Easier to make female foreign friends than male ones?

I spent some time abroad and try to hangout with the international students now that I'm in grad school. When I was in Asia, I noticed many of the local males just did not want to be friends with me as some may have resented me. I'm not gay, but I wanted to make some male friends because I don't really get along with Americans well (since many American guys are manginas and American females. we all know how bad they are) and I have less interesting conversations with females, and unless they offer sex, they don't really have much to offer. When I wanted to do language exchange with some guys, it seemed like some of them thought it was gay. It was easier to just have language exchange with females, even if they suspected I was a 'loser' for using it as a way to get a date. What do you guys think? How were you able to build a social circle abroad? For those who have lived abroad, did you just hangout with foreign women, even platonically?

At least half of the guys I've been friendly with in Indonesia turned out to be trying to steal from me. (Material things, not girls.)

Most men everywhere in the world are naturally reserved against foreigners, this is natural. Men are carriers of their culture and and have an instinct of competition of proving themselves and their group as superior to other cultural and racial groups. This comes from an evolutionary form of mate guarding. Most men everywhere in the world will ask foreign men to pass some sort of "initiation" test before accepting them, this is a hardwired instinct. In past this was a real ritual - today it can be anything from scrupulous test of language and knowing local humor and memes or some strong display of masculinity that demonstrates how masculinity transcends nationality. This is true for the most part of world with exception of feminized "open countries like USA or Sweden.

Basically everywhere outside USA, Canada, Sweden and similar countries 99% of men are racists and proud of that. That is the naturals state of being. Russians, Chinese, Japanese - they all take pride in their nationality and will hold prejudices against other people without shame. Less reservation against other nations of same race, more reservation against other races. They will not always confess it even to themselves but a foreigner will always be required to measure up to a higher standard then a local to be accepted.

With women it is different - women are often more curious about foreign men and often will not be ashamed to submissively recognize the superiority of a foreign culture over their own (in actions not words). At least for adventurous purposes. More conservative women will also prefer men from their culture, but young fun and hyper gamy seeking ones will give preference to what they feel as "exotic"

Yeah, that makes sense. So then why do some guys think its easy for westerners like us to just leave the anglosphere and integrate into countries like China and Japan? Yeah, they are way more patriarchical than the anglosphere, but theres other problems to expect
