Local women were their main attraction point aside from the beach. Don't know how that will work out in Cambodia - should have instead tried to do it in Philippines or Indonesia or even Vietnam.

I hate to piss on your parade, but Russia and Ukraine are both experiencing massive currency crises at the moment. As a result, outbound tourism in those countries is in a slump and very few people are travelling. For Russians and Ukrainians, travel to Cambodia will cost 10-15 times what travel to Crimea did in previous years.

In other words, it will be a much smaller and more mixed event (less Russians, more foreigners) than in previous years.

Is anyone on the island now? The word here in Thailand is that the Cambodian gov't has ordered them to cancel the event. I was planning to leave Thailand right after Chinese New Year to check it out.

The festival is still not open. No one knows if it opens. The organizers are still trying to make it happen. Lots of alternative partys are popping up every day.
