Online dating in my city sucks.

Although we're the fourth biggest city in a fairly large province, you wouldn't be able to tell that with the selection on OkCupid and PlentyOfFish. I mean it's bad, they're a dogs, fat or very full of themselves/insane for no good reason.

I know my online approaches probably leave a lot to be desired, but I've tried a few tips I've seen on this forum and end up with no responses. I guess the only exception was my ex-gf which I met online.

Until now, I've ignored single mothers but have come to realize the fact that they're probably horny as hell and might be good for a fling. Though even good ones there are far between.

Advice? Do I just give up on the online dating game or keep wading through the same-old same-old batch of girls who haven't updated their pictures for a very long time?

Except I never get any messages out of the blue. None. I've revised this profile several times and think it's pretty good. Not sure if I can link it here for you guys to review.

Actually, I was considering changing my city to a larger, metropolitan one here to test out if it's my profile that gets so few responses, or just the quality of girls in my city.

Its the nature of online dating. If the girls were attractive and mentally stable they wouldn't be on there. You find a few gems now and then but they're very much a minority.

This is probably true as a generalization, but I think a lot of it really depends on your location. I have a few friends in SF that have killed it off OK Cupid (although the quality was in the 6-8 range), online dating seems to be very normal, accepted, and widely used in the bay area. I have done tons of searches in SF/East Bay and there are quite a bit of hot women that seem cool from their profiles, meanwhile a year ago I checked out OK Cupid for Austin, TX before I did a week long trip out there, and was very disappointed with what I saw.

Austin, is known for it's high percentage of cute young women and a decent sized "gaming/dating" market, but I was shocked by how few attractive women were on that dating site. Overall, women that are extremely attractive 8.5 + don't really do online dating simply because they get approached and hit on men constantly no matter where they are, and have a mulititude of options to choose from.

I just came across this in a profile:
Quote:Quote:

The Good Lord blessed me with a wonderful, loving family and the best friends anyone could ask for. My faith and relationship with Him are at the top of the list for importance in my life. I'm looking for someone with the same beliefs, morals, and values and who will put his own relationship with God above all else.

Such a turn-off. I live in a goddamn hick-town bible belt. Work and family are keeping me here though...

How's the church dating scene? There's gotta be some girls in your town who are rebelling against the mainstream. I have a buddy who spent a few years working in Little Rock, and he said there was an underground of people who partied and listened to cool music but mostly kept to themselves otherwise since the city was so conservative. Where do you approach when the internet is down?

I didn't actually consider this. I'm atheist, so I don't know. Lots of Mormons and Catholics (was raised one) here.

When the internet is down? This is where I need to step up. I don't have any game (yet) but have been working up just talking to random strangers about anything to learn how to make good rapport and use body language.

I usually go to a pub, but that's being fruitless. Besides clubs (we're a college town so it's quiet now) there are a couple of places with live music all the time. Only problem there is the tone/pitch of my voice - it doesn't carry, haha!

I forget who said it (think Tuthmosis or OldNemesis) but I wouldn't count the married to Jesus girls out. What was said (by whomever it really was) was something along the lines of "if they were really a good religious girl they wouldn't feel the need to state it so upfront"

yeah, some of the "religious" girls are the biggest undercover freaks.

In regards to the profile, ignore that shyt. It's just filler, the same way a chick will tell you she has a boyfriend but giving you a tug job at the same time.

I pushed myself recently into the belly of some lizard that was waffling on about the same lines. Approach the same way you would approach anyone else..
