Resistance alongside value

Lately I've noticed a lot more resistance going through certain aspects of life. I feel like as my skill/value (visible) has risen in certain areas, so has the general level of hostility. It's definitely not common, but I would say the frequency has increased a significant amount. I really lament some of the treatment sometimes and can get down and discouraged. But I have an inkling that it's b/c I'm moving closer to the truth. Have any of you guys experienced anything like this or am I just an irrational narcissist?

Can you give some more detail/examples? On the whole though, I'd say that what you said is true. You work out and get bigger and get more ladies, some people will say you're a show off, try hard or gym rat. You score high in your exams, some people will call you a need.

Yea, exactly that. But the interesting thing is, the dichotomy in treatment has increased. I'm treated worse by objectively less attractive guys (slovenly, asymmetrical, below avg height) and treated much better by attractive girls AND guys. The difference is stark. And it's most noticeable when you try to engage the former. It's almost as if they have something to prove and are defensive about innocuous statements. If you have a longer standing relationship with them, it feels like they are trying implement every word Robert Greene wrote in 48 laws. Maybe I just have something against people that carry a napoleon complex, but it's been particularly grating. Any strategies you guys employ to diminish these feelings? I've never been the guy who does preemptive strikes, and I'd lament a time where I would have to.
