In general I agree with your basic premise. Putting a spoiler for any creative piece in the title of the thread isn't the best. On the other hand, Seinfeld just isn't the kind of show that can be spoiled. It's not a surprise twist ending for some movie like Sixth Sense. Trust me, even though you've been "spoiled", you will still enjoy it and will be surprised at how and when it happens. I think people that have seen the episode and full run of Seinfeld are probably thinking you are making much adieu about nothing.

That said, I hate having crap spoiled for me. I was playing catch up on the show 24 back in the day. Not sure how many seasons were out at the time. 5 or 6 i think. Anyway, I'd burned through all of season 1 on dvd and was plowing through season 2 when I saw the cover of some Entertainment magazine rag that spoiled a major plot point down the line.....
] President David Palmer gets assassinated at the beginning of season 5. At the point I was watching he wasn't even president yet.
I ended up never even getting to season 5... got burnt out on it. But at the time I was pretty pissed.

I think in general more recent shows and movies should have spoiler warnings in the title but I don't think something that went off the air almost 2 decades ago warrants a "spoiler warning".

And what was posted in News feeds everywhere as part of the headline for the article.

Maybe spoiler alerts are just a sign of how much entertainment today sucks. You can read Shakespeare a thousand times knowing the ending and still enjoy it because it is literature. Great movies like the Godfather (where Vito Corleone dies in the garden); plays like Hamlet (Hamlet dies); books like the Illiad and Oddessy (most everyone dies; guy makes it home and a lot of other people die); visual art (Leonardo Da Vinci died); and music (Curt Cobain died).

Seriously? Who reads Shakespeare?

It's not entertaining to read a script. People may say that they read Shakespeare, but outside of high school (where it's a real waste of time), nobody reads it.

It's only entertaining on the stage...and that's if it's well acted.

The trick is to read the play shortly before you are going to watch it on the stage to get the most out of it.

There is no doubt that what Sylo is complaining about is the lack of a trigger warning, where the trigger warning in this case is a "spoiler alert".

This should be called a "media surprise" alert, because that's what it is. Oh, let's all let ourselves be surprised by the latest media product! Oh! I'm triggered by someone who spoiled the media surprise!!

Next they'll be applying this to history books. Let's not spoil it for people who haven't heard how history turned out!!!

Or in this case, an episode of Seinfeld, media from thirty years ago.

I think we can officially say that Susan's death has upset Sylo more than it upset Costanza

Seinfeld is a fricken treasure chest of life changing GIFs. I had no idea until I looked, but the soda chair inspired me.
