Stanford Grad makes new app, further widening the SMV gap

It's a dating app to con career women into spending large amounts of money into the latest and greatest matchmaking service.

Don't know if you guys have been paying attention, for, oh, the last 30 years or so, but every few years a new dating service designed to match women with their ideal partner is always cropping up. Anyone remember Chemistry.com?

These services always fail for the aforementioned reasons (old ugly women with money would be better off using SA.com) but they still manage to get a lot of $$$ from all the desperate single ladies (an unending demographic).

Who other than gameless betas would invite this company to comb through their background and social media activity just for the possibility they might be accepted and given a chance to maybe meet some ridiculously picky and entitled wall candidate?

I was here for the first tech boom, this is just the beginning. Haven't done the research but I'd be fairly sure that the founderette probably banged or is banging someone with VC connections 2.1 mil is angel round stuff (chump change).

I live a few miles from Sand Hill Road - [Image: smile.gif] I could see this actually working to some extent - the Bay Area is full of thirsty motherfuckers.

Many would say she's doable. Bet I'm right - she's banging someone with VC connections or a VC. In fact I'm in the area and I cannot think of one male I work with that wouldn't bang her.

Also 2.1 mill with only 4,500 users is pretty crazy since it sounds like this is her first start up and they haven't even proved if there is even a market there yet. She asked for $750k and people threw money at her when she didn't even ask for it and i assume increase the company valuation.

So we have women making $150,000 a year or so in SF, who spent their best years on the cock carousel, and now thinking they will find a top level beta provider. In their minds they can be 32, burned out at work, borderline used up, lost all feminine touch, and can find a guy who makes even more than them and take them away from their troubles.

So along comes a guy who makes $150,000 a year in SF with a career. He is in reality out of her league, but is not even aware. And he tries to message her and he isn't good enough for her. He doesn't make enough to take away her problems. So even this guy isn't good enough for her. And the .1% success rate continues.

Women have created a HUGE mess and now they get to face up to it. It was men's fault to put women in such a position, but those men, for the most part, have either passed away or are close to it.

So basically the purpose of this app is to channel society's high value guys away from the best women and trick them into marrying hamsters feeling the weight of age about to come down on them.

We here at RVF should only welcome this development. Less competition, and the guys in that bracket that are hip will only laugh at it.

The app will flop exactly as that little trip did. The NYC career women met a bunch of 6-digits-earning Betas, ignored them, while some got banged by sexy bartenders.

This is what women think:

http://laraloveless.com/2015/01/25/do-we...y-possess/

Quote:Quote:

what we really need is a Good Man With An Edge, but that’s a “unique pairing”. You can say that again.

But what are we supposed to do? Give up and settle for the next Boring Nice Guy who comes along? You’ll be bored and frustrated and have to fake a headache every time he wants sex, but hey, he’ll treat you right! You have to have faith and keep looking, whatever the odds are.

And if you find a Good Man With An Edge, marry him.

So what the app will do is pair successful thirsty Betas with mostly wall-women who want to settle. Some in their end 20s and early 30s might even go on a couple of dates and realize that those men are "boring", so they will keep on looking for the Good Man With An Edge - aka Alpha with Game.

Oh - and I'm sure that in some cases the women will want to settle with the Beta - so out of the 19 couples created by the app so far, 12-15 will be divorced - a guy making 150.000$ is an excellent choice for a divorce-candidate. When she has to dread conjugal duty sex, then he is really worth more divorced than married.

The app is truly a genius stroke of a woman to complement the BetaBucks strategy.

You buys are looking at this from the completely wrong angle. Let me lay down some online mack knowledge right now. Gather 'round children

They did, it's called okcupid. But it needs a push in the right direction. There are two ways of doing this.

a) Pay for the A-List membership. Searching girls by attractiveness works incredibly well.

b) If you're not trying to pay money do this

and I will only say this once

"The Kid Strangelove OKCupid formula hack":
1) Create a profile of a SUPER hot girl
2) wait till she inevitably gets the "you're in the top percentage of attractive users" email or notification. This WILL happen if the girl is hot. What this does is change your default matching algorithm (when you pick "special blend") as your sorting option to show you more favorable results
3) Do all of your searching with the hot girl profile, switch to your own profile to message them

Either way - the hotter the girl, the more traditional she will be, so just modify OKC to show you hotter girls.

Ok children, LESSON 2:
This is a STARTUP app, and like all apps in this sphere its trying to monetize FREE users. What does a business like this need?
MORE USERS
Look, this thing is rolled out in San Fransisco and its great, good for them, but only in the last few days have they actually hit their limit for users needed in NYC to sign up - 5000. Out of a city of MILLIONS, they were struggling to get that many. And these are not approved users either, just people in the wait list, before the weeding out can begin
They desperately need users at the start, no one wants to end up like Google+ with a social network that noone uses because they tried to be too exclusive at the start, so you know what that means?
GET IN NOW
The faster you sign up the higher percentage chance you will have of getting "picked", for this app (because they NEED users, desperately).

You will have an additional pussy stream on your phone. Easy peasy.

One of the best pieces of online dating advice I can ever give - NEVER pass up a new dating app. In the earliest stages, the competition is simply NOT THERE

What if your profile is already been flagged for top attractiveness as a guy? Does it work the same? I always get that within 2-3 weeks of signing up, so either I'm good looking and girls have too many options, or it's bullshit.

an online dating app that will have more trouble attracting decent men, than women?

guess there's a first time for everything.

Stanford Grad makes new app, further widening the SMV gap

First thing that will happen is women WILL COMPLAIN that the mystery is gone. That men are not what they used to be, romantic.

I am sorry, I ment to say womyn shall continue to complain.

Second, this will work at least to some degree, because womyn with careeeeer/s want something "cuuuure-ate".

The know they are not attractive and try to find an environment where the competition is missing. Because men tend to spam all message boxes, I would say that 1:10 ratio (man:women) will still keep the womyn engaged. Stroke their ego. This is problematic for RVF community and the like because these women otherwise would accept that they have to compete with Tinder and such ->increased competition -> this would make the women that ARE attractive play harder, i.e. more in our advantage.

And even if we do not care "romanticaly" about thise womyn, we still interact with them in other circumstances, doctor, teacher, nany-state "birou-crap" and their ego is MORE likely to go apeshit when you, a PRIVILEGED WHITE CIS MAN, demand respect and honesty.

The solution to counter this app is what you gentelmen proposed, a software that scans for desirable qualities in a woman (mental and biological).

I see this as a great opportunity for older guys with Most Interesting Man in the World CVs to leech off of well-off well-kept women in their 30s, 40s and early 50s with mundane lives. For example, you could get one to fly to someplace you know and you could be their tourguide/lover while they pay for most of it (I've already done this once). Like TravelGirls in reverse.

Remember how Facebook was originally meant to be exclusive? How did it get from there to here?

It's going to be next to impossible for them to keep this extremely exclusive because they just won't be able to monetise this model. Either they'll have to make it correctly exclusive, i.e. pairing up rich, powerful men with young, hot women, or they'll have to open it up to the thirsty masses (of both men and women). As has been pointed out, why would rich, powerful men be interested in the current model? So, a couple of years down the line, this app won't end up how they say it will be. It will be just another plaebian app.

The other thing that is really going to sink this and that stuck out like a sore thumb to me is that members can give one free invite out. How are they going to enforce any kind of quality control with that? So what happens if a woman has a sister/cousin/best friend who wouldn't get in without an invite? Tell me the invitee is not going to be pressured into giving her free invite to that person. Okay, she could lie and say she's already given it to someone else, but I don't think that's going to be even remotely close to effective at maintaining quality control. Or do those unacceptable sisters/cousins/best friends just go to the head of the line (where they still get assessed before being granted membership)? Let's say that happens, and they then get rejected. Tell me that's not going to go over like a lead balloon. "Of course someone else's uncool sister/cousin/best friend should be rejected, since this is about exclusivity, but my sister/cousin/best friend is not uncool. How dare they!" Any chick who goes against her gaggle and keeps using this app. if they're not all part of it is going to feel major heat from the gaggle.

This is going to be an absolute disaster.

Isn't the cliché about start-ups is that they solve one of the founder's problems? She created an app that brings together men with some verified credentials and post-peak careerist chicks. As if that wasn't enough, the profiles also include information about height.

So, this woman, who's presumably living in San Francisco- one of the most demographically favorable cities for girls- has enough of a problem meeting men suitable for her that she's created an company dedicated to pooling together the men who would meet her initial criteria and making that pool accessible only to women who've already passed their peak.

The most eloquent way I know to sum it all up would be: bitch, how picky is you?

Wait and see. I know it's a flop, but I really hope it works out for them. Then, just like anything that works well, it will be attacked by the left. The hook up site will get all the typical ism's: elitism, ablism, racism, sexism, nobuttonfor-tranny-nonconforming-pan-snowflakesexualism.

Then they will have to bow down before the mighty PC alphabet soup warlords, and open up the site for all, reducing it down to nothing more than ever decreasing quality hook up site.

The current exclusivity is just a marketing technique to get some momentum, like Facebook's was. Facebook went from Harvard, to Ivy, to other "selective schools," to everyone. Did not take long, either.

Also, remember when you needed a referral from a current user to sign up for Gmail? They are using the same trick - personal invitation from a member of the "in group."

Nothing makes the masses thirstier than the impression of exclusivity.

They will relax their "curating" gradually, although some proof of a real CV and a real person might still apply.

What would be interesting would be algorithms in the app which would match people based on CV. That would be really Brave New World. They could narrow it down to say, five socioeconomic groupings.

Quote:Quote:

Alpha children wear grey They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm really awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse.

This app relies heavily on exclusivity - if they relax their terms, then they are a copy of Tinder. It is literally designed to be comb through linkedIn and not match people working for the same company! Without that moronic selective system they no business model.
