I'd say Phi Phi is a pass, Ko Samui would be better suited for single guy, but I typically take a pass on thai islands altogether since I want to surf, so if I do beach days in SE asia its gonna be in Indonesia, the majority of my time spent in Bangkok and occasionally Chiang mai, Bangkok especially is great all around (food, dating, nightlife, though thats taken a hit last few years)

Could be nice place to bring a thai girl but i think there are better and cheaper options for that too.

i can hands down say Phi Phi has the most competitive vibe than any other place on earth, its not for a place for a average looking guy .... its a very difficult place to get laid imo.. its like they put all model guys on the same island.

Don't let these ripped young bros intimidate you, they don't have a lot else going for them. They are young, inexperienced, broke, and probably don't have that great a game . In my opinion a lot of these bros aren't as a tough a competition as you think unless you are surrounded by girls that are looking for exactly that kind of guy. (which may be the case in ko Phi phi and khao san rd but not in many other places). In bangkok some younger hot girls would rather go out with a shorter average or even asian guy with looks, style, game MONEY and some cultural knowledge rather then some sloppy young bogan with beer stains all over his tank top and flipflops just because he's kinda tall and ripped. Those guys can't take them to the rooftop bars and give them a little taste of that fancy lifestyle they crave.

I don't mind some tough competition if the reward is great, but it makes zero sense for me to compete over some 22 year old 15 pound overweight British chick girl shotgunning beer at some blacklight party on the beach, when 1 hour flight north you can get 10 times better with 1/10th the work.

Beach towns are always hard because they always attract more single men then women, especially if its a surf destination. Thats why if I go to the beach I usually bring a girl with me.

For example 2 weeks ago flew up to north of Peru to surf in this little town, I brought one of my Venezuelan bottoms with me from Lima, glad I did as the dudes in the town were THIRSTY AS FUCK, she was getting pestered constanty. It was no suprise as it looked like the town was 70% dudes, typically of a surf town. Its always like that in beach towns, its not worth the competition even if you do fit the bill.

Going to beach, my personal policy I always bring my own bitch, always.

wrong imo, plenty have pretty decent verbal game apart from looks, its just a horrible place to find girls imo.

I completely agree with zamfir on the "ripped bros". Australia is one of the most hyper competitive game environments in the world for men. I'd say Aussie guys in general have some of the best game, on average, of any nationality I've met. Some of the Aussie lads on the Thai islands absolutely have no game, but a lot of them have very good game. Style, looks, money and cultural knowledge won't go far against them on a party island where its all about how good you look topless.

I'm going to go against the grain of the last few posts and say I loved Phi Phi and all of the rest of the Thai islands. But it requires a very particular style of game - caveman game combined with having a very good physique, since you're always topless or at most wearing a tank top. If you're heavily into weightlifting at home you can have an absolutely fantastic time there, women-wise. Its pretty easy to get laid every night if you want to. There are plenty of British/Aussie/Scandinavian girls in full on holiday-slutting-it-up mode who'll go happily home with you after a bucket. Lots of girls carrying 5KG too much yeah, but also a decent minority of hotties.

But if you've an average, or below average, body then you'll struggle because its such a purely physical environment. Ratios are bad (maybe 70/30), so you do need to be in very good condition to stand out. And theres no hiding underneath clothes. As long as you go into it knowing this in advance (and being honest with yourself about your body) you'll have a good time though.

Age-wise it varies a lot by time of year. In the European summer months its a bit younger since its mostly university students on their summer holidays. But October->May its a bit older. Plenty of girls in their mid 20s.

The islands are also stunning scenery wise, and much more tolerable weather wise than Bangkok. And some of them have good activities on them - scuba diving, the Full Moon Party etc. They're definitely worth seeing once for that touristy side of things alone.
