Book review: Cracking OKCUPID by This is Trouble

Due to the fact that a young blogger named This is Trouble hacked into my personal details and then threatened to dox and SWAT me at the same time I am now forced to do a review of his brand new book on OKCUPID. Kidding aside - I sometimes commented on his blog, he asked me to take a look at it. I said yes, because I like his stuff - that's about it. (Also I would like to clarify that I have no financial incentive to recommend the product.)

From what I have taken of his blog Kyle is young man (23) with half-white half-Asian heritage who is in the Game for years despite his relative youth. He seems to be a smart and extreme performer in life already making close to six digits in the corporate world (STEM related field/ now sales - from what I know).

His blog: http://thisistrouble.com/ His new book: http://crackingokcupid.com/

He got most of his experiences dating in San Diego and now in LA. Both cities are not easy in terms of dating and banging hot chicks. Especially taking into account that Kyle seems to be mostly into white hot chicks. (No offense here for personal tastes. I have a black friend in Norway who only likes white girls and I know a white guy who prefers to date black girls. It's a free world as far as I am concerned.)
I guess he started running online Game a lot due to his busy lifestyle and forging a career in life, although he strongly recommends men to run Day Game or Night Game as well. Why do I mention Kyle's credentials? Well - things would be a bit different if you had a 6'3 white model-looks bloke writing a booklet about how easy it is to bang models on Tinder or OKCupid. Anyone studying the Red Pill knows that this specific blogger has his work cut out for him - he not only seems to have prevailed, but thrived in the tough dating environment of the US/California. Intelligence itself is of little use if you don't weaponize it for seduction.

_______________

Personally I did not run Online Game that often, but based off my experiences it takes a certain skill or finesse - in some instances a specialized strategy to bang the hottest girls possible over a good online site.

The differences between Tinder, OKCupid, Ashley Madison, Seekingarrangements (yes - you can bang there too without paying) are massive but some sites have similarities.

The book has 109 pages and is written in a concise and clear manner.

It brings across all necessary points and likely has some helpful insights both for the Game Newbie as well as the seasoned crimson veteran.

Kyle is in addition to his job a Red Pill Game coach and it shows in his writings as he explains some standard Game principles and why the usual mainstream advice is terrible.

The first part of the book details the ins and outs of OKCupid and he goes through the initial set-up process. Kyle explains every detail from the username chosen on how Game principles have to be taken into account.

I found the chapter about the pictures used also interesting with some new insights I did not know about. Since the author has been researching the topic in his usual analytic way, he seems to have opened dozens of additional accounts experimenting with messages, pics used, names, openers, mid-texts, etc. The work he put into is exactly what someone expects when you decide upon purchasing a guide-book in order to optimize your OKCupid usage.

Kyle shows in great detail how to set up all the account parameters with OKCupid and then later on how to tweak the search engine a bit to maximize the loot, when to message the girls, how to do it and most importantly - what never to do.

While some tips are concentrated on OKCupid specifically, I find it interesting that the guidelines can be used for many other online sites as well - at least those that are not 98% dependent on pictures like Tinder. So essentially it is a book that can help you get laid on POF or match.com just as well.

The price tag of 19,97$ is adequate. The author obviously put a lot work into it and has accumulated enough experience despite his young age to be of massive use even for an older chump like me. It would probably be necessary to tweak some approaches a bit if you are beyond 30 and try to bang 20 year olds, but that in itself does not invalidate the process. Just cheat more on your age and be in really good shape - heh. Usually I found that in person the girl is much more forgiving of a man's age if she finds him attractive.

Online girls love to disqualify men quickly and Kyle mentions that fact often - it is important to design your profile such that the least amount of girls has reason to reject you.

Finally Kyle also brushes up on a general guideline on dates and how to best conduct them. In my opinion those tips apply to most online dates.

Thus I can recommend the book CRACKING OKCUPID who as of yet does not get all the dates he wants online and wishes to perfect his approach in the field.

Good review. I'm in the DC area so I can relate to the toughness. I know David DeAngelo has a program from his Double Your Dating series for online dating but it's almost 10 years old and costs upward of 200 dollars. I know the old saying "you get what you pay for" but would it be worth it to drop $20 on this book instead of that? If it's better value and gets you laid, I'm all for it.

I don't know if the products are comparable.

This book is specifically about online Game with a direct focus on OKCupid - the techniques might help you with other similar sites like Plenty of Fish or Ashley Madison for older birds.

10 years is old especially in terms of online Game - partly it's even old in terms of Game itself, albeit the principles remain the same, the science has just moved forward tremendously. Online Dating in 2004 was highly different - there were hardly any smartphones in use back then. This simply cannot be compared.

But on the other hand - I certainly don't know how good his product is - 200$ better be fantastic. Krauser's stuff at 100$ is likely some of the highest prices you can charge and that is for brand-new Game knowledge on hundreds of pages regarding Daygame.

But alas - there are guys out there who pay 2000$ for weekend seminars, so who am I to say to convince them otherwise? And I don't mean Christian McQueen's offer by that because that's basically some high-end partying and a good chance of getting laid - something which might be worth 4000$ if you want to spring the cash.

So the book helps you get contact information from chicks on OKC.

Does it go into the "What happens next?" aspect of it?

Fuck that, $4000, and you can go to the best strip clubs in Miami and assemble a baseball lineup of dancers to fuck and do a copious amount of drugs with for an entire weekend.

Just sayin'.

Yeah - he cover openers, a bit of texting, getting tel number, then transition to dates and then best date options. Part of it is general Game 101.

Two questions:

1. Is he actually banging 'hot white women' way above his league from OkCupid? If Tom Torero can hire an actress for a fake kiss close it's 100 times even easier to say your banging hot white women on a ebook when in fact they are average girls. The reason I ask because banging average girls on OkCupid is pretty easy if your willing to put the work in.

2. Is this much different than Cajun's ebook? http://www.amazon.com/The-Gentlemans-Gui...B0073HG778

1. I think This is Trouble is 5'8 and is half-white, half-Asian. He is probably good-looking, has green eyes. He describes most (or all) of his girlfriends as white girls. There is no reason for him to hire any actresses. A few other bloggers have met him and even went traveling together Lucky Lothario, Sploosh. I don't think that it's terribly easy to bang hot white girls in California - we are not talking NYC here. Also somehow I doubt that he bangs fatties or lizards. He has plenty of self-confidence and he achieved a lot for his age, so I don't see why he should settle for 4s and 5s online.

2. Cajun cannot really be compared - he is much longer in the business and obviously on a different level with credentials that are backed by such guys as Heartiste. My book review was just that, it does not detach the book from the market out there. It's possible that there are ebooks out there which offer similar or even superior content for that price (or cheaper). Cajun's ebook might be one of them, but I have not read it yet. It's also possible that you can collect all the knowledge by perusing Game blogs like these and get it for free just with more time invested in the process. That holds true except for the most cutting edge or elaborate material out there.

So don't hold me accountable if you have bought the ebook and you don't like it enough. My take is that most can profit from it and get more bangs. That probably holds true to other ebooks out there.

I spent a good part of yesterday reading his blog and he has a lot of solid, commonsense advice. Since I'm already deep into another OKC phase I figured what the hell and dropped $20 for his ebook. It's a PDF and around 110 pages. It's a pretty quick read and I was done in a couple of hours. A lot of the info in the book is standard practice (use copy/paste messages etc.) but there's some good insights there and it's organized in a concise, easy to follow format. It's also interesting that he uses a first date formula very similar to the Tuthmosis first date bang recipe.

Thanks for sharing, this is helpful. I considered buying it, but I already have Cajun's book on kindle and I've read Tuth's first date bang recipe. So I probably don't need to buy this one.

Thanks for the review. I might check it out. If he's cracked the code to banging 8s im all ears but i've read and experienced a lot already on the subject so most will be rehashed but there is probably some good tips. I'm sure the book is gold for anyone starting.

Maybe I shouldn't chime in here considering I wrote the book, but I did want to address the questions that some of you posed.

First off, Zel - thanks for doing this man. Unexpected but very appreciated.

I certainly won't sit here and say that every girl I've banged off OKC is a model, but I certainly don't go dumpster diving. The majority are white girls, a few Latinas and Asians mixed in here and there, as well. Ethnic girls seem to really dig me, so I'd actually go out on a limb and say that those girls have been an overall higher quality than the white girls.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that my book is ground-breaking but I have had some experienced OKC vets comment to me that they learned a few new tricks. The book is designed very much as a "model to follow" and is written in a "teaching style" - meaning rather than me throwing a bunch of examples and having readers copy/paste openers and profile tidbits, I teach how to have the right approach to online dating. This of course also translates over to real-life interactions and has basic game principles as well.

Also, Zel's right on my height and looks. 5'8", half Asian half white. I'd say I'm a decent looking guy, but I also dress sharp and have put a lot of hours into the gym for years. Been toying with posting a picture on my blog for sometime now, might depend on how the sales of this go, hah.

But with that being said, I'm certainly nothing "special" looks wise - almost any not-hideous guy could get to my level with enough effort. One thing I do have an advantage of over most is a good-paying job and great logistics.

Also figured I'd note that I am offering free profile reviews with a purchase. It was supposed to be for the first 25 buyers, and I've sold well over that, but not many dudes have claimed their review. I'm willing to do profile reviews for anyone on the forum at any point, well past the 25 reviews.

Anyways, thanks again Zel!

Book review: Cracking OKCUPID by This is Trouble

TroubleMaker sent me a copy of his book to review a few weeks ago. Full disclosure: I've met Kyle a few times, have gone out with him, and he used to be a writer at ROK where I write from time to time. That said, I have no motivation or financial incentive to inflate or embellish my review, and hopefully my track record speaks of my desire and practice to be fair and impartial. Alright now more importantly to the review...

This reads fast - I finished it during a two hour flight a few weeks ago, and on my iPhone too. I enjoyed the ease of which it read, and it is setup in a linear way so as to progress from the beginning (i.e. creating your profile) all the way to the end of trying to bang.

I agree it is more of a teaching manual. I consider myself pretty well versed in the OKC game even though I have basically retired from it in the past year. A lot of his tips and tricks I agree with, and despite being seasoned in OKC I myself learned a few new things. The tricks on searching, the importance of questions, to name a few.

Another added benefit of the way this book is written is that it can basically cater to anyone, as opposed to only applying to certain people or certain types of people. OKC is everywhere and the model he uses, in my eyes, can be universally applied. So really it doesn't matter what Kyle looks like, although I've met him and can say he is accurate in his own description of what he looks like - decent looking guy who knows how to take care of himself. Most of us are not male model looking guys on here Kyle included (but neither am I [Image: biggrin.gif]), and are not getting by solely on looks, otherwise we wouldn't be on a game board. So the idea that he is getting by on his looks should not be a concern at all.

I'll post some of the negatives too. There are typos here and there. A lot of his methods you can probably assimilate yourself from various sources and will recognize if you have been in the game a while. A few things I disagree with too, though they are not big (i.e. the importance of getting there after her).

But as mentioned there are some pointers in there that were new to even me and I can see working well. Worth the $20? If you are relatively new to OKC/online dating and/or not getting good results, then resounding yes. If you are seasoned and getting good results, I'd still say worth it but that becomes a personal question. I'd probably still buy it because I spend $40-60 on a new date anyway (fucking NYC), so to the extent this book helps me avoid one date I could have screened better for, or bang one quicker it's money well spent.

Finally, no idea on the girls he is banging. Haven't seen any of them but I don't imagine he is dumpster diving by any means.

Zelda great review. May take a look.

Slubu, nice article on the 11 things you learned in 2014. Maybe it is the writing style but it seemed very personable and open.

Doubtless he self-improved a lot, but in my opinion even butt-ugly guys can raise themselves to a male 6 by cutting down body fat, bulking and then they can even raise the bar more via Game, success, lifestyle etc.

The author clearly has done that at an early age as well, so there is no excuse for other guys.
