[Data Sheet] Surabaya, Indonesia

General Information
Located in the east of Java, Surabaya can be described in one sentence: A smaller and more relaxed version of Jakarta. Jakarta is a shithole, as many of you already know. Surabaya is not that much of a shithole as Jakarta. The Traffic situation is slightly better, but there is absolutely nothing you can do in Surabaya except going to malls and restaurants. Nevertheless, it is a good city to bang girls, thanks to the high population (it is the second-largest city in Indonesia with more than 3 million people) and the relatively low amount of foreigners staying/living in Surabaya. What’s more, a big part of the population is from Chinese descent. So all of you who like Chinese looking girls should definitely give Surabaya a shot.

Logistics
What I loved about my stay in Surabaya was my hotel. I was traveling on a very tight budget and I always chose my accommodation carefully. In Surabaya it is best to stay near Tunjungan Plaza (TP), the most popular mall. Those who can afford it can stay at the Sheraton Hotel, which is located right next to TP. I chose to stay at Midtown Hotel (5mins walk from TP) and was very happy with it. For only 35$ I got the best hotel deal I ever had on my travels in SEA. When it comes to value for money accommodation, I think Surabaya is one of the best cities in Southeast Asia. Staying near Tunjungan Plaza also means that you are not far from the most popular nightlife venues.

Transportation
Unsurprisingly, there is no subway or skytrain here. Only city buses, angkots (small minibuses), motorbike taxis, cabs and rickshaws. Since the traffic is not as bad as in Jakarta, I would stick to normal taxis when it comes to longer distances. For shorter rides you can use the cheap angkots, given that you know which one to take. They are usually between 2.000 and 3.000 Rupiah. Never use rickshaws – they are very slow and not really cheaper than normal motorbike taxis (called Ojek).

Online Game
Tinder works well in Surabaya. Not as well as in Jakarta, but it definitely is the number one way to go. Skout and Indonesiancupid are the second choice while Dateinasia had only a few girls from Surabaya at the time I checked.

Nightlife Venues
I haven’t seen much of the nightlife in Surabaya, since I always had dates at night. However, there are various venues in Surabaya and from what I have heard the city has a good nightlife. When I return to Surabaya I will definitely check out more of the city’s nightlife:

The most popular bars and clubs are:

Colors Pub: I went there once with a date. Good but loud life music, good food, no real dancefloor. At the night I was there I saw some hookers and a few older expats. Sunday is student’s night, called University of Colors. They have a very long bar making it easy to strike up conversations with other people sitting at the bar. The rest of the bar is typical Asian layout – a lot of tables and no real dancefloor.

Desperados:
A bar located inside the Shangri-La Hotel. It is said to have a lot of expats and hookers. I have never been there though.

Vertical Six Club & Lounge: Located inside the JW Marriott hotel. Unfortunately I never made it there. So I can’t tell if the place is filled with hookers or normal girls. If I had to guess, I would say that this is the place to go to pick up the upper-class girls of Surabaya. I will definitely check it out on my next trip to Surabaya. Wednesday is student’s night, Thursday Ladies night.

M1 Superclub:
One of the newest clubs in town. Most of the girls I talked to online like it very much. It is also on my list for my next Surabaya visit.

Other popular places are Coyote Ten Club (inside Tunjungan Plaza), Blowfish (Japanese restaurant + lounge + club), Penthouse Club (on top of Central Point Mall) and 360 Club.

A little far from the city center you can find G Walk. It is one of the hippest places in Surabaya. Basically it is just a street packed with chilled restaurants and bars. Delicious food for reasonable price can be found there. Unfortunately it takes 30-45 minutes from the city center to reach it by taxi, depending on the traffic.

Things to do around Surabaya
Not much. The best you can do is to hop on a train to Probolinggo and hike the Bromo volcano. Even better than Bromo is a volcano called Kawah Ijen, which spits blue fire in the middle of the night. It is one of only two places in the world where you can see blue fire. You can go all down inside the crater to the crater lake (but better put on one of the gas masks they offer for rent) and watch the sulfur workers carrying 100lbs pieces of sulfur all the way up out of the crater. While Bromo might be doable in a daytrip, Kawah Ijen definitely needs more time. But you can do both on your way to Bali. I booked a tour for 800.000 Rupiah in Probolinggo including 2 nights in a shitty guesthouse + Bromo Tour + Kawah Ijen with blue fire (make sure the blue fire is included!) + transport to Bali.

Since Surabaya is the gateway to the eastern part of Indonesia, you can find a lot of cheap domestic flights. Bali is only a few minutes flight away, Sulawesi less than 2 hours.

Summary
Surabaya is perfect for those who want to escape Jakarta or simply want a cheaper Jakarta. It’s a city where all you can do is bang girls and your exotic value will be higher than in Jakarta. Surabaya is one out of three places in Indonesia that offer a decent nightlife. The other two are Jakarta and Bali. Hotels are cheap and available at good locations. Online game works well due to the high population. In my opinion, Surabaya is definitely worth a visit. I would rather go to Surabaya to chase pussy than to Bali. I think Surabaya would also make a good city to live in long term, without knowing about rental prices or internet speed, though.

My recommendation: If you want to visit Jakarta AND Bali, simply fly from Jakarta to Surabaya and then head to Bali overland, visiting Bromo and Kawah Ijen.

Excellent datasheet by OP.

Flew in 2 days ago, here 2 weeks on business.

Got SIFfed yestdary (first time in a while!). Bitch angled to perfection, showed up at 230 lb on a 5'4" frame. I told her to fuck off via WhatsApp, she told me "Your ar lier, heartbreaker, thanks" and ate a huge ice cream as I stormed off in a fury, so win-win.

Did a chubster from Tinder today for the flag, but she had a cute face and good attitude so I bit the bullet. Have some skinnies in the pipeline, and the attitudes of the females here are great.

Big brown booty:

Though I am actually not half bad with the lingo (Saya pun bisa cakap Bahasa Indonesia) LINUX has inspired me with his thread and I am dropping only English on the beezies.

Bootybounce vid available if there is interest.

Would be ecstatic to meet some RvFers! Leaving SUB on the 21st.

Non-shitpost tomorrow if I get steady internet.

Indonesia's been on the map for a while. I'll have to check it out. I'm considering doing a holiday trip and alternating between Jakarta and Surabaya or Manila and Cebu. Great sheet.

Maine and Canadian lobsters are the same animal. Prove me wrong.

I didn't realize they made them like that.

Actually spoke astonishingly well. Was sweet and demure as we walked back to the hotel hand-in-hand from the mall, gave exactly 5 min of LMR, then fucked like a tigress.

Highly tight, very juicy, wouldn't rim, wouldn't give head. Biter and screamer

Afterwards "Oh no, I cheated on my boyfriend!" [Image: sleepy.gif] [Image: angel.gif]

"Boyfriend" is apparently a Russian dude in Bali who pays for college, cabfare, and flights out to Bali to see him (she's leaving Wed)

Bump

Passed through Surabaya for a few days recently. Was actually there during the bombings which was pretty surreal because at all times I felt welcomed, safe and found people friendly.

Just to add and update to the OP information, which was on point.

I went to Desperados at the Shangri-la hotel and can confirm it was a dirty, loud underground dive bar which even to me looked full of hookers and old expats. Didn't even stay for a drink.

I highly recommend a bar called Our Bar. Great music, service and a balanced crowd of hip locals and the spattering of expats. I was there with some friends but generally felt the vibe was very approachable and friendly there. A quieter beer garden outside made it easy to talk.
Probably the closest thing to a Western bar/pub I imagine in the city.

Gwalk worth the visit but is a long way out.

Another place of note is House of Sampoerna museum, the renowned cigarette brand in Indonesia. I advise getting there early to see the factory workers hand roll cigarettes at lightning speed

Overall. Surabaya worth a visit in my opinion.

I see the upside of Surabaya, however besides chasing girls there is nothing really to do there. Maybe it's great to spend a weekend and take advantage of the potential while travelling in the region anyway. But personally I think that there is no need to stay a longer time in a boring city in Indonesia just to bag girls. The easy girls are all over the country, so I prefer to travel as usual to the beautiful places the country offers and just bang the girls there. The trip gets much more added value and from my experiences the quantity of lays won't differ a lot from staying in one place only.

from my experience, nice touristy places and hot local girls are mutually exclusive in most places in Asia. I have traveled all over Sulawesi and Java and in most places the girls were either hideous or way too conservative. It's a lot more fun in Jakarta, Surabay or Bali, where the girls are more liberal and speak better english.

My recommendation: If you want to visit Jakarta AND Bali, simply fly from Jakarta to Surabaya and then head to Bali overland, visiting Bromo and Kawah Ijen on the way. Perfect mix of girls and sightseeing.

[Data Sheet] Surabaya, Indonesia

Man i was mislead by the surabaya datasheet. I was there two weeks ago, what a fucking SHITHOLE!! I almost shortened my 4 nights stay there. THERE IS FUCKING NOTHING TO DO THERE. The only good thing about Surabaya it’s crazy cheap, i stayed at the Marriott for 60€/night. Nightlife sucks i went to club 360, all hookers/GRO, i left after 30 minutes. I also went to jimmys club at marriott, very few people, shitty EDM COMMERCIAL music, nothing special. Tried other pubs like colours& our pub : people were hanging in groups, it was difficult to open girls.
One thing worth mentioning here, the stigma being seen with a foreigner is so high, girls aren’t simply willing to take the risk even though they want. I managed to date a chinese chick there( sourced from instagram , cute face , slim and nice ass ( a 7 for me, pm for pic). Met her at the tunjungan mall 5 minutes walk from Marriott, the entire date she was trying to hide her face from people, there were taking pictures of us and shit!. Apparently she was semi-famous or something. I gamed her for 45 minutes then i proposed to move somewhere else. Told her let’s grab a drink in the hotel lounge (excuse). Well the entire 5 minute walk was a nightmare, the heat is unbearable (37 degrees) , and during the entire walk, men were harassing her and throwing some nasty comments about her being with me!! Finally i managed to skip the drink and we went straight to my room. After 15min LMR I GOT THE BANG. Nice juicy and tight pussy. The moaning part was nice. I guess she was a bit experienced.
Day game was bad, girls are super shy and everyone stares at the mall which made it difficult to close, i didn’t bother after few attempts.
Tinder wad bad! Well i was hoping the law of supply and demand would Work in my favour, i was wrong! The girls are slow to respond, flaky and quality was bad. They were simply not interested in quick hook up again due to the stigma. Some of the indo-chinese girls were cute but they stick to their own. Surabaya is full of them, even more than jakarta i had the impression.
The highlight of the trip was BROMO volcano, it was worth it. Took some mad pictures and i had a blast there and honestly it was the only reason i bothered going to surabaya in the first place.
In my opinion, Surabaya is not worth visiting. Jakarta is simply better in all aspects although quality is going downhill since my 1st visit in 2017 , i noticed the decline everytime i went back there. But still i managed to bang 5 girls in 4 days this time(mini trip report soon to come). Heck even cities like yogyakarta are better in all aspects than surabaya.
PS: a bit of background about me, late 20s, european, 5’8, slim. Well travelled in europe and asia.

5'8 says it all. Even in the backwaters of Asia the women have been spoiled by 6'5 Swedish surfers.

Actually just kidding but some factual truth to it (especially in the more touristy islands). But the guy did warn there isn't much to do in Surabaya.

Personally if one goes to South East Asia I don't see the appeal in venturing out of BKK or Angeles City (unless you genuinely like beaches but I never met a guy who does. Single men go to the beach towns with intent of meeting girls or partying).

You’re right about the girls being spoiled part. In Jakarta i saw one of the worst spreads in the dating market along with manilla. I mean some of the guys are model level pairing up with absolute low level skanks! They skew the market and make it harder for the rest. Just to give you an example. IN jakarta, i chatted on tinder with 6 who barely responded to my messages then she ghosted. Guess what, that night i ended up spam approaching in the club and accidentally i ended up with the same girl from tinder (Although she was the one who recognized me after 15 minutes conversation lol). I brought her back to my hotel that night.
Now that tinder got hard, The best strategy to lay girls above 5 is approaching in real life. even in SEA Shitholes.

Outside Jakarta or Bali there really isn't anywhere else in Indonesia worth going for nightlife or chasing skirt.

Luckily tho Jakarta is one of the best places globally for both...

I think you undersold Bromo and Ijen, these are two natural wonders of the world in my opinion. If you're super into views and natural beauty these are a must see, it's a shame that it's very touristy and overcrowded though

Bromo is absolutely a site to be seen and was my favourite of the two.. When i was there the only tourists i saw were locals and even then it was crowded as hell. One thing i found weird, there seem to be no WGF in Surabaya, compared to yogyakarta. I remember being stopped everywhere on the streets to take pictures. Even while visiting Borobudur and Prambanan temples, i caught a lot of interest from locals.
