De-Escalation and Re-Escalation

I've heard somewhere that sex is an emotional decision for a girl and not a rational one.

Last week, I was with a cute girl in my city with nice breasts and a very slender frame. Pretty much a first date. She asked me out, which was a huge IOI.

We started out in the city, but I proposed we get a bottle of wine and go back to her place instead of another bar. We did. Throughout the night, I slowly turned her on, but I couldn't get her into that emotional frenzy where she is begging to be fucked.

We split a bottle of wine at her place and then played questions game for a bit, started kissing on the porch, then moved to the living room where we kissed with me on top of her in the living room where we played some more and finally moved to the bedroom.

My strategy is simple—go for one piece of clothing at a time. If she puts up resistance, I find that it's resistance with her bra, then her pants and then her underwear in that order.

I got the bra and pants off after some de-escalation and re-escalation. But I couldn't get her panties off. So no sex.

To de-escalate, I lay in bed without touching her. Sometimes, I'll go to the bathroom.

I don't say much while de-escalating or re-escalating. It also doesn't help that I'm usually bad at keeping myself away from a half-naked girl for too much time.

What does de-escalation and re-escalation look like for you guys when you encounter last minute resistance?

For the intermediate/advanced level gamers, what words or actions have brought you success when facing last minute resistance.

Thanks!

Freeze out till she warms up, by coming to you or saying "why'd you stop " etc

Repeat as required (within reason)
