Where to game Jan-Feb in Europe

Who's up for it?

I guess the optimal weather-talent mix would be somewhere in the south of France.

How about the Canaries or Madeira?

What is the scene there like for 25-35 year olds?

Living in Poland, I would say Winter is the best season here. It can be very cold but people still party a lot. Actually, there is not so much to do beside going out to a warm place and have a drink due to weather condition. I had my best time last winter in January - February before exams while students partied a lot.

Weather in south of France is awful during winter time. It's not that cold, maybe 5 degrees up to 10, but you have this f**** wind and huge humidity with sea nearby that makes you colder than - 15 degrees in Poland when it's dry. Also, people from south of France are very affected by the short daylight time during winter and atmosphere is kind of weird. Would not recommend, except Corsica but there is no tourists during this season and if you don't speak French you can get in trouble.

Europe only has really good weather Jan-Feb on the Canary Islands. Or maybe Sevilla. You can game a lot in Sevilla I suppose.

EU Explorer, i checked the historic threads. very little there

mastauser, thanks. I have been to Seville several times in Jan-Feb. Weather is great there but women, not so much. Only conservative locals, and very few foreign tourists (usually couples or groups)

zuma, thanks. Poland in January....brrrrr....

Nobody has a report on Canaries or Madeira in Jan?

Expect a lot of ederly British and German couples or young families in Madeira, I would not recommend.

If you must go somewhere warm - Lisbon comes to mind IF you are happy to go for tourist chicks. The city still gets a lot of tourism in the winter.

But you are probably better off braving the cold, which will open up a whole host of options for you.

i have been to lisbon in feb a few years back. i love that place, but it didn't strike me as full of possibilities.

sounds like there is no middle ground. this winter then becomes a choice between the extremes of either freezing in north europe, or tanning in south america / southeast asia.

it also sounds like there is a good business opportunity for someone to 'make' one of these winter sun locations like canaries or coastal Morocco into a destination for younger travelers during winter

alfama was great though. the fado restaurants, especially after watching that wenders film. but i hardly came across any women who were even comparable to that singer-actress 8.5 in Lisbon Story.

i also saw one of my favorite film villains on that trip. alan rickman from robin hood
