Fat people thread

Reddit's fatpeoplehate has died, but it left a lasting legacy on one fatty. She told her story on XO Jane, in which she admits that eating is her addiction and that she had made barely any progress on her goal of losing 70 lbs.

http://www.xojane.com/issues/my-weight-l...peoplehate

Quote:Quote:

On November 25, 2014, I turned 29 years old. This was a momentous birthday for me, as I saw it as an opportunity to make change and better myself so I could start my 30s strong. The first resolution I made was to lose 70 pounds.

Basically, this bitch sees that she's nearing her expiration date and wants a little male attention before no one cares any more.

Quote:Quote:

I had spent much of my 20s binge-eating my stress away. Some people reach for a glass of wine at the end of a hard day; my substance of choice took the form of fat and carbs. The worst part of this habit was not the weight gain – rather, it was the intense feeling of shame and self-hatred that occured after the fact.

Food (and prescription pills) are the only acceptable addictions in the West. And yes, XO Jane spelled occurred wrong.

Quote:Quote:

You would think that this would be enough to keep me from beginning a binge in the first place, but that is unfortunately not how my brain operates. Self-hatred breeds stress, which begs easy relief, which leads to binging, which leads to…. more self-hatred. It’s a cycle.

I vowed to make 29 the year I would break that cycle.

After lots of research on diets, I found the solution on one of Reddit’s many communities: r/keto. In a nutshell, the keto diet involves cutting out carbs and upping the fat and protein. I began this diet right after Thanksgiving and found immediate signs of success.

This sounds like the fatty starts eating right, and now she's well on her way to being thin. But her success, come to find out, is a lot different than the traditional notions of success.

Quote:Quote:

Success.

That’s a funny word for someone who has been stuck in cycles of self-hatred for a long time (the majority of my life). Success means trying hard. Success means sustained effort. It means breaking the cycle and becoming someone new, with unpredictable results. Success is scary for someone like me, as the aforementioned cycle of self-hatred was easy, predictable, and safe.

She defines success as the effort necessary to achieve a goal, not the actual achievement. Unpredictable results does not sound like she's shedding the pounds. It sounds losing weight one week, and gaining it back the next. And for a person whose goal is weight loss, it sounds like failure.

Quote:Quote:

That’s why my resolution came to a screeching halt when someone stole progress pictures I had posted to r/keto and posted them to r/fatpeoplehate instead.

r/fatpeoplehate, just banned from the Reddit community last Wednesday on grounds of harassment, was devoted to shaming both celebrity and civilian fatties, like myself. Photos of “hambeasts” pilfered from Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, and even brazenly taken in public were posted for the “shitlord” masses to ridicule.
My progress pictures were posted by a now-deleted user called “Fattiesaresubhuman.” This user posted my pictures stating that it didn’t look like I had made any progress at all – and maybe I had even gained five pounds (I hadn’t; I’d lost 17 pounds).

The comments on the post ranged from merely agreeing with the original poster to shaming my posture (I have scoliosis) and even bringing up an ingrown hair on my leg, calling it a “festering sore.” This “sore” was a small, slightly darker spot on my leg, barely noticeable to someone who isn’t out to find every single miniscule flaw.

With leg sores and scoliosis (plus 150 or so extra pounds), she sounds like a real keeper. And she barely made any progress on her goal of 70, which to a beast of her likely size would not have made any difference to begin with.

Basically, her progress was like this, which is probably not her due to the lack of festering leg sores:

Quote:Quote:

I found out about all this because FattiesAreSubhuman kindly messaged me a link to the post. This user later messaged me saying, “You will always be fat. Keep enjoying your cheat days.” The cheat days he or she referred to related to some of my previous r/keto posts, meaning the user had searched through my posting history. That’s a lot of effort to make sure I knew how much my fat body was hated by others.

[Image: Alec-Baldwin-Laughing-and-Covering-His-Eyes.gif]

Now comes her self-serving excuse, which shows that she doesn't really care about losing weight.

Quote:Quote:

That’s what was so infuriating about r/fatpeoplehate: the fact that even my PROGRESS – my desire to change my body from fat to not-fat – was not good enough. The users in the FPH community prided themselves on total fat hatred; even if you were making a change, you were still not a human yet. They also felt that they were somehow helping people by shaming them.

Unfortunately, shame is not a universal motivator. In the case of someone whose head is already swimming with self-disgust, shame merely validates a low sense of worth.

And so, I began to prove FattiesAreSubhuman right. I resumed my binges. I regained ten pounds, because why even TRY to lose weight when it’s apparent to everyone else that I just plain suck. 29 began to turn into just another year, like all the others.

Now it’s been a couple months since all this went down and r/fatpeoplehate was just banned last week. Do I feel suddenly liberated? No, because I know that, just because an internet community is gone, it doesn’t mean that the people behind the shaming have disappeared with it. However, through some introspection, I have come to the realization that the most important weight I have to lose is the emotional baggage I’ve been carrying with me for far, far too long.

Day game today. USA.

In one Wal-Mart:
Ten couples
Four girls alone
Three girls in pairs
Thirteen fatties in pairs or otherwise.

This is a 13:20 split, or 39% fatties.

Better than I expected, probably because despite all logic I just can't seem to notice the big ones.

I am mad at fatties because they had ONE JOB and they still blew it.

If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.

Well - she was a bad target for fat shaming. She did some crappy advances in her diet. Her results were barely any success if she knew how effective you can lose weight by really changing your diet for life.

This is what I meant before when I said fat people who do not change are disgusting and weak. Her mindset did not really change. Binge on salad if you can't stop shoveling food in your face. Go light on the dressing, cheese, and bacon. A cheat day to me is a day I do not count my calories, not one in which I go back to eating the same food that made me fat in the first place. 70 pounds might be possible, but it's an unrealistic goal. She set herself up for failure before she even started. That she only lost 17 pounds in 90 days of P90x says she never took the diet part seriously. I lost 20 pounds between the second week of February and the second week of March while doing the same exercise routine I had been doing for over a year. The only difference was I replaced a meal day with juice. Any fat person introducing a serious change into their diet is going to drop a lot of weight within a month. It's the newbie gains of weight loss. She emphasized eating differently but not eating less, and P90x is not something meant for an overweight coach potato. These choices reveal that she cannot deny herself short-term pleasure for long-term gains. She wants to keep eating in a way that gives her the same short-term satisfaction and hope that extremely hard exercise relative to her fitness level will allow her to preserve the everyday comforts she feels she cannot live without.

The hambeast did not turn herself into a hambeast in 90 days, so why does she expect to undo it that fast? That kind of obesity takes years to reach. If she's that fat at 29, she will never be "perfect." She has already damaged herself in ways that will last after getting fit. At best, weight loss is salvage for anyone that fat, so notions of perfect outcomes need to go and be replaced by realistic, long-term goals. She still has an instant gratification mindset. She could have done exactly what she did but with a mindset such as, "I will lose 10 pounds by 90 days from now and then set a new goal," and then even with her fragile emotional faculties, she would feel like a winner instead of a loser. Her only 2 acceptable outcomes are revealed by her choices: extreme, quick weight loss, or failure so she can give up. She's just projecting the failure on others so she can try to feel better about wanting to give up because "it's too hard." It's too hard because she made it too hard because she cannot stand the idea that it will take more than a year of work.

A lot of the comments so far have been in regards to the US, well let me tell you all that the UK is quickly catching up.

I live in London, the most multicultural city in the world, and hence the best place to witness the contrast in female physiques between nationalities first hand. It's gotten to the point now where you can identify a British girl by her size, and if it turns out she's not British, then you can guarantee she's an American tourist.

Something Roosh said recently on the Doctor Oz show really resonated with me, that when living in America he was "frustrated by the fact there was an ever decreasing number of thin and attractive women to date". I live in the capital of my country where the "most attractive" women are, and I've also found myself at this point.

London was of course the scene of the famous Protein World "Are you beach body ready" advertising campaign which became headline news when fatties vandalised posters, started twitter movements and even held a protest in Hyde Park! Over a fucking company promoting healthy image. I'm sick of fatties and their victim mentality.

Even more - watch what people get at the grocery store. Even if it's at whole foods, it's always cookies, fruit juice, breads, sodas, ice cream, maybe some lettuce or chicken, and then mayonnaise.

If the Newman character from "Seinfeld" were introduced on TV today, would there be protests? Because back in the 1990s, it never would have occurred to people to complain...and the character was pretty much an excuse to mock the habits and negative personality traits of fat people.

I wonder how much of this has to do with being miserable? The number of people taking medication just so they can function is skyrocketing, and binge-eating is just another drug (speaking of which, isn't alcohol abuse also at an all time high?).

The modern world is absolutely atrocious, something I think most people can attest to; the world wears you down, and you're expected to walk around with a grin on your face all the time (can't admit that communism's making us miserable!), but rather than trying to change the circumstances that make them miserable, people just self-medicate with whatever they have at hand.

I saw Roosh on the Dr. Oz show and he looked like a total ass! We could all do better to have a leader express our views to the world! What a lamo, letting a wimpy ass man like Dr Oz push him around like that. Roosh practically begged him to speak..LOL...A real man would have spoken up regardless of the consequences. Also, making fun of fat women under the guise of trying to help them is just asinine. We dont make fun of fat women because we want to help them, we make fun of them because its funny!

Ho about the Fat Bastard character? If this character was a new one in 2015, there'd be boycotts and protests.

Fat Bastard because of his name, but I think if his name were different, it wouldn't cause as much protest.

Why? Because they're men. Fat glorification supporters are almost all women, and they don't care about fat men. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes for women only.

These are the same land whales that write article after article about how awful and shallow men are and how they won't overlook their morbid obesity, yet the type of guy they desire is always some fit guy. Examples off the top of my head include the very fat woman who wrote that article about how no one messaged her back on dating sites, yet her ideal guy was a pro hockey player. The morbidly obese woman who 'pined after' tall thin guys who wouldn't pay attention to her in high school. "All About That Bass", the video featuring an unattractive fat woman with a tall, thin man. The video itself is a perfect example, where there is a fat guy, but he's their dancing clown.

So a Newman like character might generate some mild protest. But a female Newman character would cause riots.

I saw a post yesterday on a blog I read and had to do a double take.

It was shilling for readers to donate to a kickstarter called "The Unicorn Files."

[Image: photo-original.jpg?v=1434044813&w=1024&h...c8ade4ac13]

My first question is, why is that unicorn so ugly? I thought unicorns are supposed to be the most beautiful of mythic creatures.

Then I saw what the "project" is....a book of photos of "girl geeks." They consider themselves unicorns because they are so "rare."

So here are the samples of the high quality eye candy they want to publish:

Back in my day, "geek girls" were cute little mousey types; sometimes sporting glasses, sometimes not. They were usually thin and petite with timid personalities. They were often "fashion-challenged." Geek girls were not hulking aggressive whales sporting sleeve tattoos and in-your-face attitudes. Tattooed girls were considered prostitutes, biker chicks, or trailer trash unworthy of any decent man's attention.

This is a "geek girl" by my standards:
