Glucosamine Chondroitin

I've heard and read that Glucosamine Chondroitin is really good for the joints. I feel mine are not quite that strong, they feel a little delicate and crack all the time.

I did a forum search about it but could not find much info and experiences from other members about it.

Anyone has some insight or experience on it?

Would love to hear.

I started taking it and fish oil 5 years ago, took it for a few years (still taking fish oil).

I noticed a difference (my forearm tendinitis was better) taking fish oil. The GC I didn't notice, but I believe fish oil is supposed to make a difference quicker, so more obvious.

It's supposed to be good for you, so not a bad idea taking it. I may start taking it again,

My current supplements: 1 Mens vitamin, 2 Zinc, 1 Fish oil, sometimes a milk thistle

By "1 Fish oil" do you mean 1 capsule per day?

Yes - orthomolecular doctors use it for decades now already to even completely regenerate joint tissues. Sometimes after having strained it too much you will feel the pain dissipate - even if you are 60+. For some people daily doses are necessary while others just need it to regenerate.

Best is to take a good high-poteny multi together with it.

Recommended companies:

Swanson
Nowfoods
Youngevity
Awesomesupplements
Mercola

Most others contain ineffective doses, ineffective ingredients or toxic additives.

It's Alex Jones interview with an NBA player who completely regenerated his joints and back with orthomolecular supplements.

Scientific data on it:

http://www.orthomolecular.org/

If you search those sites on glucosamine you will find hundreds of links to studies which show efficacy of that supplement. Even mainstream medicine admits, that it is somewhat effective, though they are silent on the fact that you can regenerate joints completely and avoid operations. Though to be fair major reversals of joint health are done via a combination of multi, vit D3, magnesium & calcium & omega 3 acids.

For the average sportsmen it is usually enough to take some

gluco/chondritine/msm at doses of 1000/800/400 mg - pro athletes take sometimes 5-10x as much.

Great reply Zelcorpion, thank you.

I have decided to give it a try. Hopefully combined with the Fish Oil I am already taking, I can feel a positive effect.

I will share my experience after a few weeks.

Yes, I take 1 Fish Oil per day...though for a while I was taking 2 (I think you're supposed to take 2).

I may start taking 2 again.
