Last year I approached a solid 7.5 girl in her mid 20s while she was reading a book at the bookstore. We had a good, eye locking conversation for five minutes or so. When I went for the number, she said she had a boyfriend. I persisted a bit and she seemed to laugh at my audacity saying he wouldn't like that.
I ran into her multiple times throughout the year as we hangout at the same places. I'd just say what's up. One time I walked by her at whole foods and said "nice outfit" She'd kind of acknowledge a bit. I never ever saw her with a guy around town so the boyfriend bit might have been a lie.
Whenever I've run into her at a coffeeshop or bookstore subsequently, she's avoided eye contact for the most part.
Last Friday, I go to the coffee shop and look into the other room before I find a place to sit. When I look around the corner, she's sitting right there at a table. She glances up and our eyes meet. It was a very good eye contact. Our eyes locked with some warmth as I looked deep into her eyes for a brief moment then ducked back out of the room to sit in the main room. Within 5 minutes, she comes in the main room to buy a coffee...as she's walking in she is looking right at me like she's looking to see if I'm in there. As she's waiting for her coffee she has open , facing body language, but doesn't look directly at me. I'm sitting down talking to a client on the phone. She gets her coffee and goes back into her room.
An hour later she leaves. She looks at me as she's leaving..then looks away. Then, as she exits the door, she again looks backward at me with a kind of inviting look on her face. I half smiled and did a slight wave to her.
Today, after the weekend she comes in the same coffeeshop and I'm sitting there in my spot. She doesn't even look at me. She gets her coffee and keeps her back to me. I know she knows I'm there. I sense she's either embarrassed she showed me interest last week, regrets showing me interest or is just shy about it. Some guy next to me even knocked over a chair making a huge racket as she's waiting for her coffee and everyone in the room looked except her. She gets her coffee and retreats to her room. I leave within 20 minutes to go to lunch.
I usually avoid women who have rejected me but last Friday is throwing me a little
What's the girl up to? Should I re approach or just wait for her to give IOIs again? Anyone dealt with something like this?
