This is often a line that women ask men as a test.

Does anyone have experience asking this to girls instead? In my mind, it sort of serves as a way to qualify her. But would they get offended (especially if the girl is in her 30s or 40s)?

Generally speaking they will get very offended unless they are one of approximately 5% of women who are truly independent and happy to be so.

I get asked that question a lot, and never have I taken it as a shit test and answered it.

I never ask this to girls because if they are over 30 years old, there's something wrong with them...or career oriented where a man has no place in her life.

I generally stay away from asking a girl this.
