly it's sweeping the world. Almost overnight, our society has chosen to enact something that would have been a bad punchline 20 years ago.
I'm interested in gauging when the push for this settled into the minds of the electorate; it's more than just a generational thing, with Millenials and Gen X getting brainwashed in public schools - even Boomers who once would have scoffed at it, have now become staunch defenders of it.
So: when do you first recall supporting Gay Marriage, or at least realizing that you were supposed to support it?
EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm deeply opposed to Gay Marriage, but that's not the question; rather, when did it become something in the mainstream consciousness? How did three different generations manage to get swayed simultaneously?

2004 right before the election, to get laid by liberal chicks you had to support it.
I must change the question a little bit to answer, Do I support gay marriage? NO.
Am I opposed to gay marriage? NO.
Do I care about gay people as long as they leave me alone, and let me do my thing? NO.
I look at it like I look at Heroin, Do I support heroin use? NO.

I am kind of ambivalent about gay men and women, my issue really lies with this whole transgender raise my son as a girl bullshit. I do not think that forcing non traditional gender roles on children that are not gay is right. There is a straight couple in my building and they are doing that "gender neutral" bullshit with their son and he is acting out at school and getting picked on by other kids. He is not my kid so I mind my business, but I cannot help but think what are they trying to prove? I ran into them in the lobby around Christmas last year and I asked him "are you being good, what do you want Santa to bring you for Christmas?" while my girlfriend chatted up his mom. He said "an Army truck and an Army tank!" his mom gave him a shitty look and pulled him away, my girlfriend told me later that his mom was pissed at him. That shit is going to fuck that kid up.
