Atlantis, enable your PMs, if you're looking for a month+ rental in Chapinero for cheap, let me know, I have a Gringo buddy who has rooms in his house to let.

Ahah, I just arrived and currently fighting to find an apartment at the moment, I'm tempted to spend NYE in MDE.
But I do like Bogota [Image: smile.gif], the weather is great, the girls are great (10+ dates, only one flake), super cheap.
The only thing that is scary are the malls with soldiers and shotguns.

I thought maybe that was a 90's thing. I spent a brief amount of time in Bogota twice in the late 90's and the mall was covered up with heavily armed soldiers with German shepards. I didn't see any at the malls in Medellin or elsewhere. Maybe Bogota has a problem with their malls. dunno.

But thanks for the report. I'm thinking to swing by Bogota for a bit, so it's good to hear it's a fun spot.

Great post Tully Mars.

I am looking forward to New Years so I can wear yellow underwear, walk around the house with my suitcase and then fill my pockets with lentils.

Since sharing with strangers in London, I'm really reluctant to that again.
I prefer my privacy, it's really awkward and hard for me to pull with people in my house ahah [Image: smile.gif].
Generally it is, get in, this is my place and there is only my bed [Image: biggrin.gif].
But thanks [Image: wink.gif].

Myself and another forum member are looking for January 3rd - February 3rd. We need a 2 bedroom and our budget is 3.200.000 (1000 USD). We are working on a film project and most of our meetings will be in the Zona Rosa area so close to there.

During that month I will look for my own place while on the ground and my budget is 500 USD. If it is not possible to find a 2 bedroom we will split up and rent separately for the whole trip.

Obviously we'd be happy to take you out for dinner and drinks as a way of saying thanks. Airbnb seems to be overpriced as it was my last trip to Medellin. We found one place for 1100 in zona rosa but when she found out there were two of us she raised the price to 2000. [Image: tard.gif]

Your best bet is to get a place for 3-4 nights and do a ground pound during the day....checking for Arriendo signs and talking to porteros... again this takes a level of spanish.... also a $1000 a month for a short term rental in the zona rosa area....highly unlikely without connections unless you look at places off ave 15 near unilago which is reaching.... my advice is to checkout Chapinero....or a room share on airbnb.....buena suerte

I was more asking so the other guys on here would be able to point you in the right direction.
I know a good few guys on here have contacts for other neighborhoods for example. I will ask around though and see what I can do.

Thanks Atlantic and Tully for the info. My dates here are wrong. I meant to write Feb 3rd. That is the date I land in Bogota. I plan to stay at least 3 months but longer if I find good accommodation.

I finally made it to Bogota and found a place in Zona Rosa for 1200 USD. Close to Armando Records. Looking for gyms, and long term apartments now. Shout out to Tully for setting me up with good nightlife recommendations and giving good info +1.

Sounds like you guys had a great time there. Any info about the student life there? Might do an exchange semestre in Bogota

hey i'm going to be in colombia for around 3 months in may and at least 1 month in bogota. i'm seeing decent studios in chapinero for 500-600 pounds a month on air-bnb. i messaged one last month and they confirmed it's cool to bring "guests" which of course is a 100% must.

I'd be grateful for any advice where is good to stay and what works with the chicks here (i have an idea been brazil and peru). i understand chico and zona t is even better but can't see any air bnbs there.

cheers
