British ad censors say model is too hot

Well, not exactly, but close. http://reason.com/blog/2015/01/06/uk-cen...-thigh-gap

In a December 31 ruling, the agency decreed that "the ad must not appear again in its current form" and Urban Outfitters must "ensure that the images in their ads were responsibly prepared." The agency was responding to a complainant "who believed that the model in the picture was unhealthily thin" and the ad "irresponsible and harmful." In upholding this complaint,
Quote:Quote:

The ASA considered that the model was very thin, and noted, in particular, that there was a significant gap between the model's thighs, and that her thighs and knees were a similar width. We considered that the model looked underweight in the picture. We understood that Urban Outfitters' target market was young people and considered that using a noticeably underweight model was likely to impress upon that audience that the image was representative of the people who might wear Urban Outfitters' clothing, and as being something to aspire to. We therefore concluded that the ad was irresponsible. The ad breached CAP Code (Edition 12) rule 1.3 (Responsible advertising).

God forbid ads should have attractive females in them. What will British youth think?

I thought thigh gaps were genetic rather than weight related.

What do British youth think?

Would they stop an ad where a girl was too fat?

Being obese is worse for ones health than being skinny like this model.

Somewhere there's a Lindy West type behind this decision .

Take care of those titties for me.

That's a great point Dusty.

Being obese is now praised, while being thin is censored.

Yeah there is no real health risk associated with being thin.

A doctor told my girl that for her height, her "normal weight" would be about 10 pounds more than she currently weighs. She exercises and eats a very healthy diet.

"What does that mean, "normal weight"?" I asked her. "Normal people are fat, there are lots of health risks associated with being overweight, what health risks does the doctor think you face at your current weight?"

None, of course.

No, for the obvious reason that a fat model wouldn't make other women feeeeeeeel bad about themselves :/

Bonerkiller. No need to censor it, though.

Every girl is underweight when this is your average:

Man, that thin thigh they censored is like a man's perfect dream and a beautiful common sight in EE and that must be called a beautiful slender body to look at, not a skinny or bony one at all.
They should tell the difference easily.
There are more than enough fatty, obese and overweight chicks in the UK.
Now censoring pictures of those numerous lardy bitches would be the real deal [Image: banana.gif]

My response to all these "fat-shaming" weirdos:

I'm sorry you're fat. You are not granted any special status for being this way. As a man, I am wired to select for traits that show youth, health, and fertility. Fat women have (at best) only one of those. Don't complain about my not being "body-positive." I'm being realistic. The fact that YOU are overweight will likely lead you to have health problems.

But don't worry, there IS hope! You see, many men and women do something called exercise. You're on your ass in front of Tumblr/Twitter/whatever for hours a day. If you transformed even a fraction of this time to calisthenic exercises, you'd start seeing improvement in the first few weeks. When coupled with proper diet and time, you may even become attractive again. Then, you'll realize, as do most of us, how stupid the "body-positive" stuff truly is!

Sincerely,
Men of America

P.S.: That means all of us, even your ostensible male allies. You see, much like me, they've also evolved to value health, youth, and fertility. Even though they may toe the party line of "love your body," they're also secretly repulsed by your fat ass.

If you're not fucking her, someone else is.

Normal - in this case means going to doctor and getting prescriptions to drugs.
