Cologne/Bonn - Datasheet (2015)

What is Cologne/Bonn like in November? I went in June 2014 last time which was nice with the good weather.

I think I will go to Bonn this time for an explore as it appears more options available for the nightlife.

I am an EXPERT on this as ive been living in Cologne for years.

November is a fine month...

The 11th is a big party day and the start of Karneval and everyone will be partying all night in costumes.

Bonn is small and a college town.. there will NOT be more options as far as party goes than Cologne. Everyone around here knows that Bonn sucks. It doesnt make sense to go there to party.

2018 Update. I was only there for two days, but thought id add a bit to the exotic factor brought up in this thread.

first of all, holy wow the land of giants. I am 6'2" and have never felt so short in my life. Multiple women taller than me, and at least half of the men. If you are below 5'10 this might be too much of a mind f to overcome. that said, here is a curated day:

1. stay at Steigenberger hotel Koln
2. do whatever during day as a warm up day gaming but just stay close
3. walk over to Spirits for the 10pm - midnight kickoff to the night. great cocktails and atmosphere
4. either meet someone there to go to club (older very cool friendly crowd) with or head to Ivory on your own

In both cases, if you look different and are decently attractive, your exotic factor ( I am american with a Penn Badgley look) will stand you out and make the entire group of cockblocks irrelevant. make sure to add exotic behavior to your lore - i.e. be chill in the club and not rape stare every woman like the young guys there all do. I have never seen anything like it. I was stared at and approached by women the entire night (Im not a male model, this never happens). at the club, the cockblock groups would literally stand in between me and women, and the women would walk around them to dance near me. I felt like a celebrity. The guys are young, rapey and clueless and have an air of desperation which added to their irrelevance.

Funny/Sad: at the end of the night I had choice paralysis, and ended up choosing one that wouldnt let me do anything until we date.

Thats is true , when you get used to Typical (ethnic) GErman and (ethnic) Dutch heights, you start to find women from other countries pretty small sized, that includes American, australian, British, etc women and people in General.

I doubt there is much exotic factor in Koln, considering how diverse that city is, not on the level of Frankfurt or Berlin but still pretty Diverse.

Glad you visited. I been here for about 7.5 years now and some of your observations mirror what I have been saying about Cologne.

You'll face problems if you are anything but a tall white dude here.

Ivory is actually a club with a tight door (well used to be but is SERIOUSLY on the decline these days) You just came from the US and got in like it was nothing. When I first got here I had to network in order to be able to get in there. Depending on how old you are you would he been better off going to Flamingo Royal.. The girls are younger, hotter and probably would have gone back to the hotel with you if you got the right one. I have many dates and ONS from there.

Spirits is actually a really good place. I have done many warmups there and also a nice place to take girls for cocktails since many don't seem to know about it.

As far as the rape stare, Germans always stare so yeah you are right on that.

Cologne/Bonn - Datasheet (2015)

Hey guys. I'll start my first message with the usual "I am a long time reader" opening.

Since I have lived and partly am still living in Cologne since like forever, I'll share my first post on Cologne.

About myself: Mid 30s, decent looking, good shape guy that knows how to talk but not really big into daygaming, only if it is a warm approach and there have been signs of interest. Nightgame is more for me. My bonus factor has to be that I am really tall compared to the usual club and bar goers and I can pretty much stand out from every crowd ;-)

Kirdiesel seems to now what he is talking about since I can confirm a lot of venues he has mentioned.

Especially his info on Candyshop and Ivory being the top venues with the most beautiful girls is right on point. Expect a tough door selection but if you show up as a decent guy and hold a conversation, chances are high you will be allowed inside. Girls as company of course always helps. Candyshop is a little on the younger side and takes place further out from the city center, once a month in a big venue.

Pregaming / bars: I had really good experiences in the "belgisches viertel". Especially in the summer time when the life takes place outside a lot more. Just stroll around and find the venue which you like best if you look at the people. Mostly it will not take long to make some connections and have some decent conversations sharing some drinks.

Nightlife: Can be divided by the different areas it takes place.
- Zülpicher Str.: More student area with the according younger guests. High potential and cheaper prices.
- Hohenzollernring: Some posh clubs along the way with the classical EDM / RNB music. I would say avoid by any means. There is some potential in females but the crowds seem to be very rowdy and there s always some shit happening. Never really liked it but it can be your hunting grounds in your early twenties.
- belgisches Viertel: There are numerous bars and clubs which are worth a visit and most of them dont even have an entrance fee. This area is my choice and I highly recomend. Door selection is a little tougher sometimes but not a problem if you are a decent human being. Plus there are options right next door.
- Altstadt: Mostly breweries which can be really fun as well. But just not my cup of tea.
- Ehrenfeld: A little more on the alternative side but can be a great time as well. CBE and the newer venue Buhmann are pretty good bets.

Carneval: I freaking hate the music but its always fun and if you dont get layed around that time (twice a year) than there is something seriously wrong with you [Image: tard.gif]

If anybody would like any new info or maybe even meet up => pm. I won't be frequenting this platform like a lunatic but am always willing to share and support having a good time.

Hey guys I’m gonna be visiting a friend in the southern part of the Netherlands next month. We’re gonna do Amsterdam for a few nights then check out cologne for 1-2 nights and Belgium for 1-2 nights. Any suggestions for nightlife in cologne for Sunday-Tuesday? Same question for Brussels/Antwerp. Thanks

Yes. Stay away from cologne during those days ??
No seriously. Sunday and Monday are the worst days in cologne for nightlife. You might catch a student party around zuelpicher str. Or get lucky in the old town in some bar. But that's highly unlikely. Maybe a pub crawl if there are any on those days.
On Tuesday it used to be good in nachtflug. Still a crowd but it changed and not a relaxed atmosphere anymore.
Wednesday to Saturday night there sure is something. Depends on your age. It's too early for carnival (march).
Don't know good suggestions for antwerpen.

Sam Buca is correct!

I would suggest changing your plans around.

Also I have data on Antwerp. I spent many nights there a few years ago and gave up it was so abysmal.

Just to chime in on the race part of it, coming from somewhat minimal experience here but I have noticed that it is rare I have a decent experience with a German expat girl here in the US. The attitude with them and Dutch women is really snarky, patronizing and overall rude; to a slightly lesser extent the same with Belgian women but there's not much quality there. What's weird is I have a way better experience with British and French women despite the notion that women of those countries being horrible for brown guys (even though I was born and raised in the US).

I have a pretty good experience with American women of German heritage or mostly German heritage but it does seem like Germany itself is a different story. Even before the refugee crisis really took off and made news, I was having a lot of bad experiences and cold rejections from German women as a whole.

Outside of going for black guys, they don't seem to be into any of the more "exotic" minority groups. I find that their racial preferences are a lot more strict than American and western women who I have had an easy time with. Could be a mixture of German society itself than just race though, by nature I don't aggressively game and do any of that KINO/PUA stuff. They do really love black guys though and seem to let their guard down around black men, with brown men of any kind the hostility picks up fast.

Haha ok thanks for the advice. This is more or less what I figured would be the case for those nights but I wanted to check out Germany and Belgium while I was there because my friend lives about an hour from each and figured it would be cool to hit a few countries in one trip. Actually had no plans to go to Europe but saw a special with Norwegian airlines for non-stop round trip flights from NY-Amsterdam for $318 so I jumped on it and booked....the plan now is for my friend to meet me in Amsterdam and stay there from Wednesday-Sunday and then crash at his place Sunday-Wednesday and check out cologne and Brussels/Antwerp...so the bulk of the partying will be the first 4 nights in Amsterdam and I just wanted to do some sightseeing and eating in Germany and Belgium with the slim hope we could catch some decent nightlife also. Not sure how much it will help but he does speak fluent Dutch and has a couple friends who are originally from Amsterdam so can’t hurt. Unfortunately according to him where he lives is terrible for gaming so that’s probably a no-go. I’ve been pipelining on tinder plus and set my location to his home town with a 40 mile radius but so far not a single match so who knows. Online game isn’t my strongest suit anyway especially when traveling when I usually do very well with night game. I dont travel just for ass but it is definitely a big factor so hoping to have some success in Amsterdam at least and could care less whether it’s a dutch girl or tourist. Either way they’re pretty much all gonna be foreign and different to me aside from American chicks who I have no problem banging either

Depending on your stats you should do well in Amsterdam. It will be the easiest for girls compared to all the places you are going. Where does your Dutch friend live because I tend to do ok on Tinder in the Netherlands (just out of curiosity).

@kirdiesel. I’m 32 but look 25, white, fair skinned, brown hair, 5’11’’ 175 fit not jacked, above average looks, and well dressed so I don’t know how that will fair there but I usually do at least decent in most places. This is however my first time in Europe as a single dude. Only other time was Spain with my ex. But I’ve done pretty good in Montreal which is pseudo European. My friend lives in Heerlen. None of these countries were really very high on my list of places to travel but with an unbeatable price on the flight and a local connection I couldn’t pass it up.

With those stats you should be getting matches on Tinder. I suggest doing a quick overhaul and pipeline before coming over.

In that immediate area (close to Heerlen) Maastricht is the best place to meet women. Aachen in Germany is closer but I hear of bad ratios since theres a large Engineering school in the city.

There ain't shit to do in Heerlen. Your buddy is absolutely right. I am in that area sometimes on the weekends since most shops are open on sunday.

Amsterdam is the better choice over cologne if you go out. It's just too long ago (3 years) that I have been there to give some good advice on sites since everything changes really quick. I do remember Jimmy Woo being crazy when I was there twice, Chicago Social club around the corner (both at Leidseplein). Can't remember the other ones. Everything is packed on weekends. During the week a pubcrawl might be a decent choice sometimes. Really young crowd but mostly scrubs and always some decent travelling females in the mix. Logistics is a huge factor. If you are staying out of the center you have to take a cab. Never figured out these dumb night busses since the trams are not going after midnight or early morning hours.

As mentioned for Cologne during the week it is tough. In one of my previous posts in here I wrote that there is some smaller restaurants and bars on the Aachener str. going out of town from Rudolfplatz. Might be a good chance to chat some people up and start your own party. The restaurants are pretty decent as you mentioned to look for food as well. Or pick a Brauhaus in the old town and try your tourist bonus.
When exactly will you be in Cologne? Maybe you are lucky and there is some special afterwork party going on ...

@kirsiesel that’s what I thought as well. I literally don’t even have one match and have probably swiped right on at least 100 girls so far. I think it may have to do with me still being in NY and showing that I’m thousands of miles away despite setting my location to Heerlen but not too sure.

@sambuca. Yeah aside from the sightseeing I want to do in Amsterdam that will be the bulk of the partying as we’ll be there on the weekend anyway. My expectations for girls on this trip in general aren’t super high however I’m cautiously optimistic and hopeful for Amsterdam at least. Germany and Belgium I just want to check out because I’ll be right near them and figure why not. Yeah that’s the problem....any of the info on here regarding Amsterdam seems to be fairly outdated....my friend does have some contacts in Amsterdam tho so hopefully they’ll be helpful. Ok cool. Yeah based on my research on here and elsewhere I’m planning on booking a hotel within a half mile of leidseplein and paradiso which has been hyped on here and also confirmed by my friend as a good club. Yeah I agree logistics is a huge factor and a very critical part of my trip planning anywhere I go....more important in some places than others but like I stated above I’m planning on booking something in walking distance to leidseplein. Yeah a brauhaus would prob be a good option if for nothing else a good classic German experience regardless of girls. I’ll be back in heerlen on 2/10-2/13 and plan on going to cologne either Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday but most likely Monday or Tuesday. Then I head back to NY Wednesday the 13th
