Cigar Clubs

I've been frequenting a local cigar club and its been a great experience.

The clientele is mostly older successful men who love their vices (booze and alcohol).

I've been hesitant to step foot in a place that is demographically so different than my own, but I've grown to love shooting the shit w/the older guys.

Just keep an open mind and be frank that you are a novice cigar smoker and you'll be freely accepted. My first real cigar was a Camacho (yellow color...mild intensity) and it wasn't too bad.

Don't be surprised if you'll learn something new or glean some pearls of wisdom from older guys....I've gotten a potential biz idea from this semi-retired multi-millionaire and we'll see how it pans out.

Good tip.

Cigar clubs can be quite old-school all-male venues, but here too some women want to get in despite their actual lack of affinity for it.

A local store my dad goes to has a little lounge in the back with a TV and leather couches. When my dad goes to load up on tobacco he'll occasionally light up with some of the guys in the lounge.

It's definitely a setting that isn't frequented by common plebeians. Its older, seemingly wise men like DVY mentioned. I could see myself in a place like this as I continue to learn and appreciate the particulars of tobacco and scotch through my dad

Mike from Dangerandplay did a podcast on this and I suggest finding it. It went into detail on cigarshops and them being one of the last places where men can be men. I think the title was how Axl Rose avoided a false rape conviction. But it is a great podcast.

Sorry for the late reply. He didn't post it on the website but it's on soundcloud and iTunes.

I can't post links for some reason. But if you type in axl rose and dangerandplay in a search engine, you'll see the links come up.

As someone who titled my blog after my enjoyment of cigars, I always wish Canada's liberal agenda didn't push out smoke lounges like this. They do exist in Canada (I believe Montreal has some), but they are rare to find and not anywhere close to where I live.

I'm not that old, but I've enjoyed spending the $50 a weekend I normally reserve for liquor and going downtown on a nice cigar instead. It would be cool to find a shop that caters to this niche in Canada close to where I live.

A humble gentleman's blog about pussy, cigars, and game.
